Reader’s Links for May 4th, 2024

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

For those interested, please check out https://vladtepesblog.substack.com/ as an another avenue of expression.

Excerpts from Mark Carney speech in April 2024

So Carney started off relating to Canadians well. In the first few minutes he spoke knowledgeably about Hockey. Something Trudeau could simply never do. Then he united the country by disparaging the Maple Leafs, the Toronto hockey team the rest of Canada really dislikes. To see the whole speech, click here. We removed the Uncle Mark parts at the start and the bits of French he did. But the bulk of the speech is still in there.

Either before, during or after listening to who we think is going to be anointed as the next PM more sooner than later, please do read this article from the National Post about this man. A man who is at the front of the Great Reset. Who cant string two sentences together without talking about carbon as if its a pollutant.

We did add a title or two in the video. One is a link to the article above, and the other an excerpt from that article. Just so people can know where he is coming from.

Scenes from the McGill colour revolution protests over the last 24 hours or so

To be clear, these are the usual useful idiot students led by actual Palestinian or Islamic terrorists and Communist terrorists, with the intention of destroying Western Civ in some capacity. Much like the “mostly peaceful protests” of 2020 which were about destroying Donald Trump’s reelection chances, or a cover for the election steal.

Here is a list of videos from the McGill protest and near McGill where windows were smashed last night by the usual black-blok terrorists, all or most quite likely from affluent and comfortable, well heated Montreal homes.

This one is appreciated because you can actually hear the ANTIFA chants.

On the totalitarian state across the West, vaxx damage increasingly now orthodoxy and antisemitic attacks at high schools in Canada: Links post 1 for May 1, 2024

1. Paul Weston on how our leaders are at war with us, the people who believe we put them there.

2. So when we read the report that Jewish students went into the UCLA campus to push back against the Hamas crowd that took over parts of the area, the first thought was, these are likely not Jewish students. Jews just don’t act that way.

3. So the Canadian govt knew about the DNA contamination/addition to the mRNA vaxx well before we knew, and covered it up

Not much is known about this yet, but from the source, it appeared to be a setup by the Muslim father of the girl who beat up the Jewish girl. We did our best to understand what was said and subtitled it. But errors are possible in the transcription.

Revolution chants on the streets of Montreal yesterday, and why Jerry Seinfeld is way underestimating the threat to comedy

1. Two anti-Israel, anti nation-state protests converge on the streets of Montreal yesterday, originating from McGill and University of Quebec, but the protests likely started on St. Catherine’s St. which is a main street in Downtown Montreal to where the video was shot. Both groups are camped out at McGill.

Yesterday we posts a couple of photos. Here is some of the video of the march. Please note the chants

2. Gerry Seinfeld almost gets it. Live comedy is also policed. Anyone who has not seen the important film, “Oh Canada” needs to do so. There is an interview with a Canadian comedian destroyed for doing what comics always do, to two hecklers who were clearly, clearly provoking him.

To get a sense of how far Jerry is below the degree of the actual problem, at least in Canada but it can’t be that far off in blue states like California, in the US, watch this clip excerpted from the excellent film, Killing Canada released in 2018 or shortly before.

The complete movie of Killing Canada, released on or before 2018 is available right here. And more relevant than even when it was made.

McGill U in Montreal: Anti-Israel protest taking over campus grounds…

It’s time to take up the fight for the rights of the Metabolically Challeneged

Sometime early this week, a woman brought a cardio-disabled man into a bank to sign over his bank account to his caretaker.

The teller refused to allow the transaction, despite the signature he did, right in front of the teller, on the mere fact that the man was completely non-responsive.

This kind of injustice has gone on far too long. So we ask our readership to please sign the petition to give long denied rights to the decomposers.

The time is now, because while they have all the time in the world, we, the fully respiratory, or ‘Cis-breathies’ do not. We would like to see this teller removed from her position, and made to write an apology for all the deceased who would have liked to take out a loan.

