‘Major terrorist’ plot broken up by Canadian and U.S. authorities

Canadian authorities have broken up what is being described as a “major terrorist attack” that may have included targets there and in New York, Fox News has confirmed.
Arrests could be announced as early as Monday afternoon, and sources said charging documents could be filed in federal court in New York. The plot is unrelated to the Boston Marathon attack, sources said. An official says there is no current credible threat to New York City.
Earlier, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation said Canadian police and intelligence agencies were to announce multiple arrests after an operation to thwart the attack. The operation was coordinated with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, CBC said. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a statement the investigation was coordinated by a multi-agency team comprised of the RCMP, Canadian Security Intelligence Services, the Canada Border Service Agency and other law enforcement and national security partners in Montreal and Toronto, Canada’s two largest cities.

Syria’s most powerful rebel group has formally pledged allegiance to al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri, according to recording posted online today.
The al-Nusra group, the strongest extremist movement in Syria, issued a statement of support for the terror network.
Abu Mohammad al-Golani, leader of the Syrian group, said: ‘The sons of Nusra Front renew their pledge (of allegiance) to the Sheikh of Jihad Ayman al-Zawahri and declare obedience.’
Al-Qaida’s branch in Iraq and the most powerful rebel group in Syria have now officially joined ranks against President Bashar Assad to forge a potentially formidable militant force in the Middle East.

And the horror continues to escalate. Here is a link to a YT video Magic Martin sent which may or may not be related. It is dated today and is a video of a number of Africans in Nigeria being ‘necklaced’, which is an African custom as I understand it, of putting a tire around someone’s neck then setting it and them on fire. I would only watch it if, well I wouldn’t watch it at all. But the people wearing the tires do not have beards. No idea if that means anything specific.

No arrests were immediately made in the attack, which comes as northern Nigeria faces near-daily attacks by Islamic extremists. The main extremist network there, known as Boko Haram, has been launching attacks since 2010, despite an increased deployment of soldiers and police there.

WASHINGTON: A Turkish woman was sentenced to five years in jail by a US court on charges of sending money to a terrorist outfit in Pakistan for attacks against American military personnel.
40-year-old Oytun Ayse Mihalik, a lawful permanent resident of the US residing in California, had pleaded guilty last August to one count of providing material support to terrorists.
When she pleaded guilty, Mihalik specifically admitted that she provided money to an individual in Pakistan with the intention that the money would be used to prepare for and carry out attacks against US military personnel and other persons overseas, the US Justice Department said today.

Tucker is scheduled next week at the Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse to punish Orange County resident Oytun Ayse Mihalik, 38, a Turkey native who used a fake, Americanized name, Cindy Palmer, in her efforts to supply more than $4,000 to Islamic terrorists in 2010 and 2011. The U.S. government is seeking a 12-year prison trip for Mihalik. She is hoping for a whopping 10-year reduction. If she wins her argument, she could be set free in about six months, as she has been in the custody of U.S. marshals for 18 months.

According to a new report from the Arabic-language website Misr al-Gidida (New Egypt), during Egyptian president Muhammad Morsi’s recent visit to Islamabad, Pakistan, he secretly met with Ayman Zawahiri, the leader of the terrorist organization al-Qaeda, and promised to smuggle the Egyptian-born jihadi back home. The Arabic report cites a Pakistani source saying that the meeting was clandestinely arranged, away from the delegation accompanying Morsi, and “facilitated by elements of Pakistani intelligence [ISI] and influential members of the international organization, the Muslim brotherhood” [all quotes translated from Arabic by author].
Morsi himself is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood; Zawahiri is a former member who grew impatient with the Brotherhood’s tactics of non-violent patience and perseverance, eventually quitting the organization and joining the jihad, becoming its current leader. Nigeria under attack
At least 20 people have been killed in a series of explosions at a bus station in the northern Nigerian city of Kano, witnesses say.
Several buses were destroyed in the Sabon Gari area of the city, home to a large population of Christians from the south of the country.
Kano is the largest city in the mainly Muslim north of Nigeria.
No group has said it carried out the blasts but Islamist militants from Boko Haram have attacked Kano several times.
One eye witness told the BBC’s Hausa service that he had seen 20 bodies after the blasts.
Soldiers cordoned off the area after the blasts.
In January 2012, around 150 people died in Kano in a series of co-ordinated attacks by Boko Haram.

An American who has gone by the name Eric Harroun has taken up arms with Islamists, most recently in Syria.
A frequent poster on message boards favored by Islamic radicals, “The American” predicted the uprising he would later join.
Harroun announced one of his trips on MySpace.
He’s a U.S.-trained soldier turned Muslim warrior who moves between America and countries where the winds of the Arab spring blow, fighting alongside jihadists and America-hating terrorists while celebrating his bloody exploits on YouTube videos.
Eric Harroun, 30, grew up in Phoenix before joining the U.S. Army in 2000. Although Harroun was never deployed during his three-year hitch, he has seen plenty of combat fighting with Syrian rebels and, more recently, Jabhat al-Nusra, a group the U.S. State Department classifies as an alias for Al Qaeda in Iraq.

