Is the Mass Murderer Anders Behring Breivik Insane? Part 1

From Gates of Vienna:

Last week the official psychiatric report on Anders Behring Breivik was leaked to a major newspaper in Norway. Below is the first installment of Fjordman’s three-part analysis of the report.

Fjordman

Is the Mass Murderer Anders Behring Breivik Insane?

Part 1: The Nordic Mohammed

by Fjordman

Anders Behring Breivik in two different attacks on 22 July 2011 became the worst mass murderer in modern Scandinavian history. He killed a total of 77 people, 8 with a car bomb outside a government office building in central Oslo, and the remaining 69 with a massacre of unprecedented scope and brutality when spent nearly an hour and a half methodically shooting people attending a summer camp of the Workers’ Youth League (AUF) on the island of Utøya outside of Oslo. He also wounded many others, mentally and physically.

Oslo aftermath

ABB has confessed to carrying out these attacks, claiming that his actions were “atrocious but necessary.” There is also plenty of technical evidence, with videos and numerous witnesses. This represents a rather rare case where we can be virtually 100% that the man who is in custody really did commit the crime in question.

Other things remain controversial, however. Due to the great scope of the massacre, many people, myself included, initially wondered whether there were several perpetrators. Norwegian police after conducting months of investigation claim that ABB acted alone and was not part of a wider terror network. Perhaps this made him harder for the security services to detect.

FJORDMAN INTERVIEW IN GERMAN PAPER JUNGE FREIHEIT: EUROPE IS THE SICK MAN OF THE WORLD

Here are Fjordman’s original English replies by email to questions from the Berlin-based weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit, where they have been published in German translation in their latest issue. Fjordman once belonged to the Norwegian cultural Left, he even took to being an ‘observer’ in the Palestinian Authority and in Hebron, as well as studying Arabic in Cairo, Egypt. In the aftermath of 9/11 however, Fjordman became disgusted with media’s coverup of the Arab delight over the mass murder in New York and in Washington, noticing that the media behaved in much the same way in their reporting on Israel as well.  KGS

Fjordman: “Europe is the sick man of the world”

I was asked whether it was OK to publish a few of my essays in German, and I said yes. I am currently completing a different kind of book in English called The Curious Civilization, which should be available at some point in 2012. Germany is a very important country for the future of Europe as a whole so it is of great significance to be published there. The title Defending Europe is appropriate in my view because European civilization is going through a low point in its history right now. Today, merely saying positive about the European cultural heritage and the peoples who created it is almost considered a sign of extremism.

Bat Ye’or is one of my spiritual mentors. She has described with frightening precision the organizational and mental mechanisms behind the ongoing Islamization of the Western world.

I have never once met Anders Behring Breivik in my entire life and have been checked out of the case by the police after an extremely thorough investigation that at best operated at the very fringes of what could be considered legal. I am obviously aware of the fact that I am one of the many people who have been quoted a number of times in ABB’s so-called manifesto. I intensely dislike this, as most sensible people would do in my place, but since all of my writings are available on the Internet there is, sadly, little I can do about that. I see no reason why others should be held accountable for the acts of an insane person they have never met.

I did seriously consider quitting as a writer in the immediate aftermath of the terror attacks due to the immense international pressure on my person at that time and because I genuinely felt horrible about being quoted by such a man. Being dragged into the Breivik case against my will is the worst thing that ever happened to me in my life. After coming to my senses and recharging my mental batteries I decided to continue after all. I remain dedicated to the truth. Whatever was true before Breivik is also true after Breivik. If I ever quit as a writer I want this to be my own choice, not something I am forced to do by others.

To VG and Aftenposten: Do the Right Thing and Publish Breivik’s Comments

Gates of Vienna

Below is Fjordman’s response to Norwegian media outlets after one of them published falsehoods about him — deliberately or otherwise — in relation to the Anders Behring Breivik case.