Justice for the Breathless now

Post-Script:

Many years ago now, I told myself that I would no longer make jokes of logical extremes, because they just give tyrants ideas. Life in Canada now actually is a joke of logical extremes as you can see from the previous post about gay transvestites who identify as police officers.

But some things you can’t resist. And as I wrote this last bit of humour for the day, I fully accept that I will probably live long enough to be grimacing at how this gag turns into another dialectic.

NY Post reveals Soros is behind the student occupations, Jewish students beaten at Ontario middle school and more: Links 1 for April 26, 2024

1. A commenter said in Reader’s Links, that “…enlisted soldiers have to be accountable but politicians don’t.” Actually it’s worse. All people on Western nations now are accountable for being counter-revolutionary in any way (donating $20.00 to a legal protest for example and having your bank account frozen) while politicians, to say the very least, are not accountable, even for the kind of mass murder the mandates and vaxx caused. Look at the Trump trial, and the nature of the charges against him, vs. the admitted reality of what gangsters like the Clintons and the DNC do. Look at what happened to actual whistle blowers of govt. crimes like Assange or even Snowdon Vs a senator-come-president that had a garage full of classified documents.

If you wonder why you can’t get a cop at your door when your car is stolen, the video below gives an indication as to what they are busy doing. And for those that think they left a threatening message on her machine, the police would likely have SWATted her if that was the case. Not just stood on her lawn. (Language)

4. The clips in this compilation video are important enough to put up with the annoying music added to it in the production. There were no weapons found at the protest at the border, which the police refer to as an “occupation”.

5. George Soros is paying student radicals who are fueling nationwide explosion of Israel-hating protests

George Soros and his hard-left acolytes are paying agitators who are fueling the explosion of radical anti-Israel protests at colleges across the country.

The protests, which began when students took over Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus lawn last week, have mushroomed nationwide.

Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police.

The SJP parent organization has been funded by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor.

At three colleges, the protests are being encouraged by paid radicals who are “fellows” of a Soros-funded group called the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR).

It’s not hypocrisy, and it isn’t corruption

At this point its past undeniable that a communist revolution has taken place in North America, and frankly over a great deal of what was Western Civilization overall.

It has become so obvious that the word communism as an adjective for various events and policies, which mere months to a few years ago caused grimacing and smirks in all listeners, has now become a common descriptor, even among the less aware commenters out there. (No offence meant to the linked hosts. They point out important aspects of the revolution and show clips of Trudeau that all need to see)

A large part of this revolution has been the imposition of pseudo-realities, and forcing people to play along with them. This strategy has been applied to everything from immigration to covid to the created Trans-issue and the created climate ‘crisis’.

Governments across the world are rapidly criminalizing expressing opposing views to government dialectics on things like Global Warming using the ‘hate-speech’ catch-all.

Opposing one of these efforts is what made Jordan Peterson famous and influential. He came on the scene because as a Prof. at U of T, he objected to being forced to use pronouns that people chose for themselves. He referred to this as compelled speech. A much more severe form of communist control than mere censorship. And of course he was entirely correct, even if he himself could not see through the same strategy as it applied to Covid and the Vaxx.

As a commenter said below this excellent example of the captured institution, Scientific American under its article on Gender:

“If a man wants to pretend he’s a woman, that’s up to him.

If that man wants me to pretend he’s a woman, that’s up to me.

No actually it isn’t. It is now up to the state. This is an excellent juxtaposition of Socratic thinking Vs. Hegelian. Anyone who likely reads this site would find what he said to be a pithy and accurate description of the nature of free thought. One actually worth fighting over. Which it certainly is. But in order to do that and win, we need to understand where we actually are now on a political map. And where we are on that map is well demonstrated on the Scientific American article to which the tweet above is a Response:

One of the complains quite often made on this site is when people confuse hypocrisy with dialectics. The difference is subtle, and yet it isn’t.

Here is a fumbly attempt to explain the difference:

Hypocrisy, like corruption, all exist within a single overarching system. Corruption is when a person or group takes advantage of a position, or weakness within the system to advantage themselves in some way.

