French police have uncovered bomb-making material during a probe into a group of Islamic extremists detained at the weekend for allegedly targeting Jews, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Describing the group as a serious threat, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said the detention of the 12 suspects pending charges would be extended beyond the usual four-day maximum to at least a fifth day.

“We are clearly and objectively facing an extremely dangerous terrorist cell,” Molins said in a statement, adding that it was necessary to “avoid the risk of a terrorist attack in France”.

He said “components useful for bomb-making” had been found overnight during police searches of buildings in the eastern Paris suburb of Torcy, where two of the suspects were detained on Saturday.

Among the components found were bags of potassium nitrate, sulphur, saltpetre, pressure cookers and headlight bulbs, “all products or instruments useful in the making of what we call improvised explosives,” Molins said.

France’s Hollande vows more security for Jewish people after increase in islamic violence

I would like to thank EDL Buck for several tips he sent me today including this one

From European Freedom Initiative:

French President François Hollande pledged on Sunday to increase security around synagogues and introduce tougher anti-terrorism measures, a day after a series of police raids dismantled a radical Islamist network that targeted Jews.

    French President Francois Hollande

Seeking to calm the fears of France’s Jewish community, the largest in Europe, Mr. Hollande invited seven leaders of Jewish groups to the presidential palace where he promised support to fight a rash of anti-Semitic attacks.

“I have reaffirmed that the state will not compromise in fighting racism and anti-Semitism. Nothing must be tolerated,” Hollande told reporters outside the presidential palace.

Tensions are high in the Jewish community over a series of attacks and threats. They have ranged from death threats against the chief rabbi of Lyon, to an attack with a hammer and iron bars on three young Jewish men.

On Saturday evening, blank bullets were fired from a car at a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil while worshippers were inside.

In the worst such violence, three children and a rabbi were shot dead in March outside a Jewish school in Toulouse by a radical Islamist inspired by al Qaeda, who also killed three soldiers in a 10-day rampage.

London council set to remove ‘anti-Semitic’ mural showing Jewish bankers

This is ‘art’ in Tower Hamlets. It should be noted that Muslims have a special hate on for Masons as much as Jews. Not sure why exactly but there is a great deal of material on Islam and its special loathing for Free Masonry. We see the symbols of both in this mural.

A mural painted on a wall in East London depicting Jewish bankers apparently exploiting black men is set to be removed following complaints that it has anti-Semitic undertones.

The council of the London borough of Tower Hamlets has called in the police and reportedly given the owner of the property 28 days to remove it.

The mural, titled Freedom for Humanity, depicts a group of businessmen and bankers counting money around a Monopoly-style board balanced on the backs of men with dark complexions. It was reportedly spray-painted on private property.

The Los Angeles-based artist, Kalen Ockerman, acknowledged that some of the bankers were Jewish but said the mural was not anti-Semitic.

PARIS (AP) — Police carried out raids across France on Saturday after DNA on a grenade that exploded last month at a kosher grocery store led them to a suspected jihadist cell of young Frenchmen recently converted to Islam.

The man whose DNA was identified, named by police as Jeremy Sydney, was killed by police after he opened fire on them, slightly wounding three officers in the eastern city of Strasbourg. Officials said he had been under surveillance since last spring — around the time a French Islamic went on a shooting rampage against a Jewish school and French soldiers, killing seven people.

Ten other suspects, aged between 19 and 25, were arrested across the country on Saturday. One man was carrying a loaded gun, and police found weapons, cash and a list of Paris-area Israeli associations during the raids.

Criticizing Islam taboo in academia, says ex-Yale expert

Jihad Watch:

Apart from the “radical” puffery, this is dead-on. “Criticizing Islam taboo in academia: ex-Yale expert says,” by Janice Arnold for Canadian Jewish News, October 2 (thanks to Lachlan):

MONTREAL — Academics who study Islamic antisemitism are risking career advancement and younger scholars are shying away from the subject as a result, said Montreal native Charles A. Small, who headed a Yale University program in antisemitism until it was shut down last year amid controversy. The Oxford-educated Small is currently the Koret Distinguished Scholar at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution in California and director of the New York-based Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, which he founded.

Attacked: a kosher supermarket

An original Translation by Michael Laudahn:

from Le Figaro

A kosher supermarket at Sarcelles (Val-d’Oise) was the taraget, today around noon, of an attack carried out by two persons armed with a grenade ‘of low power’, which left one person slightly injured but caused few damages, has been communicated by various coinciding sources.