Fjordman

On December 23, 2011, the newspaper Verdens Gang (VG) ran an online article entitled “Slik var kontakten mellom ‘Fjordman’ og Breivik” — “This is what the contact was like between ‘Fjordman’ and Breivik.” That same afternoon the public broadcaster NRK also quoted information that came directly from confidential statements I had given to Norwegian police in the fall of 2011.

The police thus managed to leak to both the country’s largest newspaper and its largest TV and radio broadcaster on the same day.

Leaks to the mass media in the Breivik case have continued. They involve not only me, but also other witnesses. Aftenposten published a story based on the statements of survivors from the Utøya massacre. Police lawyer Christian Hatlo admitted that the numerous media leaks have become a serious problem for them. Some witnesses no longer dare tell the police what they know, because they fear being exposed in the press.

In my case, the leaks wouldn’t have been so bad if only the reports by VG and NRK had accurately reflected what my police statement says. Unfortunately, the two media outlets did no such thing. Since this is classified information, protected by official police secrecy, the general public cannot verify for themselves whether this is true or not. Continue Reading →

An Open Letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg

This article from Gates of Vienna, and is a letter written by Fjordman.

In his New Year’s speech, the prime minister of Norway made a thinly-veiled (and antagonistic) reference to Fjordman. Below is Fjordman’s response.

Fjordman

Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg heads a three-party left-wing coalition government. In his prestigious New Year’s speech that was delivered on national TV over several channels on January 1, 2012, the prime minister said many fine things. He also stated the following:

“The Internet at its worst is when totalitarian seducers are allowed to remain unchallenged in dark corners of the Net. We have to face this with resolve. We shall drive them out with the light of knowledge. Voicing opposition to extremism is taking responsibility for the future.”

He didn’t openly call for censorship as such, but he promoted the term ytringsansvar, which could be translated as “speech responsibility”, or “responsible speech”. Critical observers might reasonably claim that this neologism is frequently used as a code word for Multicultural censorship of anything related to the ongoing mass immigration. The prime minister advocated that people should become more active digital watchdogs and simply say “No, you are wrong” when confronted with extreme opinions.

I don’t necessarily disagree with the proposition that we should confront extremist opinions when we encounter them, but who determines what is to be considered “extreme”? For instance, I maintain that the immigration policies promoted by virtually all Western government today would be considered fairly extreme from a long historical perspective. Is it not an “extreme” outcome when the native population of European countries will, with mathematical certainty, be reduced to a minority in their own countries within a few decades, if present trends continue?

In response to Prime Minister Stoltenberg, who promotes speech responsibility, writer Christian Skaug has introduced the term lytteansvar, that is, a “responsibility to listen”. The Western ruling classes suffer from a listening deficit, especially when it comes to their immigration policies. They don’t properly listen or take into account the wishes of their own people in this regard. Continue Reading →

A message from Fjordman to donors

“I promised earlier that I would send emails thanking each individual person who has donated money through Paypal to the Fjordman Relocation Fund via Vlad’s blog. I intend to keep that promise, but I have been too busy over the past few weeks to do anything about this. I will send emails to more donors today and tomorrow, wishing them a Happy New Year. I should have covered most donors within 48 hours but still have a few ones left. I hope to have covered all of you by the end of January. I need a working email address in order to do this, though. In a couple of cases, the email addresses I have do not seem to work.”

Fjordman: A message to all readers and donors to the relocation fund.

I keep getting questions about the Fjordman Relocation Fund.

Yes, I have a bank account, but I prefer not to post that kind of information online. I do get the money if you donate it to this website via Paypal and mark it for me. People have generally been very generous. I am grateful for that. The first ones have already received thank-you emails. I will continue with this in December and perhaps into January to make sure that all donors with a working email address should receive an email from me.

I now have enough to cover the expenses associated with moving out of my old flat in Oslo, which I already did, and into a new location somewhere else. That was the primary goal of this fund drive, hence the name. Since people have been very generous I took the liberty of spending a little bit of the money also on paying legal costs. I hope people don’t mind this. I will have to deal with most of the legal costs later, but this is a start.

