NATO suspends training of new Afghan recruits

NATO has suspended the training of new recruits for the Afghan security forces until a vetting process has been completed. The decision comes after a string of attacks by Afghan security forces on coalition troops.

The temporary training freeze will affect some 1,000 new police recruits, while the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) investigates Afghan troops for links to the Taliban-led insurgency.

According to the US daily The Washington Post, some 27,000 current members of the Afghan security forces are being re-vetted for links to the insurgency.

  1. It took them long enough to realize this was needed, any Nam vet could have told them to do this from day 1.

    FYI the US military had that war won when the politicians pulled us out, North Vietnam gives the credit for the victory to the US war protesters.

    After our troops were pulled out the North had to use more men and tanks to take the South then Germany needed to take Europe in WWII.

  3. Yep, Richard, you’re right. We can all thank Hanoi Jane not only for the Americans that died in vain and the POWs that were tortured to death after her betrayal, but also for the horrific slaughter and suffering administered to the civilians at the hands of the North.
    Betcha Jane isn’t too keen to hear about that part…
    This was a painful lesson about propaganda and how gullible the Left was and STILL is.
