For those of you who have not seen the BBC documentary on the horrors of the Afghan police and military where they, among other things, shoot little boys kept as sexual slaves if they try and escape, it is well worth seeing for context here.

Despite Afghan president Karzai demanding that American Special Forces cease operations in Wardak province (is west of the capital) last month, the U.S. is still there and investigating the Karzai accusations that the Special Forces were responsible for mistreatment (kidnapping, torture, and murder) of Afghan civilians there. The Afghan government is demanding the investigations be completed in a few days but the Americans refuse to rush it. The Americans have already demonstrated that Afghan soldiers and police, which the Americans do not directly control, are often responsible for what Western media calls atrocities but are the sort of nasty stuff Afghans have been doing to each other for thousands of years. There’s definitely a culture clash going on here. Karzai has admitted as much with recent public calls for Afghan troops and police to handle civilians more gently and not go old-school on them so frequently.

 

The Wardak accusations (and similar ones) appear to be a Taliban Information War effort, in collusion with senior Afghan officials (including Karzai himself) to use false accusations of atrocities to generate media and diplomatic pressure to force American troops out of areas where the Taliban is taking a beating. This use of media manipulation and corrupt Afghan officials is one of the Taliban’s most promising tactics. The Taliban is trying this despite the fact that it’s widely known that 80 percent of civilian casualties and nearly all the acts that could be described as atrocities are carried out by the Taliban. This latest effort, involving president Karzai himself, is one of the boldest ever. In response the Americans are collecting a lot of evidence of who did what to whom. Karzai can (and may well) declare all of the American evidence lies. After that the Taliban Information War offensive will continue.

A Pakistani soldier was publicly stoned to death on the order of a tribal court for having an affair with a local woman, it has been claimed today.

Punjab native Anwar Din, 27, was posted in the country’s northwestern Kurram region last year to the Parachinar area where he met Intizar Bibi, 19, while manning a checkpost near her home.

The two embarked on a romantic relationship, tribal sources and government officials said, and he tried to elope with her when he was later posted to the disputed Kashmir region.

It was not immediately clear what evidence there was, if any, of a romance.

‘The girl left her home on Monday and met Anwar Din when villagers saw them,’ said Munir Hussain, the head of the local jirga, or tribal court, that sentenced Din to death.

‘We took the girl into custody and took the boy to the local graveyard where he was stoned to death and buried.’

Din was killed on Monday, he added. A government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the jirga had ruled the woman must be shot to death. It was not immediately clear if this had already taken place.

 

The army was not immediately available for comment.

Such tribal justice is a stark reminder of the difficulty in establishing a credible civilian administration in Pakistan’s semi-autonomous region bordering Afghanistan, despite a series of military operations in the area and Western nations pouring in millions of dollars to help build infrastructure.

Kurram, the only part of Pakistan’s largely lawless border region that has a significant Shi’ite population, is wracked by sectarian violence between Sunni and Shi’ite tribes. Anti-Shi’ite ideology from the Taliban and al Qaeda has meant years of bloody fighting.

Bibi is Shi’ite while Din was Sunni, Hussain added.

BBC 30 minute show on Afghanistan, child rape and corruption by police and military

The BBC recently did a rather unusually honest program on the state of things in Afghanistan today. While it fails to mention the role of Islam in the cascade of horrors that make having a civilization impossible there, it does at least show the child-rape, dishonesty in dealing with it as a problem, massive massive corruption, drug abuse, catastrophically dangerous procedures, and frankly, a police force more active in multiple crimes than pretty much most criminal gangs police typically stop in real countries.

The program is not available to be seen outside of the UK and is only online for a few more weeks. But someone managed to make a bit torrent out of it.

Anyone interested and familiar with bit torrenting can click here to get the file needed to get the program. Anyone who wants to see the program can download one of the many free programs for bit torrenting, one of them called ‘Bit Torrent‘ and once installed, can click the link and select that program to open this. So long as many people are ‘seeding’ it, then it should be delivered quickly.