Since I technically speaking only had the status as a witness, albeit a “witness” who had his apartment ransacked and his computer equipment confiscated by the police, I have to cover all of the expenses for lawyers myself. Ironically, I would have enjoyed greater rights if I had been charged with something, which I was not.

According to the latest information I got from the police I have been checked out of the Breivik case as far as they are concerned. They didn’t find anything that could tie me to the case since there was nothing to find in the first place. I even got my socks back, after 100 days in captivity.

Fjordman: A message to donors (with thanks)

Before I post Fjordman’s note here, I would like to add one of my own. Recently, a few people have also been kind enough to donate to my site as well. I would like you to know how much I appreciate that, especially as economics around the world seem to be growing grim. So thank you very very much. It is both much appreciated, and without going into details, also much needed.

Please let me stress as he says in his note below, if you are contributing to Fjordman, please do put a note in the paypal field saying that it is for Fjordman.

Thank you all again for reading, your encouragement, your ideas and comments as well as donations.

Below, is text from Fjordman re his relocation fund given to me at 11:30 EST Nov 16 2011

As promised, I sent the first thank-you emails to some of those who donated to the Fjordman Relocation Fund this weekend.

I intend to send an email to each and every person who donated money, even if it was 4 US dollars. That’s what the Baron and Dymphna do at the Gates of Vienna, so I can do no less. However, because I have to spend most of my time on other issues, it could take me weeks to complete this process.

And yes, if you donate to Paypal at Vlad’s blog and mark it for the Fjordman Relocation Fund I will get it eventually. People have been very generous. I already have enough to pay for some of my basic expenses related to moving to a new location. Legal expenses I must deal with later.

If you have a few bucks to spare, please consider donating to Vlad’s blog, the Gates of Vienna, the Tundra Tabloids, Europe News or some of the other websites that you enjoy and follow on a regular basis. Yes, the people doing this work are idealists, but even idealists need to eat sometimes.

THE FJORDMAN REPORT: THE IRON BURKA OF WESTERN MULTICULTURALISM

The Tundra Tabloids publishes the following report by Fjordman, here first on Vlad Tepes, on the political Iron Burka that has fallen over Western Europe. KGS

The Iron Burka

By Fjordman

According to sharia, nonMuslim dhimmis can on certain conditions be allowed to retain their lives under Islamic rule, provided that they are totally submissive to Muslims at all times. Any perceived insult, however slight, could immediately trigger violent retaliations. In practice, a mere rumor that somebody has done something which displeases Muslims can cause murders. This is how the few remaining Christians in Pakistan, for instance, live on a daily basis.

If just a single nonMuslim says anything critical about Islam, his entire community can in principle be punished for this. Basically, this means that if one person in the USA or Denmark makes a cartoon mocking Muhammad, this could potentially trigger Jihadist attacks against his entire country for “waging a war against Islam” because his “tribe” is held collectively responsible for his actions. This was the Islamic logic behind the terrorist attack in Stockholm in 2010. There is no such thing as an individual in these cultures; the tribe is everything.

Muslim spokesmen are usually quick following any attempted or successful Jihadist terrorist attack to state that all Muslims should not be punished for the actions of a few individuals, yet this is precisely what their own Islamic sharia laws prescribe for all nonMuslims worldwide.

The later infamous Muhammad cartoons controversy began after 12 editorial cartoons were published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in the fall of 2005. This triggered riots in several countries a few months later. JyllandsPosten has since then been the target of many foiled attacks. In December 2010, a serious terror operation was thwarted by the security services. The suspects, all Muslim men, were arrested on suspicion of planning an attack against the Copenhagen offices of the newspaper, intended to kill as many people as possible.

From Fjordman to contributors:

I want to thank all of those who donated to the Fjordman Relocation Fund. Yes, if you donate to me via Paypal here at Vlad’s blog I do get it. I have already received enough money to pay for moving from my old flat to a new one. I will start thanking individual donors by email this week, but since I am very busy it can take several months for me to thank all of you. And yes, I will continue writing essays online and hopefully publish several printed books as well.