Four persons were taken to the Gonesse hospital, one of them suffering from contusions at the arm, the other three being in a state of shock, according to the firefighters. A police source mentioned a ‘low-power grenade’. The direction interrégionale of the police judiciaire (DIPJ) [CID] at Versailles is in charge of the investigation.

By the middle of the afternoon, none of the presumed aggressors had been arrested, according to the source. ‘A plaster grenade has broken the store’s glass door, it was not an inflammable or explosive object’, declared Marc Djeballi, responsible of the city’s jewish community, who repaired to the location. ‘The damages are minor’, he added. ‘There was in fact an attack at the interior of a kosher supermarket at Sarcelles, around noon time’, including ‘two individuals wearing black clothes who threw an object’, announced earlier Richard Prasquier, président du Conseil Représentatif des Institutions Juives de France (CRIF).

At this time, no link can be established between this attack and the tensions triggered by the islamophobe film Innocence of Muslims or the caricatures of the prophet Mohammed, today published by Charlie Hebdo [satirical weekly]. ‘Many people stock up just before the Kippur fest, which falls on coming wednesday’, explained for his part Moshé Cohen-Sabban, président des communautés juives du Val-d’Oise.

According to him, presently there are no particular inter-community problems at Sarcelles, ‘despite problems of rudeness’. ‘But there is a strong climate of antisemitism at a national level. For no specific cause, this can easily escalate’, he explained.

Sammy Ghozlan, président du Bureau National de Vigilance Contre les Actes Antisémites (BNVCAA), said that the two aggressors, who had their faces masked, threw a big ‘grenade’ into the store, a ‘supérette’.

The président du consistoire, Joël Mergui, announced that he was repairing to the site. Numerous CRS vehicles  were stationed at the city limits, at the access to the police station.   Sarcelles, at times monikered ‘petite Jérusalem’, popular municipality counting 60 000 inhabitants north of Paris, accomodates a relevant jewish community which came from northern Africa in the 1960s.

Peaceful Muslims in France promise to slit the throat of Jews

check the chant at 2:30. By now everyone likely knows the chant about Kaybar. If not, Ill add an explanation later.

H/T Martin

At around 2:30 you hear a chant that is roughly, ‘Kaybar Kaybar something something al Yehud’

Andrew Bostom was kind enough to send me the following explanation for that chant

Muhammad’s failures or incomplete successes were consistently recompensed by murderous attacks on the Jews. The Muslim prophet-warrior developed a penchant for assassinating individual Jews, and destroying Jewish communities ”by expropriation and expulsion (Banu Quaynuqa and B. Nadir), or massacring their men, and enslaving their women and children (Banu Qurayza). Just before subduing the Medinan Jewish tribe Banu Qurayza and orchestrating the mass execution of their adult males, Muhammad invoked perhaps the most striking Koranic motif for the Jews debasement–”he addressed these Jews, with hateful disparagement, as “You brothers of monkeys.” Subsequently, in the case of the Khaybar Jews, Muhammad had the male leadership killed, and plundered their riches. The terrorized Khaybar survivors ”industrious Jewish farmers ”became prototype subjugated dhimmis whose productivity was extracted by the Muslims as a form of permanent booty. (And according to the Muslim sources, even this tenuous vassalage was arbitrarily terminated within a decade of Muhammad’s death when Caliph Umar expelled the Jews of Khaybar.)

Compilation of articles on the attack on the rabbi in Germany

Hermes was kind enough to summarize and compile some reports on this incident reported earlier today here. Thank you Hermes for all your consistent and excellent hard work.

“This was an attack against freedom of religion”

[…]

The attack took place at 6:20 p.m. in the Becker Street, which is part of the “painters’ district” in Friedenau. Here where the streets bear the names of artists like Cranach and Rubens lives the Rabbi with his wife and two children. Neighbors who live in the same building are horrified. “We are shocked by what happened,” says a 68-year-old neighbor, “and in the presence of his little daughter.” The district is of middle-class style, but there are certain problems with an “accumulation” of Arab youths who live in a new block of flats in the nearby Dürer Square. The block near the Friedenau train station was inhabited by Arab families, whose children went in groups and were often aggressive. The worst times were some years ago, but then the inhabitants created the citizen’s initiative “Dürer-neighborhood” in order to make improvements in the district.

