Egypt May Allow “Citizen’s Arrest” of Western Tourists for Blasphemy

Egypt’s tourism sector was doing really badly, so the Muslim Brotherhood regime decided to finish it off. I don’t recall even the Saudis allowing freelance blasphemy arrests. And this is taking place in a country where much of the population thinks that being a member of a non-Islamic religion is blasphemy and being a Westerner means you are a spy.

So come to beautiful Egypt. If you don’t get attacked by a mob making a citizen’s arrest, you’ll get attacked by a rape mob and if you don’t encounter any of these, you get a t-shirt that says, “I Survived Egypt.”

The Egyptian prosecutor general for the Muslim Brotherhood regime (their equivalent of our Attorney General, Eric Holder) has enacted a new law permitting ordinary Egyptians to make what amounts to carte blanche arrests of foreigners in Egypt for things like suspicion of ‘spying’ or blasphemy, or pretty much anything else that goes against Egypt’s sharia based legal code:

No agreement on ending violence against women

From SDAMATT:

The Left never cease to amuse.

“That woman in the human body bag? She chose to be encased in it. Who are we to criticize their culture.”

“What’s that? The Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in islam, issued by the Organization of islamic Conference in 1948 in response to the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Never heard of it.”

“Say, why won’t they sign on to this current U.N. Declaration on Women’s Rights? After all, the cult of multiculturalism tells us that all people are alike!”

Egypt’s ruling Muslim Brotherhood warns that a UN declaration on women’s rights could destroy society by allowing a woman to travel, work and use contraception without her husband’s approval and letting her control family spending.

The Islamist movement that backs President Mohamed Morsi gave 10 reasons why Muslim countries should “reject and condemn” the declaration, which the UN Commission on the Status of Women is racing to negotiate a consensus deal on by Friday.

The Brotherhood, whose Freedom and Justice Party propelled Morsi to power in June, posted the statement on its website, and the website of the party on Thursday.

Egypt’s Islamists warn giving women some rights could destroy society

I still don’t get this “Islamists’ thing. I think they mean Muslims who actually believe that shite and aren’t influenced by European colonialism that actually treat women as people.

Education in Egypt, Shariah Style—Islamic Teachers Beat Children

Canada Free Press:

Guest Column Cynthia Yacowar-Sweeney

The harder the OIC pushes for a worldwide caliphate governed by Shariah, the more we will see Shariah creep into the West. Where there is Shariah, there is violation of human rights

Why is it that we so often hear of Muslim children being subjected to severe physical abuse in Madrassahs or Islamic educational institutions, in Islamic countries and here in the West? Instead of receiving bad marks on their school papers for alleged poor academic performance, these children are instead receiving bad marks on their frail little bodies from their teachers, sometimes to the point of death.

Here’s why. Hitting children is religiously mandated in Islam and is often quite severe. According to the following Hadith on prayer (Abu-Dawud): ”The Prophet said: ‘Command your children to pray when they reach the age of seven and hit them if they if they do not do so by the age of ten…’ “

Similarly, in the Umdat al-Salik or Reliance of the Traveller —a 14th century manual of Islamic law certified in 1991 as a reliable guide to Sunni Islam by Cairo’s al-Azhar University, Egypt’s highest religious authority—we find the following: “F1.2—When a child with discrimination (O: meaning he can eat, drink, and clean himself after using the toilet unassisted) is seven years of age, he is ordered to perform the prayer, and when ten, is beaten for neglecting it (N: not severely, but so as to discipline the child, and not more than three blows).”

Al Azhar Scholar: Christian Copts Will Pay Jizya

Jihad Watch

During a recent interview, Dr. Mahmoud Shu‘ban, a professor at Egypt’s prestigious Al Azhar University, made clear that the Copts, Egypt’s Christian minority, will pay the jizya—what is often referred to in the West as an Islamic “poll tax.” According to the Al Azhar professor, “If non-Muslims were to learn the meaning of ‘jizya,’ they would ask for it to be applied—and we will apply it, just like Islam commands us to.” His logic is that, if Christians pay the jizya, they would buy for themselves “protection,” hence why they themselves should want to pay it.

Dr. Mahmoud Shu’ban

Most Western apologists for Islam also claim that jizya money was historically paid to protect conquered dhimmis, though they often imply protection from outside enemies, non-Muslims. In fact, the jizya was/is protection money from surrounding Muslims themselves—precisely Shu‘ban’s point: pay up and maybe your churches won’t be burned and your girls routinely abducted; because you are not paying, you are not protected from such things and have no right to complain.

Incidentally, this Shu‘ban is the same scholar who went into hysterics on live TV, insisting that an Egyptian Muslim man who tore a Koran “deserves to be struck by the sword in a public place—and as soon as possible; as soon as possible; as soon as possible!”

EGYPT’S PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS POSTPONED TIL NEXT MONTH

Court suspends Egypt’s parliament election

CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian administrative court on Wednesday ordered the suspension of parliamentary elections scheduled to begin next month, throwing the country’s politics deeper into confusion.

The verdict followed over a dozen complaints questioning the legality of the law organizing the elections.

Abdel-Meguid el-Muqanen, presiding judge of the administrative court, said that the law must be reviewed by the Supreme Constitutional Court to determine its conformity to the constitution. Meanwhile, he ordered the suspension and annulment of the presidential decree calling for elections.

Details of the ruling were not immediately available.

The government can appeal the administrative court ruling, but at the least the ruling may cause a delay in the vote. The multi-phase election is due to begin in April 22 and last for nearly two months. The period for candidates to apply was to begin on Saturday, but that likely cannot take place until the legalities are worked out, possibly pushing back the whole process.

Egypt Introduces Saudi-style Islamic Moral Police Force

Egypt Introduces Saudi-style Islamic Moral Police Force

Egypt has quietly introduced a Saudi-style Islamic religious police force in order to implement the moral principles of Islam using “non-violent methods”.

The Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, an informal group, made the announcement at a press conference in Cairo.

“We have absolutely no relationship with the ‘morality’ committees in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Somalia or Nigeria. We will only offer advice to those who want to listen. We shall have no business with people who refuse to listen to us,” said the committee’s founder, Hisham el-Ashri.

The committee says it will not interfere with the work of the state’s security forces and has issued assurances that it will not target nightclubs.

Nonetheless, el-Ashri said: “If a drunken customer comes out of a nightclub, we would prevent him from driving until the police arrive, so he won’t hurt himself or others.”

Muslim brotherhood members does Harlem Shake to attempt to mock opposition members. Party tries to remove it from the net.

Egypt’s MB tries to scrap ‘Harlem Shake’ video of members

The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood (MB) attempted late Saturday to remove a YouTube video of its members doing the “Harlem Shake.” The video was made by the MB members wanting to mock the country’s main opposition bloc, the National Salvation Front.

The Brotherhood took it down from the video-sharing site after identifying one of the dancers who was bare-chested. The dancers in the video were wearing photos of opposition figures as masks, and they performed the dance

Although the video is believed to be removed by the initial YouTube account that posted it, it is still available online after it quickly circulated.

A number of social media sites run by Salafis and other Islamist groups have denounced the “Harlem Shake” as indecent, with participants smoking, dancing wildly and simulating sexual acts.

(CNN) — An Egyptian court ordered authorities Tuesday to destroy tunnels between the country and Gaza — the latest sign of a crackdown on underground smuggling networks.

It’s unclear what Egyptian authorities will do to comply with the court’s decision, but it appears to fall in line with a recent push to put a stop to the tunnels.

Egyptian security forces began sending sewage through the tunnels earlier this month as part of a new campaign to flood them, two senior intelligence sources said.
