Report: Turkish warplanes now able to fire at Israeli targets

From YNET News:

Ankara’s Star Gazete says country’s new F-16 radar system modified to recategorize Israeli targets as hostile. Order said to come directly from PM Erdogan’s office; naval, submarine radar systems to be changed next

Aviel Magnezi

Turkey has developed a new radar system for its US-made F-16 fighter jets that will allow them to fire at Israeli targets, Ankara’s Star Gazete reported on Tuesday. The orders to modify the system reportedly came directly from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip

The new radar system – Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) – is a defensive command and control system developed by Erdogan says flotilla raid was ’cause for war’

The US system is comprised of lists of “friends” and “foes.” The system’s settings are designed to prevent pilot error as well, to an extent, disabling the ability to fire at “friendly” targets even by mistake. The US system identified

The new system, however, allows Turkey control the “friend or foe” list independently.

The Turkish IFF system is scheduled to be mounted on all Turkish fighter jets, military vessels and submarines in the near future.

The “Palestinians”: 31 opportunities for statehood squandered in favor of genocide

From Jihad Watch:

The latest rush to create a Palestinian state, something that has never existed in any form before in human history, ignores the fact that the “Palestinians” have rejected numerous previous opportunities to establish a state. This only underscores the fact that a Palestinian state would not bring peace. Instead, it would only be a jihad base from which to launch new attacks against what remains of Israel. The goal — to destroy Israel utterly — would remain the same.

Building a “Palestinian State” on “Get Out of Jail Free Cards”

By J. Practical

Last year, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad announced that his government intends to declare an independent Palestinian state in the summer of 2011. Later, Palestinian leaders announced that they intend to achieve statehood through a Unilateral Declaration of Independence via the United Nations, rather than through negotiations with Israel.

At an emotional level, the declaration of a state is a positive and uplifting feeling for anyone, especially when the state is for a people who’ve been refugees and occupied for over 60 years. Those of us with a liberal outlook, see it as a fitting event in context of the Arab Spring/Summer, and the movement of the Arab states away from the dictatorships that have plagued them (for centuries). Those same liberal-minded people see Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, as a moderate, whose leadership has moved the Palestinian Authority into peace negotiations, and non-violent paths to creating a Palestinian state.

Media pundits love to tell us that a Palestinian state, a just solution for the Palestinian people, will stabilize the middle east, and bring peace to the whole region.

But at a realistic level, these rosy tinted glass views are at odds with the Palestinian players, and the Palestinian theatre.

Actual events on the Palestinian stage don’t support the western, liberal optimism.

The truth is, that the Palestinian Authority is exempt from the critical analysis that the media applies to Israel. Much of what the PA does, the policy they set, what they tell their people, and tell other Arab governments, isn’t reported in our news.

So what’s the reality?

The reality, is that the Palestinian state is not about to be created by nationalists, who want to secure a peaceful national home for the Palestinians. The leaders of the Palestinian Authority are stating a completely different goal to Arabic speakers. In some cases, they do it openly, in some cases its quite subtle. In all cases, it fundamentally opposes the message that they send to the western world that is so diligently supporting them.

Let’s ignore Hamas for the moment – let’s pretend that Fatah political leadership alone is directing the Palestinian future. You know them:  They’re the ones the media tells us are a party of Palestinian political moderates seeking sovereignty and peace with Israel. In fact Canadian media (like the CBC) have succeeded in portraying them as old-fashioned Quebec Separatists – left wing, moderate, oppressed, yearning for the freedom of their own state.

I’m going to challenge that. Especially the usage of the term ‘moderate’, because I don’t believe people who use that term to describe the PA have any idea what they’re talking about. Let’s look at the exemptions the media provided the PA, and quickly highlight three of these questionable ‘get out of jail free cards’ that the media have issued the Palestinian Authority in order to support their national aspirations. There are other such cards, but these three come to mind first. Continue Reading →

France 24 report on storming of Israeli Embassy in Cairo

This is an interesting report from France 24. I find the omission of reporting, or showing, the burning of the Israeli flag as well as the interview of the person who took it off of the building (and presumably burned it) where he says: “They must all die” (at around 22 seconds), presumably referring to Israelis, as interesting. Clearly the propaganda campaign against Israel and Jews for the past several decades in Muslim nations has paid dividends.