Hypocrisy is similar. A person speaks or even leads people in a way that indicates self sacrifice, or claims to behave in a way that results in delayed gratification, or advocates for other morally superior behaviours, while in secret they behave in exactly the way they advise others not to do. In both examples, the hypocrites and the corrupt require our Western system to be intact, in order to take advantage of it.

But the system we all knew and grew up with has been replaced with another one.

Therefore, the advocates of that system are not corrupt. They are in fact ideologically pure, but of another system altogether.  They may, and usually do, speak in a way that lets their fellow travellers know what they really mean and intend, (with Trudeau being an excellent example), while knowing full well how the uninitiated will understand their words.

For example, when Trudeau says that those who will not take the mRNA gene therapy shots are racist, misogynists who take up space, he is really saying they are counter-revolutionaries and must be eliminated, or at least their views must be, with the people who refuse government directives being marginalized and disenfranchised. No travel, no leaving or entering Canada, no restaurant access etc.

As an example of what corruption actually is or better, corruption Vs. revolution, The MAFIA requires that the banks and other institutions work as they always have as they need a place to store their own wealth. They need to know that they can build their own homes with cement that will not fall apart after 6 months. They need to know that the cancer that they often are on civilization, does not fully metastasize. Because organized crime, even regular crime for that matter needs a healthy host.

I read a story recently about gangs of people in the US robbing stores, and opening their own sidewalk stores to sell the goods they just stole. I couldn’t help but wonder when gangs will rob those sidewalk shops and set up their own shops with that same merch another block away.

Now while that would make for a decent comedy sketch, we all know why it won’t happen.

The initial robbers who stole the merch from the legal owners, are unencumbered by the rules that stop actual legal merchants from using force against thieves.

In other words, you can rob from the stores with total impunity in many places in the US. Leftist places. Blue cities and states. But try and steal from the thieves and you will be hurt badly or killed.

The following Tweet by president Trump is a powerful indicator of how the courts and justice overall is now dialect as opposed to, well justice based.

The trial isn’t rigged. Trials no longer do what we all thought they did.

Courts, like the CPSO hearings, like the Helen Grus hearings, like many many processes in the Western World which have been captured have re-tuned their entire process to create a pre-determined political outcome, and no longer exist to determine what is true, or lawful or in the interests of society as a whole.

It is no longer using evidence and reason to a rational outcome, but a needed outcome that determines what reasoning and evidence will be allowed.

Looking at the take-over of the Columbia U campus, and other campuses by leftists and Muslims:

We all know that if anything even 10% as antisocial as this happened by Trump supporters what would happen. Or people opposed to Trudeau mandates in Ottawa. What is being permitted on campuses, like what was permitted in 2020 in Seattle and in many cities where the Marxist revolutionary group wearing a beard of Black victimhood called BLM is not hypocrisy.

It is the product of a fundamentally changed system. We need to understand this going forward.

This means there is no changing things back to individual rights and a truth based system by using the system, even if there are partial and occasional victories in the courts.

We need to see first how those victories translate into policy that actually is put into effect to know if our institutions still have any meaning as we thought, and many still think they do.

We, as freedom minded people, as classical liberals perhaps, as believers in the rights of the individual including the right to private property, and raise our children according to our own values, cannot develop effective tactics if we cannot understand the enemy strategy, and more importantly or at least more immediately, know where we are on the game board and what stage of the game is being played.

Senator Babet in Australia does a decent job of listing some of the dialectic attacks for which their system is being re-tuned. Censorship is the new normal now. It has been for decades really, but its enforcement is now overt and exponentially more common. The focus is the same though. Again, David Suzuki and Nuclear Winter as a stunning example of how dozens if not hundreds of hours of TV appearances by Canada’s Fruit Fly Scientist who was banging a drum daily about how Western industry would block out the sun and cause an ice age, are impossible to find. Al Jolson videos from the 1920s. But nothing from Suzuki’s Nuclear Winter narrative attacks from the 1970s. There was video tape by then. Two kinds.

