Have you heard? Lady Gaga has a male alter-ego. A redneck by the name of “Jo Calderone,” he swears, drinks, and wears a leather jacket (what else?). Perhaps it’s a kind of elaborate acting therapy, but for the female pop sensation her alter-ego is serious business. Gaga even turned up as Calderone at the recent VMA award ceremony.
According to VMA executive producer, Dave Sirulnick, “She showed up as Jo, rehearsed as Jo … if you said ‘Gaga,’ she wouldn’t respond. After rehearsals, she comes over, she says to me, ‘It’s nice to meet you,’ and I say to her, ‘I know your friend Gaga,’ and she says, ‘That Gaga, what a b—-!’ She did not break character once. The UK Government Must Represent The Working Class

Many people had hoped that the Conservative Party would be different from its predecessor, the Labour Government, which rode roughshod over the wishes of the electorate, especially the working class that once formed its base. After coming to power in 1997, Labour allowed immigration to spiral out of control, radical Islam to rise up in the UK, and Britain to relinquish more sovereignty to the European Union.
Such hope was not unreasonable, even if it was unrealistic. Although theoretically Labour party and the Conservative parry occupy opposite sides of politics, the reality is very different, as the electorate has begun to grasp. Like the Labour Government, the current Conservative-dominated administration betrays every sign of being unable and unwilling to tackle, in particular, the problems of mass immigration and the emergence of radical Islam and sharia law inside the UK. Like its predecessor, the current Government appears to be more interested in shifting the responsibility for the country’s problems onto the White working class than in fixing problems or addressing the concerns of those that they were elected to represent.

UK Channel 4 TV: terrorist comedy to commemorate 9/11

Channel 4 will commemorate the 9/11 attacks on the USA by showing a “mix” of programs, including Chris Morris’s comedy movie Four Lions about British Islamist terrorists.
The announcement was made at the Edinburgh Television Festival by former BBC1 controller and current Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt. I’m using the word “fabulous” for a reason. In certain contexts it infers glamorous, frivolous, and a little campy. I think that may sum up author Paris Dipersico, 24, and his latest, self-published, book, Wake Up Call. Not everyone would agree, of course. Recently, Dipersico was attacked by two Muslim men who referred to him by another F-word: “faggot.”According to the Toronto Sun, Dipersico was ”dragged from his bicycle Aug. 17, tied up among trees, then beaten briefly unconscious” by them. No prizes for guessing that they were offended by Dipersico’s flamboyant book, in which he talks about drugs, sex, and, occasionally, Islam — in not an altogether flattering light.

“Your life is your life,” so the voiceover of Levi’s latest ad announces in a husky, somewhat frothy voice. We’re supposed to feel that we’re listening to someone wise; someone who’s lived life and contemplated its mysteries — beyond why some jeans make you look fat and others don’t, that is. Yet, these, the opening words of the company’s latest ad, are only the beginning of what turns out to be one long string of pret-a-porter-Zen inanities.
Against the visually-rich and politically-loaded footage of the ad, the words are like verbal wallpaper, made in the 1980s, and peeling at the edges. But its this juxtaposition that elevates the words from the banal to an almost Orwellian height.
