It’s a tale only the best conspiracy theorist could dream up.
Eleven microbiologists mysteriously dead over the span of just five months. Some of them world leaders in developing weapons-grade biological plagues. Others the best in figuring out how to stop millions from dying because of biological weapons. Still others, experts in the theory of bioterrorism.
Throw in a few Russian defectors, a few nervy U.S. biotech companies, a deranged assassin or two, a bit of Elvis, a couple of Satanists, a subtle hint of espionage, a big whack of imagination, and the plot is complete, if a bit reminiscent of James Bond.
The first three died in the space of just over a week in November. Benito Que, 52, was an expert in infectious diseases and cellular biology at the Miami Medical School. Police originally suspected that he had been beaten on Nov. 12 in a carjacking in the medical school’s parking lot. Strangely enough, though, his body showed no signs of a beating. Doctors then began to suspect a stroke.
Just four days after Dr. Que fell unconscious came the mysterious disappearance of Don Wiley, 57, one of the foremost microbiologists in the United States. Dr. Wiley, of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Harvard University, was an expert on how the immune system responds to viral attacks such as the classic doomsday plagues of HIV, ebola and influenza.
He had just bought tickets to take his son to Graceland the following day. Police found his rental car on a bridge outside Memphis, Tenn. His body was later found in the Mississippi River. Forensic experts said he may have had a dizzy spell and have fallen off the bridge.
Just five days after that, the world-class microbiologist and high-profile Russian defector Valdimir Pasechnik, 64, fell dead. The pathologist who did the autopsy, and who also happened to be associated with Britain’s spy agency, concluded he died of a stroke.
Dr. Pasechnik, who defected to the United Kingdom in 1989, played a huge role in Russian biowarfare and helped to figure out how to modify cruise missiles to deliver the agents of mass biological destruction.
The next two deaths came four days apart in December. Robert Schwartz, 57, was stabbed and slashed with what police believe was a sword in his farmhouse in Leesberg, Va. His daughter, who identifies herself as a pagan high priestess, and several of her fellow pagans have been charged.
Dr. Schwartz was an expert in DNA sequencing and pathogenic micro-organisms, who worked at the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, Va.
Four days later, Nguyen Van Set, 44, died at work in Geelong, Australia, in a laboratory accident. He entered an airlocked storage lab and died from exposure to nitrogen. Other scientists at the animal diseases facility of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization had just come to fame for discovering a virulent strain of mousepox, which could be modified to affect smallpox. (There were a lot more biologists with connections to weapons research or potential for weapons research that died mysteriously around that time. If memory serves, it was the late 90s.)

1. Coronavirus latest news: Five British people diagnosed in French ski resort
Five British people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in France after being infected during a skiing holiday, the country’s health minister has revealed.
The victims, one of whom is a child, were staying in the same ski resort chalet and were infected when one of the group came into contact with someone who had been in Singapore, Agnes Buzyn said this morning.
They are in a stable condition and being constantly monitored at an unnamed hospital in the eastern Haute-Savoie Alpine region of southeastern France.
2. ‘We’re definitely not prepared’: Africa braces for new virus
LUSAKA, Zambia — At a Chinese-run hospital in Zambia, some employees watched as people who recently returned from China showed up with coughs but were not placed in isolation. A doctor tending to those patients has stopped coming to work, and health workers have been ordered not to speak publicly about the new virus that has killed hundreds around the world.
The virus that has spread through much of China has yet to be confirmed in Africa, but global health authorities are increasingly worried about the threat to the continent where an estimated 1 million Chinese now live, as some health workers on the ground warn they are not ready to handle an outbreak.
Countries are racing to take precautions as hundreds of travelers arrive from China every day. Safeguards include stronger surveillance at ports of entry and improved quarantine and testing measures across Africa, home to 1.2 billion people and some of the world’s weakest systems for detecting and treating disease.
Video showing people suspected of having coronavirus being forcefully dragged from their homes has emerged, as the communist regime starts rounding up suffers in Wuhan and taking them to camps.
Officials in protective suits are seen holding onto two people by their arms before a third more resistive man is picked up from the floor and carried away in one shocking clip shared online.
The footage, filmed in Wuhan, comes after China‘s Vice Premier Sun Chunlan called on a ‘people’s war’ against the fast-spreading epidemic.
Last week the country’s central government ordered the city – which is the epicentre of the virus – to round up all suspected patients as well as their close contacts in mass quarantine camps.
4. Manila Corona Virus Feb 8: We are screwed
Mayen Jaymalin (The Philippine Star) – February 7, 2020 – 12:00am MANILA, Philippines — The number of persons under investigation (PUIs) for the 2019-novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019 nCoV ARD) continues to soar, but it is expected to drop dramatically within the next two months, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
At a press conference yesterday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III reported that the total number of PUIs nationwide had reached 178 as of yesterday.
“Of the total 178 PUIs, 147 are admitted in hospitals, 10 have refused admission and 16 have already been discharged under strict monitoring,” Duque said. The health chief further noted that of the total number of PUIs, 84 have tested negative for the virus while laboratory test on samples taken from 127 PUIs are still pending. He said the DOH is now coordinating with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in requiring asymptomatic PUIs to be admitted in health facilities.

