Analysis: Unfortunately, Essam el-Erian outburst is yet another example of the deep-seated hostility of the Brotherhood toward Israel. Egypt, the largest and most important Arab state, is now under their sway.

In the midst of an unprecedented economic and political crisis, one of the leading figures of the Brotherhood saw fit to call on Egyptian Jews to come back.

Essam el-Erian, vice president of the Justice and Freedom Party – the party of the Muslim Brothers – was at the time adviser to President Mohamed Morsi. Behind that somewhat bizarre call was Erian’s belief that the State of Israel is bound to disappear within ten years. And no, he was not worried about the fate of the Jews but wanted them to move out to make room for the Palestinians.

15 minutes of the 90 minute debate on Iranian nuclear weapons from C-SPAN Toronto

The whole debate is 90 minutes and actually its pretty good. Even the people arguing against the proposition that Iran must be stopped at all costs do a good job of anesthetizing the people into allowing a Nuclear Iran, to be perfectly honest.

The whole debate can be heard here but below is about 15 minutes of Charles Krauthammer and an Israeli envoy speaking in favour of the proposition.

JERUSALEM –  Israel’s prime minister says he will erect a fortified fence on the border with Syria to protect against radical Islamist forces that he claims have taken over the area.

Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel needs a barrier like a new Egyptian border fence that he says has stemmed the flow of African migrants. He said the Syrian regime was “unstable” and Israel was concerned about the country’s chemical weapons. He told his Cabinet Sunday that across the frontier “the Syrian army has moved away, and in its place, Global Jihad forces have moved in.”

Cleared for publication: Police arrest Eritrean national on suspicion of raping 83-year-old woman for hours in building yard in southern Tel Aviv

They used to say that rape was not about sex but was about control. Well sometimes that may be true and other times it is about sex.

This time, I would bet it was about raw hatred.

Foreigner suspected of raping elderly woman

Cleared for publication: Police arrest Eritrean national on suspicion of raping 83-year-old woman for hours in building yard in southern Tel Aviv

Police have arrested an Eritrean national on suspicion of brutally raping an 83-year-old woman near the old central bus station in southern Tel Aviv, it was cleared for publication Monday.

According to the suspicions, the man raped the elderly woman for hours in the backyard of her building.

The brutal rape was stopped only after the suspect spotted the woman’s relatives arriving to visit her and escaped. Since then, for 10 days, the police have been concealing the incident from the public.

The gag order over the investigation was removed on Monday morning, and the suspect is expected to be indicted later this week.

The incident took place on a Friday about 10 days ago. According to the investigation, the woman, who lives on her own, left her house at around 10 am. The suspect, who was lurking across the street, dragged her to the building’s yard and raped her for hours – while beating and threatening her.

The suspect, in his 20s, had no trouble gaining control of the weak old woman. Unfortunately, her cries for help were not heard by anyone, allowing the rapist to carry on for hours.

Syrian rebels have achieved “relative control” over the border area with Israel, a senior military source told The Jerusalem Post this week.

The development appears to mark yet another milestone in the gradual collapse of the Assad regime.

The rebel control of the border area has been in place since around mid-November, according to IDF evaluations.

As a result, the IDF is facing unknown armed groups, some of which are identified with the global jihad, sitting just across the Syrian border.

Israel has decided to withhold taxes collected for the Palestinian Authority that were to be transferred later in the month. Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz made the announcement Sunday morning at the weekly government Cabinet meeting in Jerusalem.

The move is being made in response to the United Nations vote to approve a new status for the PA as a nonmember observer state — in effect, recognizing the PA as a de facto sovereign state. It allows the PA access to numerous U.N. agencies, and to the International Criminal Court at The Hague.

“This was a Palestinian provocation and an attempt to advance their state without recognizing Israel,” Steinitz said. “We said it would not pass quietly,” he reminded.

Steinitz said the funds would be used instead “to offset the PA’s electricity debts.”  Gaza derives at least 40 percent of its power from the Israeli electricity grid; the PA-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria derive 100 percent of their electricity from Israel.
