Al Qaeda planning kidnappings and killings at Jewish targets in London.

Your Jewish News:

Al Qaeda continues to plot horrific terror attacks against Western interests and especially Jewish targets.

The cache of intelligence found with the body of the African leader of Al Qaeda, and inside his Toyota truck riddled with bullets when he tried to bomb a checkpoint of the Somali government, offers a chilling look at the global aspirations of Al Shabab, an offshoot of Al Qaeda, in Somalia.

Documents obtained by the news media, show details of plots of kidnapping and attacks on the prestigious Eton College, the Jewish neighborhoods, and the elegant Ritz and Dorchester hotels in London.

They were discovered last year when a high Al Qaeda leader Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, 38, was shot dead by Somali forces.

Fazul was indicted in the United States for the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya that killed 224. He was a close ally of Osama bin Laden and considered the primary liaison between senior leaders of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan and the Shabab, the terrorist group that has grown out of decades of chaos in Somalia.

58 Killed in Central Nigeria Raids and Reprisals

ABC News:

By AHMED SAKA Associated Press
JOS, Nigeria July 8, 2012 (AP)

Raids and reprisal attacks have left 58 people dead in Christian villages near a Nigerian city where authorities have struggled to contain religious violence, officials said Sunday.

Assailants launched “sophisticated attacks” on several villages near Jos early Saturday, said Mustapha Salisu, spokesman for a special taskforce made up of policemen and soldiers deployed in the area to curb years of violence.

“They came in hundreds,” Salisu said. “Some had (police) uniforms and some even had bulletproof vests.”

He said the special taskforce fought back for hours and lost two policemen in the battle. Salisu initially said that 37 people were killed including 14 civilians and 21 assailants.

However, late Sunday, Nigerian Red Cross official Andronicus Adeyemo said aid workers had counted 56 dead and more than 300 displaced people from the attacks. He did not give a breakdown.

Al Queda desecrate shrines to Islamic “saints”

Over the past few days many people have sent me various links to a story about the destruction of shrines to Islamic “saints” in North Africa. I didn’t bother with the story even though the Muslim war on history is of particular interest to me. The fact that Muslims, once a piece of land is conquered for Islam, will then work 3 shifts at the total destruction of artifacts and any evidence of pre-Islamic control of the area. A thing which, itself shows that Muslims and Islam does not care about the facts but abut utter and complete totalitarian control. Another large data point in the notion that Islam is not a religion at all, but a totalitarian political system, as so many (especially Geert Wilders) has said for so long.

I didn’t bother with it because Muslims destroying Islamic shrines seems perfectly OK with me. But it shouldn’t have. First of all, a good Muslim is a terrifying thing. The 911 hijackers were among the best of Muslims based on all Islamic scripture. So a Muslim ‘Saint’ must be one black hearted son-of-a-bitch.

However history is history and the destruction of it is a crime against humanity whether we like the story or we do not. Much like if Austrians destroyed all evidence of the Nazi death camps and then proceeded to say they never existed. We cannot permit it.

So in that spirit I must agree with the UNESCO on this one.

Islamists damage historic mosques

Al-Qaeda lays mines around city of Gao

By Serge Daniel, Agence France-Presse July 3, 2012
Islamist rebels smashed the entrance of a 15th-century Timbuktu mosque on Monday, while their al-Qaeda allies in northern Mali cut off the key city of Gao by planting landmines all around it.

In Timbuktu, rebels from the al-Qaeda-allied Ansar Dine (Defenders of Faith) group continued their destruction of the city’s cultural treasures, defying a chorus of inter-national condemnation.

Some residents sobbed as the Islamists broke down the “sacred door” of one of Timbuktu’s three ancient mosques, Sidi Yahya – closed for centuries due to local beliefs that to open it would bring misfortune.

Mauritania, Mali and Niger have seen a steady escalation of al-Qaeda activity targeting Western aid workers and experts. Somalia, to their east, has disintegrated in the face of Islamist assault. In Yemen, across the Red Sea from Somalia, security forces have been waging a losing battle against resurgent jihadist armies that have claimed the lives of dozens of troops.

Boko Haram leaders are designated as terrorists by US

BBC:

Abubakar Shekau Abubakar Shekau is the leader of Boko Haram

Three leaders of Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamist group have been designated as terrorists by the US state department.

Abubakar Shekau leads the militant group, while Abubakar Adam Kambar and Khalid el Barnawi are thought to have ties with a branch of al-Qaeda.

The move means any assets belonging to the men in the US will be frozen, and contact with US citizens banned.

Boko Haram has said it carried out a number of attacks against churches and other establishments since 2009.

More than 640 people have died in the country so far in 2012 in attacks blamed on the group.

The BBC’s Kim Ghattas, in Washington, said the move was likely to have little effect on the three men.

She said it was more of an attempt to help stop sectarian violence in the country.

Boko Haram carried out a series of attacks against churches on Sunday, sparking a wave of sectarian reprisals.

