2. January 2 2020: Populist Leader Tops Confidence Poll in Sweden for First Time

Swedish populist leader Jimmie Åkesson, the leader of the Sweden Democrats (SD), is now tied with Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch-Thor as the party leader with the most confidence of Swedish voters.

 

The survey, conducted by polling firm Novus, is the best result ever for the SD leader showing him tied with Ms Busch-Thor at 31 per cent, and three points ahead of second-place winner and leader of the Left Party Jonas Sjöstedt, broadcaster SVT reports.

 

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, the leader of the Social Democrats, has seen a steep decline in confidence among voters according to the survey, dropping six percentages points to 23 percent, putting him in 4th place.

 

Löfven commented on the results blaming the sharp increase in bombings, the high number of shootings and gang-related violence in 2019 saying, “It is not so strange with the situation we have had in the autumn with far too many shootings and too many blasts. There is a worry and there is anger.”

3. UCLA law professor Stephen Bainbridge’s diversity statement

“[…] Although I am aware and respectful of the many dimensions within which a university properly seeks a diverse faculty and student body, I have long been particularly concerned with the lack of intellectual diversity at the law school. A survey of U.S. law professors in general found that white Democratic professors (both male and female), Jewish professors, and nonreligious professors “account for most (or all) of the overrepresentation among racial, gender, religious, and ideological groups in law teaching.”[1] The groups that “account for most of the underrepresentation among racial, gender, religious, and ideological groups in law teaching” are Republicans (both male and female), Protestants, and Catholics.[2] This disparity persists even though “religious and political diversity are probably more important for viewpoint diversity than gender diversity and roughly as important as racial diversity.”[3]

 

At UCLA, we know that the campus as a whole leans substantially to the left. “A study of various university faculties showed that at Cornell the ratio of liberal to conservative faculty members was 166 to 6, at Stanford it was 151 to 17, at UCLA it was 141 to 9, and at the University of Colorado it was 116 to 5.”[4] Conservative students at UCLA have been “harassed, stalked, and threatened.”[5] I recently searched the opensecrets.org donor database for political contributions made by persons who claimed UCLA School of Law as their employer. Thirty-eight of those persons contributed solely to Democratic candidates, the Democratic Party and various affiliates, and liberal PACs. One person contributed to both Republicans and Democrats. Three persons contributed exclusively to Republican candidates, the Republican Party, and various NRC affiliates. Of the faculty members who contributed exclusively to Republican candidates, the most recently hired of the two was hired in 1997. As a monetary matter, 92.67% of all contributions went to Democrats and affiliated groups.[6] […]”

4. AFP refers to Indian refugee bill as an “Anti-muslim law” using the same communist and bastardized meaning as the media apply to President Trump’s attempt to double check immigration from nations that export terrorists.

It should be noted that if this is an “anti-muslim law” then Canada’s refusal to take Nazi refugees after WW2 was an anti-nazi law.

5. London parents upset after school changes lyrics to Christmas carol to be ‘more inclusive’

Parents and staff at a London primary school are upset after the headmaster changed the lyrics to a popular Christmas carol “in the name of inclusion and political correctness,” according to a watchdog group.

 

Zakia Khatun, the headteacher of Whitehall Primary School in East London, told students they were not to sing “Lord” in “Away in a Manger,” and replaced it with “little baby” so “all pupils” could participate in an annual Nativity Tuesday.

A parent told Christian Concern, a London-based Christian non-profit, she was “shocked” when she found out.

 

“I picked up my children at the end of the day and they were so upset, saying to me, ‘Mummy, today in assembly the headteacher told everybody that she would be changing the words to the Christmas song.'”

6. BREAKING NEWS: Powerful leader of Iran’s elite Quds Force military unit is killed in rocket strike on Baghdad airport that left at least six others dead including top militiaman behind U.S. embassy attack

Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani, the powerful head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, has been killed in an airstrike at Baghdad International Airport, Iraqi TV and three Iraqi officials officials said Friday. 

 

The officials said the strike also killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq known as the Popular Mobilization Forces, which were responsible for the recent attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. 

 

An official with the PMF blamed the U.S. military for the strike. ‘The American and Israeli enemy is responsible for killing the mujahideen Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani,’ said Ahmed al-Assadi, a PMF spokesman.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that strikes had been carried out against two targets linked to Iran in Baghdad on Thursday but declined to give any further details.  

 

American officials have made no public comments on the strike yet. The Pentagon and the White House did not immediately respond to inquiries from DailyMail.com.