(CNN) — Britain, Italy and Greece on Sunday confirmed that hostages from their countries were among seven construction workers reported killed in Nigeria over the weekend.
“This was an act of cold-blooded murder, which I condemn in the strongest terms,” British Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement announcing that a British construction worker was among the dead.

Al Qaada’s newest edition of its terror mag also has a list of people it wants to see muslims murder for whatever reasons. The list is irrational and seems to be based more on how much attention the work got rather than who the people are or what they think and do.
As a consequence, I wasn’t planning to post anything on it and encourage any Muslim, would-be-assassins on who to go after. Seems counterproductive to me to assist them. But the Daily Mail has done this article on another component of this issue and Diana West has done a good article on the ‘hit list’ so I may as well post them at least.

Al Qaeda has released the latest edition of its English-language propaganda magazine advising would-be militants on how to torch parked cars and cause traffic accidents.
The Islamist movement’s most active branch Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP, published the tenth edition of its glossy quarterly called Inspire on militant websites this month.
Along with tips on terrorism, it also warns France to pull back from Mali and lists 11 public figures in the West, including author Salman Rushdie, who it says are ‘wanted dead or alive for crimes against Islam’ and carries articles commemorating ‘martyrs’ who have died for its cause.

AQAP, based in the impoverished, lawless state of Yemen, has previously plotted to bring down international airliners.
It is seen by Western governments as a danger to oil-producing Gulf states and major crude shipment routes.

Thanks to Oz-Rita for the translation from French to English. I left the Arabic parts in as those of us who read these kinds of websites probably know enough Arabic by now that we can recognize enough words to get some sense of what threats are being made. I found it interesting that they mention Goodluck Jonathan by name, the president of Nigeria, and there seems to be references to implementing sharia.
The reason I felt this was worth posting is because I think its is extremely important that Western nations as well as Western people take a new attitude towards going to Islamic areas or areas under heavy threat by jihadis.
1. People should not go there. If they do, they should go with the attitude that if they are kidnapped they should expect to die in their custody and probably be tortured in the process.
2. And much more importantly. governments simply must stop funding jihad by paying ransoms for naive morons who go to these places to ‘help’ or for whatever reasons. Thomas Jefferson himself started the Marines because the costs of paying ransoms to Muslim kidnappers was beyond sustainable, not to mention morally repugnant and it was just being used to fuel more jihad against us. We seem to be right back in that exact situation with France, England, Canada and the US paying these bastards to attack us again.
This has to stop.

1. The family are expatriates, the father works as an engineer for some company. They, father, mother, brother in law and four little boys (oldest 11) were on an outing “in one of the most beautiful places and frequented by tourists”.
2. The threats in arabic contain the straight forward “promise” we will kill them if you dont….blabla
3. One of the captors then threatens in Arabic to kill the hostages, if the demands of the group are not met.
4. The black flag of the jihadists in the back ground shows the inscription: “There is no god but allah and mohamed his prophet”. The group, known as Boko Haram is a radical islamist group who wants to impose Sharia in the north of Nigeria.
5. On the French Government (ergo lefty) TV chain I have just seen a nearly 8 minutes long interview with the French Minister for defence, Jean-Yves Le Dian, about this tragedy. Willfully blind to the elephant in the room and obviously a gold medallist in evasive language, he managed to avoid the word “Islam” despite his verbosity, or perhaps because of it.

But it needs to be known that the people we are backing, financing etc. are ipso facto Al Qaeda and that they are torturing killing and beheading people who are the religion dominant in Syria, a variant of Islam called, ‘Alawites‘, and something that Shiia muslims of course, cannot stand to allow to exist. This is a jihad for Ikhwan and Al-Qaeada and nothing else. It is not an attempt to free the people living in Syria from a tyrannical regime. As we see already in other countries now dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood and its variants, totalitarianism is compulsory. It is about who controls it and why.

There’s a gruesome double murder mystery in New Jersey.
Police say who did it’s not a mystery because someone is under arrest but the mystery is why the accused killer cut of two men’s heads and hands.
The victims are reportedly from Jersey City, but their remains were found buried in a town southwest of Philadelphia.
On the streets of Jersey City along Bergen Avenue, to the naked eye it’s not obvious.
But to members of the close knit Coptic Orthodox church the pain is real.
“It’s a shock, something like this doesn’t happen to people like that,” a resident said.

Nine female polio vaccinators have been shot dead in two shootings in northern Nigeria.
Islamist militant group Boko Haram – a sect which has condemned the use of Western medicine – has been blamed for the attack.
In the first attack in Kano the polio vaccinators were shot dead by gunmen who drove up on a motor tricycle, reported the BBC.
Thirty minutes later gunmen targeted a clinic outside Kano city as the vaccinators prepared to start work.
Previously religious clerics had some of their followers stop receiving the vaccines saying that it would sterilise their children.
Boko Haram wants to impose Islamic law, or sharia, on a country of 160 million split roughly equally between Christians and Muslims.