FJORDMAN WRITES AN OP-ED IN THE NORWEGIAN PRESS, DARES COLUMNIST TO DEBATE HIM

Cat toys with ball of yarn.

Fjordman has thrown the gauntlet down, daring for the Dagbladet’s Marie Simonsen -who has repeatedly attacked him in that paper- to pick it up and prove her point, if she can. I can only imagine the egg slowly dripping off her face as she reads this op-ed, knowing that she actually has to try and back up her words with actual facts, and knowing that Fjordman is very capable of defending his position and outing her errors. FJORDMAN HAS ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN AFTENPOSTEN: RULE OF LAW AFTER 7/22

This article by Fjordman was published in today’s Aftenposten and published here with the author’s permission. KGS

The Rule of Law After 7/22

by Peder Jensen, a.k.a. Fjordman

I know that some people dislike me, which they are perfectly entitled to do. Yet it is important to remember that a civilized country ruled by law must function regardless of personal likes or dislikes. My unpleasant encounter with the Norwegian police raises fundamental questions regarding the handling of witnesses in major criminal investigations. You can still be interested in these issues even if you disagree with or dislike my writings.

Furthermore, it is meaningless to hold well-documented texts responsible for the actions of a disturbed person. Assuming that we take “psychological accountability” seriously, we should also hold those accountable who distribute the Koran — which very explicitly encourages violence against non-Muslims — and thus make them co-responsible for countless actions of Jihadist terrorism around the entire world. Is this happening?

In his terror manifesto, Anders Behring Breivik quoted numerous different people from all over the world, obviously without their knowledge or approval. Being quoted by persons one has never met is something beyond one’s control, but since I was the only Norwegian among those quoted there I realized that I sooner or later would have to discuss this matter with the authorities.

I first contacted the Norwegian Police Security Service [PST] by physically knocking on the door of their headquarters in Oslo. However, they didn’t want to talk to me and told me to send them an email instead. I suppose the security services have coffee breaks, too. Judging by the newspapers one could get the impression that the police were actively seeking me out, yet neither the police nor the press had the slightest idea who I was until on August 4th when I knocked on the door to Manglerud Police Station, accompanied by Knut Ditlev-Simonsen from the law firm Staff. As far as they were concerned I might as well have been Mickey Mouse.

Although I was not legally obliged to do so I answered most of their questions. The only form of indirect contact I have ever had with Breivik is that both of us posted comments on the website Document.no. It is true that he tried to contact at me some point in 2009 and sent me a handful of emails. As with everything else he said to others prior to his atrocities, they were hardly spectacular or sensational and contained no hint of future terror actions. Furthermore, I was totally uninterested in meeting with him. Apart from that, I don’t know anything about Breivik. Absolutely nothing.

After some hesitation I voluntarily gave the police access to my telephone log, which must be considered to be a very friendly gesture by a person who is not charged with anything and who himself knows that he was not involved in the criminal actions. Virtually the only one of the police requests that I turned down was giving them my computer, which I considered to be too serious a violation of my privacy. I was then physically followed by several police officers and forced to hand it over.

It was Bård Dyrdal, leader of the program for questioning witnesses after the 7/22 terror attacks, who announced the use of force against my person, supported by police attorneys Christian Hatlo and Pål-Fredrik Hjort Kraby. “He had the status of witness and we got a long and fair explanation from him to the questions we had,” Kraby told NRK [Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation].

This is correct. I held the status as a witness both before and afterwards and have never been suspected of or charged with a criminal act of any kind. For the record, after having studied all of my communications for several months, the police informed me by email in October that I am still not suspected of anything.

When Dyrdal announced that I would immediately be escorted by half a dozen police officers to my flat in order to search through my books, movies, photos, kitchen equipment and dirty laundry for hours and hours he declared that there was a lot of pressure in this case, which probably means that the police let the mass media dictate their actions in the case against Behring Breivik. There was no objective, professional justification for what they did to me.