I look forward to the comments on this one. It is quite surprising for the BBC. To those familiar with the mission to Afghanistan, or to anyone who has been there or knows someone who has, it is at least vindicating that a large media outlet is at least admitting some components of the truth.

Karzai orders US special forces out of Afghan province

It will be interesting to see what happens if the US and West in general ever get leadership that decides to try winning.

The Afghan president has ordered US special forces to leave Wardak province within two weeks.

The decision was being taken due to allegations of disappearances and torture by Afghans considered to be part of US special forces, said a spokesman for Hamid Karzai.

The strategically significant, central province of Wardak has been the recent focus of counter-insurgency operations.

A US statement said it took all allegations of misconduct seriously.

But the US could not comment specifically on this latest development “until we have had a chance to speak with senior government officials”, the statement by a spokesman for US special forces said.

“This is an important issue that we must discuss with our Afghan counterparts,” the statement said.

The Afghan president’s office said the decision to order the expulsion of US special forces had been taken at a meeting of the National Security Council.

I wrote this piece in order to attempt to get a little bit of peace and closure. I have been a reader of this Blog along with many others in the Counter Jihad internet scene. This started as a comment but now I have been asked to turn it into an article. I am very honored to do this. It brings me a feeling like my beliefs, my sacrifices, and my constant pain are not totally in vain.

I was adopted by a wonderful blue collar couple at the age of 9 months. From what I know my birth parents were drug addicts and I was left at the Hospital. My adoptive parents who I will FOREVER consider my REAL Parents, have saved my life many times. My father dropped out of school in the 1950’s in 8th grade to help his family. Growing up my parents gave me a good life, but I did have traits from those birth parents. I was bullied in school like many are today. My solution at 9 years old was to punch my bully in the face in front of the entire class. Little did I know being an angry and dumb kid that turned me into the “bad kid”. I was never bullied again though, but I paid an incredible price for it.

Thank goodness somewhere in my family tree there was some intelligence. I was lucky enough to be a smart kid but angry. Fast Forward to my 18th birthday. I got drunk on a boat at a party and talked to this old man who told me all sorts of war stories about the military and Vietnam. Now with my experience I know he was a liar, a Stolen Valor scumbag, but at 18 his stories led me to show up at the Marine recruiters office Monday morning. He learned I had a police record for fighting a mile long and told me ‘no go’.

The Sailor in the Navy office grabbed me in the parking lot, told me a ton of lies, went to court to get my Juvi record expunged, and got me to sign my life away for 6 years.

I knew nothing about the military. I was a real cherry, scared of boot camp and all. 11 weeks later at Great Lakes IL I graduated as Honor Recruit, Ship 111, Division 444. I watched as tears of pride came down my Fathers eye, a man I constantly let down. He told me on his deathbed it was the proudest day of his life. While boot camp was easy, making my Father cry with pride was a crowning achievement of my life!

I went through some schools, and went to the Green Side Navy. That is Sailors who work in Marine Corps Commands. From then on I was finally home. I belonged. I went 100mph through the next 10 years, with the end goal to become a Master Chief. Living so fast one hardly has safety on your mind so I got hurt a lot. I broke bones, recovered and got hurt again and again. I was happy, life meant something. On 9/11 while terrible, to many of us or at least to me at the time it meant War, and it meant payback for 3000+ Americans, and if it meant my life well, that’s how it goes. Continue Reading →

Taliban killing aid workers, claiming its ‘western plot to sterilize Muslims’

The moral equivocation done at the second half of this clip is pretty disgusting however. As if all these people know about the details of the Bin Laden affair and even if they did, that this program could be connected to that one event. It is also interesting that Pakistan jailed the doctor who assisted specifically for treason. This is highly meaningful and means that Obama’s original campaign promise of 2008 should probably be implemented. The one where he talked about taking the war to Pakistan. I mean of course, more than he already has, which is more than most know.

