A proper edit of the OSCE meeting on security and free speech from May 2015

This is the third edit of this video although the second one was only published for an hour or so, and deleted.

The reason for so much effort on it, is that two things make it very important that needed to be underlined in the video.

1. That this meeting and these panelists matter. They affect our lives

2. That their reasoning ranges from what appears to be a dedicated pursuance of an Alinksy narrative for the destruction of nation states world wide, to simple political correct naiveté at best.

I had the opportunity to sit down and go over it with one of the participants fully and this is the result. I hope you will all feel it is worth ploughing through for a second (and for a few of you, a third) time.

The rabbit hole doesn’t just go deep. It branches out, forms a warren and gets so extensive it weakens the ground above. And wouldn’t you know it, that was the plan all along.

Stephen Coughlin’s ‘Red Pill’ brief part III. The Koran as a war manual.

One of the best ways to determine the value of a model is its predictive accuracy. Maj. Coughlin’s briefs contain enough substance as to the meaning and nature of Islamic doctrine that they have predicted many of the events we have seen which are shaping the world now, including the creation and spread of the Islamic State as well as the attacks in Europe.

It is well worth watching this more than once as he cuts through a lot of the popular noise about Islam and its intent in this section of the brief.

Stephen Coughlin: The Red Pill Briefs part I

This is the first in a series of videos which Maj. (ret) Coughlin delivered recently in Vienna Austria. It is called the Red Pill Brief after the concept introduced in the hit movie, The Matrix.
The idea being of course, that by swallowing the red pill, one confronts reality head on and there is no going back. In this portion and the 2nd to be posted later on, some of the connections between left wing extremism and islam will be discussed.

The Vatican, the Imam, the three unapproved prayers and interfaith movement origins in general.

An interesting thing happened at the Vatican on June 8 of this year. The pope invited what sounds like the setup for a 70s joke, an imam, a rabbi and a priest, to come and each give prayers for peace in the Vatican rose garden.

When the imam got up to read his prepared materials, all of which had been submitted in advance for approval as had all the materials to be read by all, the imam read 3 verses of the koran which he had not submitted in advance as well as some free form thoughts of his own.

Gates of Vienna and this site have written a few posts on this, here and here and GoV here But the importance of the event should not be underestimated. The meaning of the 3 extra verses you are about to see with great attention to detail and with highly acclaimed and authoritative Islamic texts,  will be shown to be basically a direct insult to the Jews and Christians in attendance. The Vatican’s response was to write some pot-boiler sophistry to deflect the imam’s insult in order to not take away from the intended spirit of the event one would assume. But this event was broadcast live to the entire Islamic world and it is highly likely that a large percentage of muslims watching knew exactly what took place, not to mention a number of Christian and other minority groups living in Islamic lands, even if nearly no Westerners did.

This is not without importance and not without consequence.

The Doctrine of Abrogation

In the comments on Geert Wilders’ open letter to Pope Francis, a reader named MH indicated that he was unfamiliar with — or was pretending to be unfamiliar with — the Islamic doctrine of abrogation as it applies to contradictory verses within the Koran.

In a nutshell, any earlier verse of the Koran is considered “abrogated” if a later verse contradicts it. The chronology of the suras of the Koran has been well-established by a consensus of Islamic scholars, so an observant Muslim can be in no doubt as to whether any particular verse of the Koran is binding upon him under Islamic law.

Retired U.S. Army Major Stephen Coughlin is one of the foremost experts on Islamic law in the Western world. Several years ago I had the privilege of helping with the editing of material that Steve was putting together, including the following section on the Koranic basis for the doctrine of abrogation.
