Amer had few words to describe the terrifying ordeal.
“They were animals,” she said.
Fahmy lay on top of Amer, shielding her with his body.

Somehow, Fahmy managed to carry Amer to the open door of the public television crew’s car, where two of her female colleagues were waiting just a few feet away.
The mob pounded on the windows and tried to reach into the vehicle as the panicked reporters fumbled and struggled to get behind the steering wheel.
When Margaret Warner, a correspondent with the PBS program “Newshour” managed to get the vehicle moving away from the crowd, men threw stones at the departing vehicle.

Hamas Looks to Cairo for New Headquarters
Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahar says Hamas may relocate its Damascus headquarters to Cairo due to the widespread unrest in Syria.
Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahar announced Friday the terror movement is may relocate its headquarters from Damascus to Cairo. It is the first time a senior Hamas official openly admitted they were looking at a move.
“All the Palestinians in Syria are in distress, not just Hamas. There are many options in terms of the organization’s headquarters and Egypt is one of them,” he said.
Al-Zahar also addressed the possibility that other senior Hamas officials will return to Gaza and noted this depended on each of them personally.
“Gaza is open to all,” he stressed. “There are leaders who may return to Gaza and some may not. “

The Dutchman Wouter Mijland plans to build in Berlin on 11September a monument for fallen Taliban fighters. The past four years living in Dresden artist wants to set up a two-meter high sculpture in secret, in the public square. He sees this as a deliberate counterpoint to the new army memorial.
Mijland claims a “new culture with the German war memorial and exciting television ARD in which journalists can go to the army to hunt Taliban in Afghanistan.” This development, he called in an interview published on his website “frightening and wrong.”
The Islamic threat “is a product of Western propaganda”
“I want to provoke, perhaps, but not known to be” versichtert Mijland, who calls his monument a “cheap provocation.” He wanted instead to “that some people think differently about the 11 September 2001 and its consequences on the polarization and stigmatization of people of Muslim religion.”

After a debate with the brother of Tariq Ramadan’s brother Hani, Oskar Freysinger gets nailed with a pie in the face by a disgruntled student who obviously disagreed with the member of the Swiss People’s Party concerning Islam. It was an act of thuggery, representative of the mentalities that love to rule by force and decree, Leftism and Islam.
The only point that the TT would be in disagreement with Freysinger, is of the act of pie throwing supposedly “belonging to democracy”, far from it. It’s an act of political violence, of intimidation, which runs counter to the ethic of political disagreements in a democracy being handled through public debate and at the voting booth.
Lets face some facts here, the Left is known for such antics, almost holding exclusive rights to them, like the throwing of pies in the faces of people with whom they disagree, tossing paint on people wearing furs, as well as Muslims throwing feces and urine at demonstrations. This is how the totalitarian mindset operates, because they can’t hope to win an argument, so they have to intimidate their opposition. It’s all pure thuggery. KGS

Student throws pie in Freysinger’s face

Basler Zeitung:The Valais SVP politicians debated at the University of Geneva on the fight against terrorism. At the panel meeting, he himself became the target of attack.
[…] The verbal sparring between Islam critic Freysinger and moderate Islam researcher Ramadan proceeded in an orderly fashion: Freysinger criticized sharia and talked about creeping Islamization, which in his opinion, takes the upper hand in European societies. On the other hand, Ramadan urged the variety of interpretations of Muslim religion and condemned the sweeping view of the SVP. The two rivals had been in a very polite discussion with each other, the newspaper said.
Pie throwing a political freedom?
The attack occurred after the actual debate was already closed. One of the students in attendance – apparently not an advocate of Freysinger’s line of argument – tossed a pie in the direction of the SVP politician. Freysinger was hit in the face, his jacket was spattered with whipped cream. The student was then taken by security forces and led from the room.
Freysinger commented to Swiss radio RSR that nothing like this has ever happened to him before. Freysinger was angry, “The person throwing this pie could have at least refrained from poking his finger into my eye.” If I am afraid of these things, I will leave politics right away. Later he modified his statement, saying that throwing a pie is part of democracy.

‘Price tag’ operation in retaliation for the razing of structures at Migron outpost? Palestinian sources told Ynet on Monday morning that the first floor of a mosque in the village of Kusra, south of Nablus, had been torched.
According to the Palestinians, the fire broke out after unknown assailants shattered the windows of the compound and set tires on fire inside the mosque. The slogan “Alei Ayin and Migron – Social Justice” was spray-painted in Hebrew on the fence outside.

(SBU) According to a report by the National Council for Crime Prevention published in December 2005, immigrants or individuals with at least one immigrant parent perpetrated about 45 percent of all crimes during the period 1997-2001. In regard to the most serious felonies — murder, manslaughter, assault and rape — the percentage was even higher.
3. (SBU) A National Council press release about the report focused on other findings showing immigrants are often wrongly suspected of crimes — possibly in deference to the politically sensitive nature of the crime statistics. The Council report cites failed government integration strategy as partly responsible for the over-representation of immigrants in criminal activity.