Egyptians Ransack Israeli Embassy in Cairo
by Jerry Gordon

Egyptian Mobs ransacking Israeli Embassy in Cairo

Fox News reported Friday that  Egyptians assaulted and ransacked the Israeli Embassy in Cairo. The Israeli Ambassador  his family and staff  fled escorted by police, driven to Cairo airport where a military plane took them home to Israel.  The embassy  was torn apart, documents scattered by the huge mob of protesres  who  assaulted and pierced the high security wall with sledghammers. All while Egyptian police  stood by watrcing  not lifting a finger  to quell the rampaging mob or make arrests.  It is not lost on many of us, that the ruling Supreme Military Council is either indifferent or simply following the course of least resistance since the eruption of the Arab Spring and downfall of the Mubarak government..   Every Friday, Salafist preachers in Cairo  stoke hatred  of Jews and Israel. They demand that the 1979 Peace Treaty between the two countries be torn up ending the Cold Peace -a reference to the lack of support by  ordinary Egyptians..  Given the recent  terrror attacks at  Eilat and  accusations that Israeli  forces while in pursuit of the terrorists  may have  shot and killed accidentally  five Egyptian border police  during the action tensions have risen dramatically in Cairo and other major cities in Egypt.  As a result, the Egyptian interim government called home its Ambassador in Tel Aviv.  That riggered mounting portests at the Israeli Embassy in Cairo.   Egypt is still holding Ilan Grapel, a dual American-Israeli citizen who was arrested in June while touring Egypt and accused of spying on behalf of the Mossad..  Egypt,  with the condonment of Israel, sent more than 2000 troops and tanky scouring the Sinai Peninsula seeking  alleged Al Qaeda terrorists. Israel has deployed troops to the border with Egypt and has contracted for the construction of a virtual 120 mile long wall separating the two countries. The irony is that deep in the Sinai peninsula is a Multi-National Force and Observers  group (MFO) that was to act as a trip wire to avoid  possible conflicts. Among the  MFO contingent are US service personnel. That aspect of the  Egyptian Israeli peace treaty may have been voided  to allow Egyptian troops into the Sinai  as part of the hunt for al Qaeda and Palestinian terrorists. Egypt has also  arrested  four  Israelis sent to  guard commercial vessels in the Gulf of Aqaba.  Many have asked  whether the US-orchestrated peace treaty may have compounded the problem when it forced Israel to give up control of the Sinai peninsula, making Israel’s southern border increasingly vulnerable.  The Cold Peace appears to be heating up.

According to the FoxNews report, Israel’s Minister of Defense Ehud Barak contacted US Defense Secretary Leon Panetti asking for assistance to secure.the embassy,  Given the crowds of several thousand engaged in protests and ransacking the Israeli Embassy, the Egyptian military police were finally forced to send in troops, tanks and fire tear gas to disperse the mobs.  The Obama White House, which had high hopes for the Arab Spring in Egypt is now caught in the dilemma  of its own making trying to  resolve the untenable situation. This latest development comes just days before the looming unilateral declaration of Statehood for Palestine at the UN General Assembly sessions in Manhattan. .  However in Cairo things have spun out of control of the Supreme Military Council chief Tantwai, who succeeded the dethroned Mubarak. Now, he is the object of scorn by the mobs in Tahrir Square in Cairo.

The Cold Peace appears to be  rapidly heating up.

Looking for video on the storming of the Israeli embassy in Cairo today.

News is rough for Israel. Add this to the open and irrational hostility from Turkey.

I suppose Obama did promise hope and change. I guess we should have asked for who.

I will add videos as I find them below:

CAIRO (AP) — A group of about 30 protesters broke into the Israeli Embassy in Cairo Friday and dumped hundreds of documents out of the windows, Egyptian and Israeli officials said.

Hundreds of protesters had been converging on the embassy throughout the afternoon and into the night, tearing down large sections of a security wall outside the 21-story building housing the embassy. Egyptian security forces made no attempt for hours to intervene.

Just before midnight, a group of protesters reached a room on one of the embassy’s lower floors at the top of the building and began dumping Hebrew-language documents from the windows, said an Egyptian security official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

In Jerusalem, an Israeli official confirmed the embassy had been broken into, saying it appeared the group reached a waiting room on the lower floor. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to release the information.

No one answered the phone at the embassy late Friday.

Turkish warships will escort aid vessels to Gaza: Erdogan

Reuters:

By Sami Aboudi

CAIRO (Reuters) – Turkey said on Thursday it would escort aid ships to Gaza and would not allow a repetition of last year’s Israeli raid that killed nine Turks, setting the stage for a potential naval confrontation with its former ally.

Raising the stakes in Turkey’s row with Israel over its refusal to apologize for the killings, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Al Jazeera television that Turkey had taken steps to stop Israel from unilaterally exploiting natural resources in the Mediterranean.

“Turkish warships, in the first place, are authorized to protect our ships that carry humanitarian aid to Gaza,” Erdogan said in the interview, broadcast by Al Jazeera with an Arabic translation.