Gun battles also broke out in Damaturu after attacks by the group against security forces.

Multiple Blasts Hit Nigeria’s Northeastern City Of Damaturu

Bloomberg:

By Gbenga Akingbule – Jun 18, 2012 6:48 PM ET

At least two explosions and sporadic gunshots hit parts of the Sabon Pegi area of the northeastern Nigerian city of Damaturu, in Yobe state, in renewed attacks carried out by the Boko Haram Islamic sect, amid military spokesman said.

“We are on top of the situation, we have sent reinforcement from Maiduguri, and I can assure you that the situation is under control,” Victor Ebhaleme, field operations officer of a military jointtask force in the region said by phone. He didn’t provide information about any casualties, and the police spokesman in Damaturu, Saliyu Adamu, didn’t respond to phone calls seeking comment.

Authorities in Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer, blame Boko Haram for attacks in the mainly Muslim north and the capital Abuja that have killed hundreds of people this year. Boko Haram is a movement seeking to impose strict Islamic law in the country.

At least 53 people were killed yesterday in a series of suicide explosions that targeted churches around the northern Nigerian cities of Zaria and Kaduna, Shehu Sani, president of the Civil Rights Congress, whose organization helped in rescue operations, said.

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation and the continent’s biggest oil producer, is roughly split between a mainly Muslim north and predominantly Christian south.

Church bombing in Nigeria now total 5 for today by Muslims

From here:

KADUNA (AFP) – Two more church bombings rocked Christian-dominated towns in  Kaduna Sunday, bringing to five the number of explosions in the northern state, a local emergency official said.

“There were two simultaneous bomb attacks on churches in Nassarawa and Barnawa in the south of Kaduna this morning. We are yet to get information on casualities,” Kaduna spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Aliyu Mohammed told AFP.

Southern Kaduna is some four kilometres from Kaduna city and about two hours drive from Zaria, where three churches were hit by bomb explosions early Sunday. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.

Nigeria officials: 3 church blasts hit northern state strained by religious tension

680 News:

LAGOS, Nigeria – Three church blasts rocked a northern Nigerian state Sunday, officials said, prompting protests in a state that has previously been strained by religious tensions.

The first two blasts hit churches in the city of Zaria, said Kaduna State police spokesman Aminu Lawan. National Emergency Management Agency spokesman Yushau Shuaib said the third explosion rocked the city of Kaduna.

Neither spokesman could say how many people may have been killed or hurt.

A Nigerian Red Cross report said rescuers are still trying to get victims of the Zaria attacks to nearby hospitals. The report said young people have started protesting in Zaria, raising fears that Sunday’s church attacks could further inflame a state strained by religious tensions.

Churches have been increasingly targeted by violence in Nigeria, a nation of more than 160 million people. An Easter Day blast in Kaduna left at least 38 people dead. A Christmas Day suicide bombing of a Catholic church in Madalla near Nigeria’s capital killed at least 44 people.

Authorities said they had no immediate suspects for Sunday’s attacks, though a radical Islamist sect known as Boko Haram has claimed similar attacks in the past.

Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is sacrilege” in the Hausa language of Nigeria’s north, is waging an increasingly bloody fight with security agencies and the public. More than 560 people have been killed in violence blamed on the sect this year alone, according to an Associated Press count.

Mob kills 6 Muslims in Nigeria

When the government cannot or will not protect you, then vigilantism is the logical result. “Justice,” one famous  judge once wrote, “must not only be done, but must also be seen to be done”.

from Dw.De

An angry mob killed at least six Muslim youths in Nigeria on Monday. The killings follow attacks on two churches last weekend. DW talked to the Catholic Archbishop of Jos about the violence and possible solutions.

In the international media, the violence in Nigeria’s North is often described as a conflict between Muslim and the Christian communities. In recent months, a number of religious leaders have spoken out and denied that the religion is triggering the clashes. Instead, they blame economic and political factors for the increasing levels of violence.

Ignatius Kaigama is the Catholic Archbishop of Jos. The city has made headlines as one of the hotspots of the violence in recent years. Kaigama has played an active role in mediation efforts between warring parties.

Last Monday local media reported that a Christian mob killed six Muslim youth in a revenge attack. On the weekend, a suicide bomber had hit a church in Jos while gunmen opened fire at churchgoers in Borno State.

There’s police documentary proof that in the last 12 months the presence of jihadi salafists has increased in Catalonia, Tarragona, La Rioja, Aragón, Navarra and País Vasco. These are police reports from the end of the last year which show that the leaders are moroccans living in Tarragona and Gerona with connections to terrorist units in the North of Morocco and several places in Europa. The majority have a permanent residence in the country and are granted the right to work till 2014. In Catalonia, Navarra and Vizcaya, the national security forces have detected the presence inside the muslim community of an important active group of followers linked to, and financed by, Salafia Jihadia.
