STOP THE PRESSES! Feminist group takes stand for WOMEN’S RIGHTS!

Things must be really bad when feminist and women’s groups actually take action of any kind to protect women and genuine human rights anywhere at all as opposed to dedicating all their efforts towards enforcing cultural Marxism.

Single Femen protestor does schtick at Constantinople airport.

As a point of interest I think that this particular performance art could be ended by just ignoring them since the script seems to depend on the image of a number of large uniformed men wrestling with a single mostly naked female protesting for (usually) quite legitimate rights. If they were ignored a few times or laughed at or applauded and people walked away and no violence or force was used I bet they would have to change the script. Just as a point of interest.

Femen does protest in Paris…

No idea what for though. But here is the video.

Article and photos here.

Ok in the video below it makes more sense. First, its outside the Tunisian embassy in Paris. Secondly, the chants and motions mock muslim religious provocations. So I’m liking it a lot more now that I see a less sanitized version of this protest.

Thanks M

This appears to be what its about

Thanks M very much for your diligence and research.

Femen protests in front of mosques in Berlin and Brussels April 3 2013

I don’t agree with some of their reasoning. Law cannot be reduced to ‘it’s my body so I’ll do what I want to’. Drugs are illegal, suicide is illegal, walking naked in public is illegal, taking a dump on a restaurant patio is illegal. Just to name a few of thousands. But still, the fact that they have the raw guts to make their point in front of major mosques in Europe is at least indicative of changing values in parts of Europe. And would anyone notice if they did it in the more pedestrian way? Not to the extent they do now.

Maybe they have a point.

Fifteen Femen France members were arrested in the French capital Thursday for protesting topless outside the Tunisian embassy as part of a worldwide “topless jihad day.” The protesters gathered at the embassy on Paris’ Rue Barbet de Jouy with bare chests scrawled with slogans for female liberation.

One onlooker said (in Arabic), “It is written there is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger… and you would burn that?!”

The day was declared Tuesday after a Salafi preacher called for Tunisian activist, Amina Tyler to be stoned to death after she posted a semi-nude picture of herself on Femen Tunisia’s facebook page. Lawyers said that under the Tunisian penal code, the 19 year-old could face 6 months to 2 years in prison and a 100-1,000 Tunisian dinar fine (50 -490 euros).

Ministers’ cover-up over the abortion of unwanted girls: Officials refuse to release list of ethnic communities more likely to have sex-specific terminations

Once again, the ultimate leftist-feminist dilemma. Support all abortion for all women no matter why or when or where only to discover that the vast majority of them are used to murder embryonic girls. One thing is for sure. If I were part of the British public I would be furious that my government was hiding crucial information and pretending it was in my interest to do so.

Ministers have refused to release information about which immigrant communities appear more likely to abort unwanted girls.

Officials at the Department of Health have compiled a list of nationalities whose mothers tend to have far more boys than girls, a sign of illegal sex-specific terminations.

But they say that it would ‘not be in the public interest’ to publish the list.

Campaigners last night condemned ministers for being more concerned about stigmatising certain ethnic communities than challenging the practice by publishing the information.

Ranjit Bilkhu, an anti-gender abortion campaigner who grew up in a Sikh Punjabi community in Birmingham, said: ‘On International Women’s Day, of all days, we should be open about this issue. What we are talking about is violence against women and we should recognise it as such.

‘I think the Government is afraid to publish this because it might highlight particular communities that it doesn’t want to marginalise. I know it happens in my community.’

Study shows desert people are less violent that other Saudi men

Published Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Nearly half Saudi women are beaten up by their husbands or other family members at home and many of them are hit by sticks and head cover, according to a university study published in local newspapers on Tuesday.

Surprisingly, the study found that the Bedouin men who still dwell the desert in the conservative Gulf Kingdom, are less violent than Saudi men in urban areas.

The study was conducted by Dr Lateefa Abdul Lateef, a social science professor at King Saud University in the Capital Riyadh. It involved female students at the university and some Saudi women covered by the government’s social security.
