At least 87 people were killed and more than 180 injured when a crane crashed through the ceiling of the Grand Mosque of Mecca amid high winds and thunderstorms today.

Dramatic footage shows the moment the crane toppled in heavy rain, with another video capturing the chaos and confusion inside the building as people run for cover after the impact.

Photos posted on social media shows the polished tiled floor of the mosque covered in rubble, bodies and pools of blood, and people fleeing the area bleeding and covered in soot.

Please be patient.

There may be not a lot of new posts for the next short while. We are trying a couple of things to improve service, load times and so on, and this means not being able to add new content to the site, possibly for as long as a day or so, but possibly as quickly as an hour or so. But if you see this as the top post for a day, please understand it is to make the experience for all, much better.

There are some very important things going on however. Please read the various links and posts for the past couple of days, and if we manage to get some critical new materials ready to present before the site can have new materials posted to it, please check sites like Gates of Vienna or Blazing Cat Fur to see if they have them there, if this is still the top post at this site by then.

Thank you all for your patience!

Edinburg Votes to Join Texas, Accelerating Mexico Crisis

The Latest on the Mexican crisis, from Reuters:

EDINBURG, Mexico (Reuters) March 6, 2022 — Edinburg’s legislature voted to join Texas on Thursday and its Washington-backed government set a referendum within 10 days on the decision in a dramatic escalation of the crisis over Tamaulipas state in Mexico.

The Edinburg region of Texas — which was ceded to Mexico in 2016 by then-President Barack Obama to satisfy domestic political pressures — consists on the former counties of Webb, Zapata, Jim Hogg, Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy, and Cameron. The region is now part of Tamaulipas state.

The sudden acceleration of moves to bring Edinburg, which has an Anglo majority and has effectively been seized by Texan forces, formally under Austin’s rule came as UN leaders gathered for an emergency summit to find ways to pressure Texas to back down.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took steps to punish those involved in threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mexico, ordering the freezing of their Russian assets and a ban on travel into Russia.

The Russian Navy announced a guided-missile destroyer, the Archangel, was heading to the Gulf of Mexico in what it said was a long-planned training exercise and not a show of force.

The Edinburger legislature voted unanimously “to enter into the Republic of Texas with the rights of a citizen of the Republic of Texas”.

The vice-governor of Edinburg, home to Texas’ Gulf of Mexico military base in Port Isabel, said a referendum on the status would take place on March 16. He said all state property would be “nationalized”, the U.S. dollar could be adopted and Mexican troops would be treated as occupiers and be forced to surrender or leave.

The announcement, which diplomats said could not have been made without U.S. President Rand Paul’s approval, raised the stakes in the most serious east-west confrontation since the beginning of the Great Collapse.

Merry Christmas to all our readers and contributors. Thank you…

for helping to form such a wonderful community of caring and thoughtful people.

(This is a sticky post. For all newer posts, please scroll right below this one)

I would like to take this opportunity to say a few things about this site now that the end of 2013 is a stone throw away.

There are a number of people who dedicate their time and at their own expense to bring us critical information that our own media would deny us, either by design or ignorance. These people work very hard to translate, write, observe and share observations and otherwise enhance our understanding of the issue so that we may be better equipped to preserve what we rapidly recognize as profoundly worth defending.

Just to name a few but by no means all, Baron Bodessey at Gates of Vienna, who edits a staggering amount of material, both articles and translations and subtitle files to make sure everything is as it should be. He nearly never is credited but without his ceaseless and lucid efforts we wouldn’t be delivering as much or as clear information. Oz-Rita who translated so many videos from German and French to English. Michael Laudahn, who translated a vast number of videos and articles for us here at VTB and we shall always be in his debt for the work he did. SIMONXML who does many videos from several European languages to English. Carpe Diem who has recently been delivering German to English and English to German videos of the situation in Germany. Fjordman who not only writes brilliantly about the situation globally and locally, but has endured hardship few of us can understand for his opinions. Opinions i might add, that only a few short decades ago would have constituted the most basic and obvious orthodoxy and barely worthy of notice before the quiet takeover of Neo-Marxist thought that has branded him an outcast and untermenschen. He also sends vast amounts of news from Scandinavia about the situation there, much of which comes to you via this site as well as GoV and of course, Tundra Tabloids, who also provides us with image creation and news from Finland.