In any case, the west has a lot of retaliatory options. For one thing, no-one from any of these regions should be allowed to so much as visit a Western nation without proof of vaccination or accepting an injection which protects the rest of us, assuming such a thing exists. Polio has been defeated in the Western world. I see no reason why we should accept defeat to that disease in order to be polite to those who refuse treatment for it and worse, murder those who attempt to administer the cure.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) – Three workers in a polio eradication campaign were shot in Pakistan on Wednesday, and two of them were killed, the latest in an unprecedented string of attacks over the past three days that has partially halted the U.N.-backed campaign.

The United Nations in Pakistan has pulled all staff involved in the campaign off the streets, spokesman Michael Coleman said.

The government said immunization was continuing in some areas without U.N. support although many workers refused to go out. Women health workers held protests in the southern city of Karachi and in the capital, Islamabad.

The Taliban murdered five women polio health workers in a series of attacks in Pakistan today.

The victims were shot in the head at close range, two of them as they administered vaccine drops to young children.

The killings halted a polio campaign that international health officials say is vital to contain the crippling disease but which the Taliban claim is a cover for US spies.

    A proposed new Army manual says its cultural ignorance on the part of American soldiers that causes Afghan soldiers to kill them. (Reuters)

A proposed new handbook for Americans serving in Afghanistan warns them not to speak ill about the Taliban, advocate women’s rights or criticize pedophilia, and the general in charge is not happy with it.

The draft of the newest Army handbook seems to suggest that ignorance of Afghan culture is to blame for deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces, according to The Wall Street Journal, which got a peek at the 75-page document. But its message of walking on eggshells around the locals is not going over well with U.S. Marine Gen. John Allen, the top military commander in Afghanistan.

“Gen. Allen did not author, nor does he intend to provide, a foreword,” said Col. Tom Collins, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan. “He does not approve of its contents.”

More than three dozen attacks by Afghan soldiers have claimed the lives of some 63 members of the U.S.-led coalition this year. The insider attacks could jeopardize plans to transfer full security control to Afghan forces in 2014.

But a claim by their own government that they’re to blame is not likely to buoy the spirits of Americans risking their lives to serve.

Afghanistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Mohammad Ismail Khan on Thursday said that the process of creating a military unit made up of the former mujahedeen fighters is underway to protect and secure Afghanistan because Nato had failed to do so.

Ismail Khan said in a gathering with former regional Jihadi commanders in west and southwest Afghanistan that the Mujahedeen should also be given more roles in the government as the foreign armies – the Nato-led international security assistance force Isaf – had failed to ensure stability in the country.

He emphasised that just as the Mujahedeen had previously driven out the foreign invaders, the Soviets, so too there was now a need for the Mujahedeen to again rescue the country from “foreign conspiracies”.

“The foreigners sidelined those who had fought for ages,” Ismail Khan said in western Herat province.

“They collected all our weapons, our artillery and tanks, and put them on the rubbish heap. Instead, they brought Dutch girls, French girls, girls from Holland, they armed American girls, they brought white-skinned Western soldiers, and black-skinned American soldiers, and they thought by doing all this they would bring security here but they failed,” he added.

Khan claimed that President Hamid Karzai is aware of the plans to re-form the mujahedeen armed forces.

“We have had detailed discussions with President Hamid Karzai, who is a Mujahed himself. We are planning on this strategy and the registration of people is underway,” he said.

Taliban can run for the Afghan presidency

The Afghan election commission has said that the Taliban can stand in the country’s next presidential elections in 2014; a move that experts say can prove to be a double-edged sword for the war-torn nation.

Afghanistan’s next presidential elections are scheduled for April 5, 2014 and are seen by most observers as one of the most crucial elections in Afghanistan’s history, as they could either put the Afghan nation on the path of stability or plunge it into deeper turmoil.

Hamid Karzai, who is serving his second term as Afghanistan’s president, is constitutionally barred from running for president for a third time, and there is no prominent or popular candidate in sight.