4. (SBU) Just days after the crime report the National Social Insurance Office issued a report on use of sick-leave. This report concludes that immigrants use sick-leave more often than indigenous Swedes. Those of certain national origins, such as people from North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey, show high rates of sick leave, especially among women. These groups take an average of 34 sick days per year, as compared to 20 days for ethnic Swedes. The report offers as a possible explanation that immigrants often fill low status jobs with low wages and often difficult work
5. (SBU) The sick-leave report stated that long-term unemployment can lead to loss of health insurance. Among ethnic Swedes some 5 percent are outside the social insurance system, while among people from North Africa and the Middle East the rate is as high as 30 percent. These people are often long-term recipients of state welfare, which is arguably generous enough to serve as a disincentive to work.

The rapid arrival of large numbers of immigrants (Sweden granted 873,040 residence permits between 1980 and 2004) combined with a widely-held perception that immigrants are a burden upon society due to welfare dependence and disproportionate criminal activity, has generated a measure of hostility towards them. Although none of the political parties currently in parliament advocate a more restrictive immigration policy, 1.4 percent of the electorate supported the extremist, xenophobic Sweden Democrats (whose online paper was shut down after publishing the Mohammed cartoons – see Reftel) in the 2002 parliamentary elections.
7. (SBU) Sweden has significant immigrant integration problems, resulting in high rates of unemployment and welfare dependency, and, as recent studies indicate, criminality. Sweden, with its generous worker benefits and high carrying costs per employee, also makes it expensive and difficult to create the entry-level positions these immigrants could fill. Combine the disincentives to job creation with the relatively generous welfare benefits and actual prohibitions against asylum seekers from taking employment, and you end up with an idle group with few productive outlets. These results of these recent studies coupled with concern about local effects from the Mohammed cartoon controversy are likely to raise a notch the level of concern about integration during the parliamentary elections campaign.

FINLAND: MUSLIMS COMMANDEER CHILD PLAY PARK FOR RAMADAN PRAYER TIME
This isn’t the first time such situations have cropped up in Finland. There have been swimming hall periods commandeered for ‘Muslim women only’ swimming (no longer allowed), Muslims praying in a public library, and even a female gym having its locker room commandeered for prayer time.

AamuLehti: Muslim prayer at a Vantaa HopLop playground brought confusion in Vantaa, on Tuesday. The story is relayed by the Ilta-Sanomat and Ilta Lehti.
A man told the Ilta-Sanomat about going with his 2,5-year-old son to the indoor play park. According to him, the playground was full of Muslims who celebrated the end of fasting.
In the afternoon they held a moment of prayer in the park, which according to the father caused confusion among the other cliental. Father took a picture of those praying with a mobile phone, of the which caused an exchange of words.
According to the Father, the staff did not know how to react to the situation in any way, he finally asked for the adventure park’s manager, Mona Göös. He asked for them to stop praying, because the path cannot be blocked.
HopLop’s CEO Tomi Pulkkinen told the Iltalehti that prayer is not prohibited at HopLop.

The Israeli Navy (INF) has decided to boost its presence and patrols near Israel’s maritime border with Egypt due to a viable terror threat in the area.
Israeli security sources told the Associated Press on Monday that two additional warships have been dispatched to Israel’s Red Sea border with Egypt. Another source stressed that the operation was routine, telling Reuters that “two naval craft have been sent to the Red Sea. This is not unusual.”

Right now it’s still a bit unclear. There are witnesses who say shots were fired from a car that sped off, and others sre saying that shots came from the mosque itself (Muslim Culture Institute Amerikavej 19-21 København V). The Finnish report is the only one that the TT has seen mentioning that the police believe that the shooting is between two Muslim groups. KGS

A spokesman for the Muslim institute, who declined to give his name before hanging up the telephone, told The Associated Press that the incident took place on a parking lot next to the mosque as hundreds of people were leaving the 9 a.m. prayer service.
Kuran Qureshi, who attended the prayers, told Danish broadcaster TV2 in a live interview that he had witnessed two groups of “younger men having some kind of argument” on the parking lot just before the shooting started.

DAILY TELEGRAPH: ONE person has died and another was wounded in a shooting near a Copenhagen mosque.
Muslim worshippers were celebrating Eid al Fitr to mark the end of the fasting month of Ramadan when the shooting occurred, Danish newspaper BT reported.
“I can confirm that one [person] is killed, and another is wounded,” Copenhagen deputy police inspector Lau Thygesen said.
Witnesses told BT that gunfire broke out as worshippers left the mosque. Up to 20 shots were fired. Police cordoned off the scene of the shooting, and an investigation was underway.