M, Richard, Yucki, WTD, Seneca III, Shabnam, Taffy in Canada, Perfect Child, Don C, ML, Snaphanen, Blue (who I suspect may also be) Red, C.B. Sashenka, and many many others who are regular contributors to this site and send in links and thoughts that are invaluable to us all, but also help create a sense of community, which is perhaps equally important when one holds ideas that may be demonstrably true, but are very out of fashion.

I know I have forgotten many of you in this haze of rum & eggnog, but also my general lack of ability to retain names. Please know it has nothing to do with my level of gratitude, only my lack of mental prowess. One must work with what one has.

Lastly it should be known that many people cannot say who they really are and wish not to be acknowledged for obvious safety reasons as well as fear of total loss of livelihood as many people live in nations which are tantamount to Marxist due to laws which are essentially forcing you to hold certain opinions and thoughts. Thank you to all of you as well.

And then there are those who felt it was worth throwing everything in. People like Lars Vilks or Geert Wilders who’s lives are unimaginably difficult for most of us who take for granted going for a walk or enjoying a public restaurant. These people and many many more where willing to give up all that modern civilization offers to us all in order to preserve it for us and our children.

And even to those who read this site and do not contribute but are willing to at least consider the idea that the narrative they have grown up with may not be in their interests.

Thank you all.

Conspiracy theorists.

(This is a fully off topic post. Please feel free to ignore it. I am writing this for my own personal satisfaction because it is an issue that is a mild irritant to me personally)

At the bottom of this post is a rather excellent short video debunking the moon-landing debunkers. I know a couple of these guys and one is even a friend. But this issue I think is bigger than just what happened in 1969 or if the US lied to us and even the interesting and debatable reasons given by the film maker as to why he thinks people try and discredit the landing.

The reason I find the story important is because in 1969 the USA (with Nixon as president at the time just BTW) gave the world something of a magic moment. Possibly the most unifying event in the history of all mankind and very likely the only unifying event.

The entire world watched as the US placed living men on the moon itself. Something which was widely held to be a total and permanent impossibility by the general public a few years earlier than that and by many pundits and scientists as well.

Grown men wept at the site and again when the men who walked on the moon came home and received parades. Grown men including large Irish NYC cops if P.J. O’Rourque is to be believed.

This was a moment when the entire world felt as one people thanks to the extra planetary perspective the US gave us all, and then magnanimously claimed it was a global achievement. A truth only in as much as in order to accomplish something this massive you need a thousand unskilled uneducated people sewing jeans in Pakistan for every paper pusher in NASA. Probably closer to 100,000 truth be estimated. But a global accomplishment nonetheless.

My guess as to why people need to believe that the moon landing was faked also slightly differs from the film makers below. I think its because people who feel no sense of personal power in life often resort to conspiracy theories, and this often includes irrational antisemitism as well as anti-Israel views (where those views are applied uniquely to Israel) in order to gain a sense of personal importance. ‘I know something you do not and if you do not listen to me it is because they are paying you off or you are brainwashed etc’. (Yes this can be said also of the counter jihad and ‘Islamophobia’. However the body of evidence speaks for itself in that case)

But I resent this meme because I think those that propagate it are attempting to rob humanity of what was truly its finest moment. This was a fever that gripped the entire world and somehow we have allowed the fever of post modern cynicism to delete that from the collective memory. It was what every school child spoke about for class and the subject of every dinner table conversation. It was uniting in a way that was formerly unimaginable. For even the tiniest glimpse of what this was like, watch the most excellent Australian film, ‘The Dish’ which warmly tells the story of the Australian contribution to this herculean effort.

Those who would replace joy, the genuine unity of global accomplishment, pride in the human race and collective ‘Star-Trekian’ hope for the future with bitter and selfish debasement of that accomplishment are robbing us all of something more precious than one can realize. Especially if you had not yet been born and the damage was already done.

Thank you GoV for hipping me to this video.

A general thanks to contributors to Vlad Tepes Blog

I wrote this as a comment on another thread here at this site but was made to realize that it should be read by all the regulars and not just the ones who might be notified of new posts to that particular thread (even though there are some funny and interesting posts on that thread) so here it is as a post:

…I should also mention that from time to time, some people have generously helped out with the costs of this site. I want them to know that it is deeply appreciated, not just for the obvious necessity of helping pay the costs of running a site which is under near constant DDOS and other forms of cyber attacks, but because it tells me that people feel it is important work and that I should keep doing it.