Canada does an excellent job of demonstrating dialectical enforcement of protests for or against narrative positions:

Gender identity protestors face arrest in BC if law bans demonstrating at schools

British Columbia’s NDP government is considering new legislation that makes it illegal to demonstrate within 20 metres of school grounds to block gender identity curriculum protests.

Premier David Eby said that the Ministry of Education “has documented 18 major disruptions” of protests at schools in the province since the start of the 2023-24 school year, which he claims disrupt educational activities and intimidate students.

“We’ve had people banging on school windows in British Columbia,” he said.

“It never crossed my mind to be worried that a grown adult would be waiting on the school perimeter to yell at my child about pornographic books or about puberty blockers,” added Eby.

In fact, the Government of BC is passing a law creating bubble zones around schools in the same way the Fed Guv did around abortion clinics.

Laws which are enforced strictly enough that a man who stood with a sign which merely read: “Freedom of speech is the cornerstone of our civilization” was arrested for holding it across the street and yards down the block from an abortion facility. And now, you won’t be able to protest the state sterilizing your own children near a school. Interestingly, both policies have the same outcome. No babies. Quell Coincidence non?

Columbia U is the initial infection now spreading across schools North America wide, and its effect

So we saw the video of what one may assume is a math prof. at Columbia U and who is ethnically Jewish.
If not, here it is again:

So “we are willing to take you to the Math lounge” I think he says. Not sure about the last word. Lounge, Line, Lawn? Anyway the point is, this is being framed as a Jewish guy being forbidden to enter his own campus where he is a Prof. because of what is likely the Islamo-communist alliance that has taken control of much of the campus. The Admin appears to be trying to reach a sort of detente with them, while the Math prof is clearly agitating. Which he should do. This is submission to mob rule on behalf of the admin. Failing to agitate against the changes in liberties on campus is also submission.

It is exactly why the phrase, “The truth lies somewhere in the middle, as it always does” makes my teeth hurt.

Hitler, and for that matter Hamas, wants to kill all the Jews. The Jews don’t want to be killed for being Jewish. So the truth must mean kill around half of them I guess. Which is what the Nazis actually managed to do.

At Columbia, they want no Jews on Campus. And he wants the usual rights all citizens are guaranteed to freely go where he wants on campus. So the truth by that logic is, escort him to the Math area where he works but forbid him from being anywhere else.

To be as clear as optical quartz: This is submission to the enemies of civilization and liberty by increments. And large increments at that. We either have individual rights which the state, (meaning law enforcement in this case) protect, or we do not. And if we do not we need to ask the same questions the revolutionary founding fathers asked.

Do we need to fight for our rights?

As is normally the case, the Babylon Bee gets closer to the reality than any news service does:

This is spreading across campuses North America wide. I am told also even at high schools.

NYU “Liberated Zone” gets raided.

By way of a fascinating contrast, at an Iranian University where disrespecting Israel and the USA is mandatory:

From recent conversations I have had with Persians and news reports smuggled out by TwitterX, I have more faith in the population of Iran to preserve Freedom and reason than much of the Western population. A case can be made that during Obama’s revolutionary administration, the Persians were well on the way to liberating themselves from the IRI (Islamic Republic of Iran) but Obama assisted in the quelling of the massive protests, while fuelling all the rest in the middle East at the same time, called ‘The Arab Spring’ whicht brought Ikwan (The Muslim Brotherhood) to power in many places. Most notably Egypt although it didn’t stick.

If we say 2+2=4 and an enemy who wants to destroy our fundamentals says that 2+2=6, compromising on 5 is not a solution. It is actually doing the enemy’s work for them.

The MEP in the clip below understands this in terms of the arena of free speech in Europe. And he is 100% correct. Which means it won’t be long till we don’t hear from him again for one reason or another. That is, unless we all gird our loins and now.