They also confiscated a suitcase with clothes and socks that contained no electronic equipment at all. At a time when far too many rapes and other serious crimes remain unsolved in parts of the country one has to wonder whether it is the right decision by the police to spend several months on studying the socks of a person who has no criminal record .

There is absolutely nothing on my PC that could possibly connect me to the terror attacks. The only thing there that might be of interest to the police authorities — and then to the PST more than the regular police — are contacts I have with peaceful individuals in many countries who do not like Islam. This means that the Norwegian police disregarded all common legal procedures in order to confiscate a PC that can be used for nothing other than conducting illegal political surveillance.

The police justified their actions against me by using something called a third-party search [tredjemannsransaking], which would imply that evidence of Breivik’s terror attacks should exist in my flat and that there was a danger that this evidence could be lost or destroyed. This is ridiculous. I had contacted the police myself and answered their questions for many hours precisely because I had nothing to hide. Besides, at this point two weeks had passed since the terror attacks, plenty of time to get rid of any evidence had such evidence existed in the first place, which it didn’t.

I have never before heard of any Western democratic country where a voluntary witness who himself contacted the authorities, who was described by the police as being cooperative, who has no criminal record, did not know the perpetrator, and on top of everything else was nowhere near the crime scene when the crime took place have his apartment ransacked and his computer equipment confiscated.

When I told Lars Hedegaard of the International Free Press Society what kind of treatment I had been given as a witness, he responded that it reminded him of the situation in totalitarian states, like the ones we are all too familiar with from the twentieth century. “If someone had told me a few years ago that the free and proud Norway which we Danes admired during the German occupation would end up like this, I would have considered them insane.” Harsh words from a neighbor, and damaging to Norway’s international reputation.

If my case is not disputed, I fear that it may create a dangerous precedent. Worst case scenario, it could imply that the police can from now on ransack the apartment of citizens they dislike, especially if they say something Politically Incorrect, and confiscate their computer equipment, camera and clothes without charging them of having done anything criminal whatsoever. If this happens, we no longer have a crime police; we have a thought police. Do we want a society like that?

Statement by Fjordman on the funding drive

Below are a few paragraphs from Fjordman. But first, I personally would like to thank all of you who contributed to him as well. Fjordman’s work is very important as so many of you clearly know. Recent news stories have shown how within Europe, history is being rewritten to appease the most brutal elements within it in some cases and in others merely to be polite to those who wish it wasn’t the way it was.

Of course this is cataclysmic. For a nation to obliterate it’s own history and recreate itself in the image of its enemies is a staggeringly awful thing for any nation to do to it’s own people and the truth itself. But it does show how critical the work of people like Peder Jensen is, as well as why so many people would see him discredited at best, and stopped anyway possible at worst. Supporting Fjordman is supporting the right to research, speak and discuss the truth for all of us. This is a pivatol moment in our history. I am very proud of how readers of Vlad had recognized this and stepped up to the plate. On behalf of Vlad Tepes Blog, I thank you as well.

Eeyore

I don’t usually ask for donations online since I generally make my essays available on the Internet for free, and there are so many good bloggers and others out there who could use a few bucks at least as much as I do. But I am amazed and frankly quite touched by how many people are willing to donate some of their hard-earned money when I do ask for a donation. The response over the past 24 hours has been nothing short of astonishing.

There is a serious disconnect between how I am portrayed in the press and how many ordinary people apparently like my writings. I can only conclude that many people no longer trust the mainstream media to tell them the truth about anything. I have received offers to stay for free in Brazil or to travel virtually anywhere I want to within Europe. I cannot accept these offers right now, but I am very moved by them and they are deeply appreciated.