“Everything got better after the apartment house was renovated,” the pensioner said. This initiative ceased to exist two years ago. The owner of the trattoria in Becker Street, in which the rabbi is a regular customer, confirms that there are problems with the Arabs. “The rabbi is a peaceful, quiet and courteous man. Where do we live, that someone is beaten because of his faith?” the Italian restaurant owner asks angrily. The rabbi had dinner in his restaurant that night, and at that time he saw “Arab youths” walking nearby and lighting their cigarettes. He noticed nothing about the attack, because a hedge obstructed the view. “The rabbi ran towards me, he had wounds on his face,” the owner said. Dürer Square is one block away, surrounded by the railway station underpass, an Aldi-Market and pastel-colored apartment blocks

Jewish community sees an increased number of attacks

After the attack against a rabbi in Berlin, a debate on anti-Semitism and possible causes for the attack has erupted. The four perpetrators, who according to the police were youths of Arab origin, have not yet been detained. The Jewish community in Berlin announced that they are planning to develop their own data bank to register anti-Semitic incidents from 2013 on. “The verbal attacks against Jews have increased,” said Gideon Joffe, the chair of the community.

[…]

Rabbi Walter Rothschild spoke about a “new dimension”. He himself has been already attacked and also received insulting emails. Rothschild additionally reported that he no longer wears the traditional Jewish head covering (kippah) in public.

Everyday hate against Jews on the streets of Germany

The brutal attack against a rabbi in Berlin has not taken the Jewish community of the capital by surprise. Anti-Semitism has been increasing for a long time. It is prevalent especially amongst Turks and Arabs.

On Wednesday Muslim organizations and associations have condemned the attack against the rabbi from Berlin. “I condemn the incident in the name of the 17 Arab organizations which belong to this center,” said Ali Maarous, the director of the German-Arab Center.

[…]

The attack was no surprise for the Jewish community in Berlin. “Members of the community have been experiencing increasing verbal anti-Semitism for a long time,” said Gideon Joffe, the president of the community, on Wednesday. “For us it was just a matter of time that words would be followed by concrete actions. We hope that here there will not be an atmosphere like in Sweden, France or The Netherlands, where attacks against Jews happen almost daily.”

Anti-Semitism amongst Turks and Arabs

As recently as August 7, a drunken man insulted a couple in Friedrichshain in an anti-Semitic way and threatened them. One year ago, a 13-year-old was beaten in Prenzlauer Berg because he was wearing a kippah. Some years ago several youths of Arab origin attacked orthodox Jews in Charlottenburg.

Just two years ago, the Jewish community pointed to an increasing level of anti-Semitism, mostly amongst young Turks and Arabs. The Foundation Amadeu-Antonio has for a long time labelled anti-Semitism as the main problem in “huge urban residential areas with predominantly Muslim inhabitants.”

The German-Arab Center sees the origin of anti-Semitism in the Arab countries from which the members of the Arab communities come. “The parents follow the conflict in their homelands daily, even when living here in Germany,” the director of the center, Ali Maarous said. They are furious about what happens in their homelands.

“This fury and the hate then passes to the children,” Maarous said. The center works on the task of educating young people. Youth have been told in numerous seminars to stay away from political disputes and to deal with them in a rational way.

Muslims Attack 6-Year-Old Jewish Girl and Father

Front Page Mag:

There’s one thing that the Thousand Year Reich and the Thousand Year Multicultural EU have in common. Neither of them are workable. Both end with attacks on Jews.

A 53-year-old Jewish man and his six-year-old daughter have become victims of an anti-Semitic attack in downtown Berlin which was reportedly committed by four youth of Arab origin. The man had to be brought to hospital with wounds at his head. Reportedly, one of the youth asked the man, who wore a kippah: “Are you a Jew?” He then hit him on the head several times and insulted his religion and his mother. He also threatened to kill the six-year-old girl.

But proving that Jewish leaders are equally clueless in Berlin as they are in New York or Los Angeles, the head of the president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany had these words of wisdom to offer.

British schools are increasingly dropping the Jewish Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, according to a report entitled, Teaching Emotive and Controversial History, commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills.

British teachers are also reluctant to discuss the medieval Crusades, in which Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem: lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.