“From now on, we will not let these ships to be attacked by Israel, as what happened with the Freedom Flotilla,” Erdogan said.

Referring to Erdogan’s comments, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said: “This is a statement well-worth not commenting on.”

Relations between Turkey and Israel, two close U.S. allies in the region, have soured since Israeli forces boarded the Gaza-bound Mavi Marmara aid ship in May 2010.

Ankara downgraded ties and vowed to boost naval patrols in the eastern Mediterranean in the escalating row. Israel says it acted legally against ships that tried to breach its blockade on the Palestinian enclave which is ruled by the Islamist Hamas group.

Israel has said it will enforce the blockade, which it says is needed to prevent arms smuggling to Hamas.

Amid the current diplomatic impasse between Ankara and Jerusalem, Turkish hackers hijacked some 350 Israeli websites on Sunday evening, launching a Domain Name System (DNS) attack on dozens of other websites as well.

Israeli IT analysts said Tuesday the DNS hijacking is likely to be, in fact, a “test-run” ahead of a major attack on Israeli domains.

Visitors to some of the sites were diverted to a page declaring it was “World Hackers Day.”

At least seven high-profile websites outside Israel were also hijacked, including those of The Telegraph, Acer, National Geographic, UPS and Vodafone.

Hackers calling themselves the “TurkGuvenligi group” claimed they had done the cyber-attack. TurkGuvenligi translates as “Turkish security.”

“The hack represents a 10%-15% spike compared to the average number of daily hacks of Israeli websites,” Shai Blitzblau, head of Maglan-Computer Warfare and Network Intelligence Labs, explained.

The operation was very sophisticated and probably entailed a significant financial investment, Blitzblau added.

An inquiry into the hack attack discovered a clear link to “TurkGuvenligi,” as well as several failed attempts to hack other websites.

Israel’s military and security establishment has invested significantly in cyber-warfare programs in recent years and is considered one of the most advanced cyber-warfare forces in the world, both in attack and defense modes.

The Stuxnet virus that downed systems at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor to a halt for over six months is widely believed to have been the result of an Israeli cyber-attack, although Israel has not admitted it.

Home Front Command warns of looming multi-front war

Maj.-Gen. Eisenberg reveals that Hamas used new advanced rocket in most recent attacks against Israel.

Noting an increase in the chance for a multi-front war, OC Home Front Command Maj.-Gen. Eyal Eisenberg revealed on Monday that Palestinian terror groups used a new and advanced rocket in their attacks against Israel during the recent round of fighting in the Gaza Strip.

“After the ‘Arab Spring’, we assess that a winter of radical Islam will arrive and as a result the possibility for a multi-front war has increased including the potential use of weapons of mass destruction,” Eisenberg said during a conference on the Home Front at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv.

Eisenberg revealed that during the recent round of fighting between Israel and Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip, a new weapon was fired into Israel. “We discovered a new weapon and as a result we instructed the public to take extra precautions and to seek cover under two roofs and not just one,” Eisenberg said.

Israeli embassy in Egypt now has 2.5 meter wall.

Albert Hall September 1 2011

When one speaks of savages, could it be that they mean those who take advantage of the inherent weaknesses of cooperative cultures, the backbone of civilizations, in order to cause disorder, chaos, and make absurd demands when in reality the chaos is it’s own goal? Just a thought. Lets face it. If any of these people actually cared about the causes they champion they would do something about them instead of this:

So, exactly why did the BBC pull the broadcast of the Israeli concert last night?

Richard Millet asks the right question

Zubin Mehta and the IPO waiting for more protesters to be removed last night.Zubin Mehta and the IPO waiting for more protesters to be removed last night.

The band played on, the audience inside the Royal Albert Hall loved it and screamed “More!”, so then why did the BBC pull last night’s live Radio 3 broadcast of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra at the Proms near to the beginning?

People around the world had tuned in to listen, but instead the BBC quickly switched to a recording of a past IPO performance.

The six or so anti-Israel disruptions (see clips below) didn’t really detract from the evening’s overall enjoyment.

The BBC would’t pull the live transmission of a big football match because 30 hooligans invaded the pitch, but this is the equivalent of what they did last night to the detriment of those who were not lucky enough to be there in person.

The BBC is broadcasting recorded exerpts of the concert next Wednesday at 2.30pm (BST), but the main beauty of an event is that it is live.

Then the BBC’s report of what happened handed a complete propaganda coup to the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, an organisation that recently invited Sheikh Raed Salah to speak, a man who has called homosexuality “a crime” that starts “the collapse of every society”.