Some, like the Baron and Dymphna at the Gates of Vienna, are very good at thanking each and every contributor individually by email. I would very much like to follow their example here, but I am literally overwhelmed at the moment by the response, plus preparing my upcoming book as well as practical issues related to moving to a new location. I cannot guarantee that I can answer every single person who donated money, and it will anyway probably take a few days before I have time at my disposal to do this, but I will do my best.

A chance to help out Fjordman

(This is a sticky post and will remain at the top a while. New news articles will be below)

My dearest readers of Vlad T

Peder Jensen, the blogger known as Fjordman, has been forced from his home and his life as it was, due to absurd and frankly, even impossible assertions over what took place in Oslo this year. As a result, a man who has given us, most especially perhaps me as I have been very inspired and influenced by his excellent and lucid essays and analysis, finds himself needing a little help from us.

Below, a few words he wrote on the matter. But if you can please all find it in your hearts and wallets to use the donate button at the top of the page at Vlad and give a few dollars to Fjordman to help him through a time where it has become much harder to have a normal job for reasons you will, I’m certain, all understand, and put a note in the donation that this money is intended for him, I will see to it that he gets it right away.

I hope many of you can help him out. Fjordman really has sacrificed a lot,

and more than I can say here in fact.

Eeyore for Vlad

Hello from Peder Jensen alias Fjordman. I will continue writing under one name or the other and hope to publish several books in the next year and a half, but after the Breivik case in Norway, which I got mixed up in against my will, I no longer have a job and I am also moving out of my old flat in Oslo, which I already left weeks ago. There are always some costs involved in moving to a different location and creating a new life somewhere else. If you have enjoyed some of my essays in the past I would be grateful if you donated a few bucks this time. Think of it as a Fjordman Relocation Fund. Just mark the donations as being for me and I will get it via Vlad’s fine website.

Thank you, and thank you for all the support and kind words I get from long-time readers.

NORWAY’S NRK SINKS TO NEW LOW: USES NAZI PARAPLEGIC CHARACTER TO BELITTLE FJORDMAN

REAL SICK STUFF.

This is how the Norwegian state run media demonizes people it disagrees with.

The Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten includes the following picture in the article about a new comedy series which debuted last night on Norwegian state TV, NRK. One of the characters chosen for the comedy show (The Social Welfare Office) was a person named ”Fjordlland”, a paraplegic who lost the ability to speak. He’s also typecast as a Nazi and was featured in their the “angry young man special”.

It’s sick. The character is supposed to be the blogger Fjordman, in an attempt to demonize the man through a sick sense of humor. It is part of the process of demonization – the demonization of anyone who has concerns that the authorities do not want to deal with. The idea is to make Fjordman look weak and appear as a convenient punching bag.

It’s also sick and should be an affront to every single person who is a paraplegic and to their relatives. It’s both disgusting and childish on many levels.Nazi humor, funny stuff.

It’s not just for one episode. Apparently, the Nazi Fjordman is a new “recurring character” they have just introduced on their show, a running gag if you will. Also, the Tundra Tabloids has come to find out that NRK is the same channel has tried repeatedly to get an interview with Fjordman. Perhaps he should send them a friendly email asking them to go take a long walk off a very short pier? KGS

AFTENPOSTEN: Norway’s state broadcaster, NRK, is broadcasting the season premier of a comedy show “The welfare office.”   ” that’s set to showcase Nazi humor.

When Social Security (tv comedy show) has the season premiere of NRK2 tonight, the entire broadcast 22 July events as a backdrop, and they call tonight’s episode “angry young man special.”

– The broadcast is really dedicated to the terrorist and aspects of him that is perhaps more universal than we like to believe, says presenter Thomas Seltzer in the social security office to Aftenposten.no.

Like the TT said before on prior occasions, Norway’s cultural elite are at war with reality, logic and reason, holding themselves up to be the epitome of good will, virtue and humanitarianism. In fact they’re a warped statist cadre of sanctimonious despots who believe that they have the exclusive right to determine what the rest of us may know. KGS

(Addendum) Remember this attempt by the Euro-left to demonize all ideological opponents? Clearly they have learned nothing at all.