6. February 7 update from China Uncensored
On a personal note, people I spoke with locally went to the most popular Chinese restaurant in town at lunch and it was so quiet they did not have the Dim Sum carts out. Strictly order from menu, and the place was nearly deserted and this restaurant is far away from China Town.
The local pharmacy has been out of masks for weeks and cannot even give an estimate for when they may get more as the warehouse has none and refuse to give a restock date. The same for hand sanitizer. It looks like Trudeau’s Canada allows about as much self defence against this virus as it does against crime and totalitarian government. Which is to say none.
(Given that this virus likely was weaponized by China and escaped a ‘level 4 bio lab’ in Wuhan, I think they deserve all the stigmatization we can give them)

Highly rational Wuhan citizen with VPN explaining his experiences in the city now
There is a lot of biblical stuff floating out there about the Wuhan virus. Its very difficult to determine what is information and what is not. One video says: The sound of distant gunfire deters people thinking of escaping the city”.
This is easy to believe.
The man in the video below seems to be among the most rational of voices from what is floating around out there.

Personally I am quite concerned that we have not heard a single report of infection from Vancouver, which is a Chinese city in pretty much every way. If there are cases in Toronto and across the US, why have we heard nothing from Vancouver.

For one, has anyone who had this disease, gotten better already and went home with a body full of immunity? Anyone? or is everyone who has contracted this sick or dead.
Its too early to know the mortality rate of this illness, but there has to be a recovery rate of some kind.

Quebec health officials monitoring 5 people for possible cases of coronavirus
MONTREAL — Six people in Quebec who had recently travelled to China have displayed symptoms of a respiratory virus, a spokesperson for the provincial health ministry said on Wednesday.
It is not yet clear if they are suffering from another type of respiratory virus or Wuhan coronavirus, the spokesperson added. Five of them are being monitored in hospitals in Montreal and Quebec City as a precautionary measure. The ministry did not say which hospitals. A sixth has tested negative for the virus and has been discharged from the hospital.
The announcement came after the health ministry announced it was on watch for the virus and was taking pre-emptive measures to warn doctors, nurses and other health officials. […]
At airports, provincial health officials are monitoring incoming travelers from China and Thailand — those countries are considered “under surveillance” according to a spokesperson for the health minister.

A third city in China is going into lockdown as officials battle to stop the spread of the deadly new coronavirus that has killed 17, left hundreds seriously ill and potentially infected thousands.
Major Chinese New Year events in Beijing have been cancelled, authorities in Ezhou have shut down train stations, and Huanggang has announced it will suspend public buses and trains as well as ordering cinemas and internet cafes to close their doors.
The development comes as Wuhan – the city at the centre of the outbreak – remains in lockdown, with all flights in and out cancelled, residents banned from leaving and scenes of chaos as desperate families fight for food supplies.
Official figures show almost 600 patients have been struck down by the disease – but scientists yesterday warned as many as 10,000 people could have been infected in Wuhan alone. Experts said they couldn’t rule out the SARS-like virus already being in the UK. Others have said no virus has spread this far this quickly since SARS in 2003.
Chinese officials are disinfecting whole streets and parks with clouds of gas and chilling footage has emerged of roadside quarantine tents, hastily erected to isolate suspected cases. One resident told the BBC the atmosphere in the city felt like ‘the end of the world’.
I wonder if the Chinese helped Trudeau get elected along with Iran and Obama’s cadre of Frankfurt School leftists? Or if the woman who stole this virus from a Canadian lab was not vetted properly for any special reason.
Also it might be a good time to point out the bio-research facility in Varennes Quebec that according to its staff photo, was ALL religious muslims except for a couple of people, and one or two of which is in jail for planning to attack trains and other targets in Canada and the US in various ways.
Speaking of which, keep a close eye on the train derailment story out of Toronto yesterday as well. There are sources that suggest this was not an accident.

The difficulty is that the photo immediately below may not be an accurate representation of the staff. But it was pulled from the company website at the time the initial arrest was made, and the company sent in an email demanding it be pulled as they owned the CR on the photo. Which at least suggests that it was indeed the company webpage header as we saw it at the time. I have the whole page backed up on a separate drive in case it matters.
South Park takes a stand on China
The adult TV cartoon show, South Park, once again shows backbone where nearly no one else, and certainly of that stature and audience reach, does.
In an earlier season of South Park they did a two part episode on the Danish Cartoon Crisis called, “Cartoon Wars”. Anyone who hasn’t seen it owes it to themselves to seek them out and watch. They are brilliantly and courageously done.
And in terms of the Hong Kong protests and Chinese government issue, South Park’s stand is as brave as is their stance for freedom of speech. In fact, this is about freedom of speech.
They stand to lose as much as anyone on opposing China’s communist government and in fact they are now banned in China.
This short clip is from the end of Season 23, episode 3 and part of a 2 part episode sting of episodes 2 and 3. Well worth the effort to watch them both.