“Freedom, is the freedom to say that 2+2=4”. George Orwell in 1984

“Math is racist”. Scientific American 2021

As a semi related item that is hard to resist posting, a pro-Hamas leftist in the US berates and blackmailes Alec Baldwin, demanding he say “free free Palestine” which he will not do, or she will continue to berate him about shooting a woman on a film set. Fascinating that she appears to despise him for his actions but uses that to blackmail him to steal his moral authority, such as it is, for her cause. A pretty decent microcosm for the West at this stage.

Major victory in US Supreme Court but will it translate into action, and Columbia U occupation and more: Links 1 for April 23rd, 2024

1. Some good news, and news that is effectively a test of the overall effect actual laws have in the practical world

Full text:

The US Supreme Court’s ruling that a St. Louis police sergeant can sue over a job transfer she claims was discriminatory lays the foundation for legal action against employers who push discrimination against white people in job hiring, work assignment and promotion.

That’s right, those “diversity-preferred” job postings, the practice of passing over whites for promotions, discriminatory job transfers, pushing unfair diversity trainings, etc…all of these are now legally actionable.

The ruling was championed by human rights groups as “an enormous win for workers,” but has lawyers for companies like Disney warning that it could have a chilling effect on employers’ diversity initiatives. Disney’s “Pale and Male is Stale” policy is a prime example.

Disney has allegedly used it to drive out white animators by giving them the worst assignments, even though they them have the most experience, skill, and seniority, in order to make the job humiliating enough that they quit…which many of them have done.

The same companies argue that there is ‘good discrimination’ and “bad discrimination’, that white people should be purposely disadvantaged to pave the way for diversity. The lawyers stated that the decision will ‘complicate’ DEI programs and limit their ability to discriminate against white men.

The Supreme Court torpedoed these claims, re-asserting that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. Further, the court has established a relatively ‘low standard’ for bringing discrimination cases. The victim need not suffer ‘actual harm’. An employee only must show “some harm” under the terms of their employment, AND that harm need not be “material,” “substantial” or “serious.”

The decision makes it much easier for workers to sue over discriminatory practices. This is a big win for equality!

From what we have all seen in the last 10 to 20 years, ways of creating the effect the revolutionaries want still dominate no matter what the law actually says, or even what the courts determine. Nothing demonstrates that better than Covid-regs which broke every fundamental law of individual rights in Western nations. At some point, the courts may decide that these things are in contrast to first principles as happened here. But in practice, it just takes a visit from ANTIFA or the FBI or whatever gang of thugs the state needs to enforce policies, the effects of which are what was desired all along.

An example of that would be Trudeau’s statement about the chants now permeating all the communist-Palestinian protests across Canada.

This should offend all of us for multiple reasons.

The first of which is that he caused the problem by importing all these Muslims, frankly very possibly to cause this exact problem, and if not this exact problem, to cause problems that would result in idiots on our side demanding the state take more power to regulate speech. This has to be understood in the broader contest of all the efforts Trudeau has taken to quell criticism of Islam as a doctrine. Not even of Muslims as people but to discuss the nature of Islam as a philosophy and an organizing principle of a people in a light contrary to the ethics of the West, while not a crime, has criminal like consequences. They will destroy you for “Islamophobia”. You will be on police watch lists. You may not be charged with a criminal offence, but your life will be negatively affected.

And if you read the thread under his ludicrous statement, you will see he has people on “our side” demanding the state take action. Which is exactly the position he wants to be in, whether he does anything about it or not.

Secondly, he will continue to import these people with these attitudes, and criticism of that will be suppressed by the state, exactly as is demanded by the UN Migration Compact. Which makes his statement tactical and with less than no actual meaning, but more of a kind of lubricant to make it easy to continue to enact the exact same policies that got us here, and to make them worse. He wants to destroy the Nation State, which he has said he thinks is a very old idea. He wants to use Islam as a way of dismantling Canada and its values and culture. And its going to work because he puts Canadians in a position where they actually ask him to do it.

2. Below is an excellent example of how what the law says, means about nothing in practical terms. A Jewish Prof. at Columbia University had his access card cancelled because he questioned whether or not Hamas is a terrorist group. Meaning he felt that it is.

The Police of course, appear to have no actual direction. So they will go with the revolution since that is now the path of least resistance.

More on this story later in a dedicated post.

3. Alex Berenson: The lawfare against Donald Trump hits new heights today

This morning, I reread New York state’s 34-count felony indictment of Donald Trump – and the indictment’s accompanying “statement of facts.” I wanted to be sure the case was as bizarre as I remembered.

It was worse.

Donald Trump’s first criminal trial officially began today with opening statements in a lower Manhattan courthouse. That dry statement is true, as far as it goes. But it does not begin to capture the miscarriage of justice unfolding before our eyes – or the profound consequences it will have, whatever its outcome.

Yet the elite media has gone along with the charade, just as it did in the insane New York state civil trial of Trump that ended two months ago. Reporters have covered both cases as if they were normal uses of prosecutorial power, rather than explaining what is really happening in them and how bleeding-edge aggressive are the legal theories underlying them.

In the civil case, this meant articles that referred endlessly to the “fraud” Trump had committed while rarely stating clearly that he fully repaid the loans made to him and that the banks that made them did not consider themselves defrauded.

But what is happening in the criminal case is worse, because Trump faces the real possibility of prison time if he is convicted.

The media frequently refers to the case as a “hush money” trial, because it involves $130,000 in payments that Michael Cohen, a one-time lawyer for Trump, made to the adult-film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 after Daniels threatened to expose an affair she had with Trump.

Please read the rest at Berenson’s Substack. Also if there are any Americans who read this site, could you please leave a comment as to the meaning and purpose of the first two amendments on the bill of rights? Thank you.

4. PM Orbán’s warning to Europe: ‘World wars are never called world wars in the beginning

(Gotta say, a lot of people spent a great deal of time and money to get a world war going. They don’t happen on their own you know! So congrats I guess to all the men and women who for decades now, have been working three shifts to undermine every single attribute that has made civilization work, to make humanity more free, more prosperous, more healthy and maybe headed for the stars someday. Instead, we are headed back to an existence of lies we will be forced to repeat and accept, disease, toxins, and authoritarian dictatorships by people so remote, we wouldn’t know who to write an angry letter to if we were even allowed to own pen and paper.)

“This vortex of war could drag Europe down”

Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán has issued a new warning about rising tensions in Europe, saying that world wars are never called world wars in the beginning, noting that the First and Second World Wars were initiated by a series of smaller conflicts.

“Brussels is playing with fire. What it is doing is an act of temptation. World wars are never called world wars in the beginning. The Third Balkan War, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the partition of Poland, and the end was a world war twice over,” he warned.

Tensions are rising in Europe, Orbán said in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, pointing out that the mood on the continent is one of war, and that politics is dominated by the logic of war.

“The NATO secretary-general wants to set up a NATO-Ukraine mission. European leaders have already fallen into war, they see this war as their own war and are fighting it as their own war,” he said.

“At first, it was only about sending helmets. Then sanctions, but not on energy producers! Then, yes, on those too. Then, came the arms shipments. First firearms, then tanks, then planes, and then financial aid. More and more, tens of billions. Now, we’re somewhere around a 100 billion — in euros. Money, supplies, weapons, but the situation is not getting better, it’s getting worse,” the prime minister said.

PLEASE read the rest at source. Its only a couple more paragraphs.

5. Mark Carney is putting himself in the spotlight all of a sudden. I wonder why. He appears to be, as we all knew he would, selling himself as a fiscal conservative when he himself in his book Values, explains his role models are Marx, Engles and Lenin.

Is it just me? Or does this sound like a campaign speech?

Thank you all for checking out this site.

So far I have listened to 26 minutes of this and while it certainly could be better condensed and less redundant, its interesting and informative and solid evidence of important but initially seemingly outlandish claims are given. If you have household chores to do, this is great in the background.