I have not taken a break from it that I recall in the roughly 8 years that I have been operating it. When I am not at this, I am working for the money to do it. I might take a short break after I finish all the Warsaw videos, the second of which I should be posting within the hour, we shall see how I feel then, perhaps in a few weeks. But thank you all for your kind words, and some of you for your donations, some of which have been quite generous and all of which are appreciated and even moving.

Many of us have profound differences in general philosophies and would be bickering or indifferent to each other in good times. But the threat facing liberal democracy today supersedes the vast majority of these differences, even if some of us do not think so at times. Ultimately the freedom to disagree, and to disagree without bloodshed or the threat of force of the state is critical to the well being of a democracy, and one that I feel has already been derailed thanks to rules set out for the media which are tantamount to totalitarianism through brute force, in that both are designed to force you to make decisions in keeping with the ideology of the state. One through force, and one through filtering information so your decisions are cookie cutter ones. Less messy than gulags and harder to fight in many ways. Sites like this at least attempt to aggregate information and ‘de-interpret’ it so that one might see the obvious as opposed to the state sanctioned, scrubbing of information might help allow people to actually make genuine personal decisions based on all available information and perhaps allow a place to discuss events and their meanings.

“Most Influential Blogger Award”

Blazing Cat Fur nominated me for most influential blog award. This is a little like Michael Jordan nominating me for best basketball player award. Except that I do have a blog and I don’t play basketball. Nonetheless I am honored to be considered for this and especially by BCF. A site that actually does break a lot of stories that need breaking, and which does influence the legacy media to report on things, either because BCF discovers stories for them or embarrasses them into reporting on things they should have been covering but where afraid to previously.

Here are the rules for nominees, the answers to the 7 questions posed to me, and my nomination and 7 questions for them.

1. I heard you gave up your Accordion band to join the Counter Jihad. Is that true and what makes it so fulfilling a vocation for you?

Well, if it had been accordion band, giving it up would have been reward enough. I did have a career in the arts though and yes, I had to back-burner it a great deal to do this. The reason being, when one becomes aware of the seriousness and nature of the problem of galloping leftism and Islamic transformation on our cultures and societies, it is exceedingly difficult to turn your back on that knowing that there is no one else working on the problem. In fact, those who are well paid to work on the problem seem comfortably on the other side aiding the enemy and anesthetizing those they are elected to represent. That and this gives me the chance to write lots and lots of run-on sentences.

2. Marx predicted England would be the first to experience revolution. Are we wrong as well in assuming it is nearing its tipping point?

What a tragic thing it is to find myself actually hoping they have one. It seems that this is all that can save them at this point and from this perspective. If England harbours any hope of preserving itself as a culture and a people they should prepare for one. Just not a Marxist one. They already had that one and it isn’t working out so well. As Mark Steyn pointed out, the British Health services, the NHS is the third largest employer in the world after the Chinese army and the Indian Railway.

3.What are your worst fears for the future?

Have a look at the Balkans recent past for the last 35 years or so. England for the past 25 or so. India when Tamerlane swept through with Islamic armies. The muslim ‘archeologists’ in Gaza who dig up any artifact showing Jewish ancestral existence for the sole purpose of destroying it as the Saudis do when an ancient church is unearthed in the KSA. Dagestan in the former USSR, and Afghanistan since the hippies left and it renewed its Islamic roots. Then transfer that to Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton. One can extrapolate pretty easily as we are making the exact same policy errors that they did.

Maybe we should ask the people who used to live in Marseille if they feel we should do things differently than they did.

4. What brings you hope for the future?

Seeing Canadian couples with babies.

5. If you had the Prime Minister’s ear what would you say to him?

Can you please explain to me why it is that you seem to be the most aware leader in the Western world about Islam and the non-miscablity it has with liberal democracy yet you are importing more orthodox muslims into Canada than anywhere else and ever before? How to you see this working out for anybody? We cannot sustain a civilization on the basis of infiltration and whack-a-mole. A nation is made of the people within it, and their shared values. Law, is nothing more than codified culture in every respect. You cannot have a nation of laws and multiculturalism. That creates balkanization at best.

6. Your blog is called Vlad Tepes, how come you don’t decorate it with cool pictures of Dracula? Or better yet Dracula Babes?

When I started this site, I wanted to pick a historical name for someone who most had forgotten was famous in his day for resisting islamic jihad into the West. Vlad Tepes is famous as Dracula but is a genuine hero to the Romanian people for defending his people against Islamic invasion. Although, like the Crusaders, he eventually lost, he was a great man for what he did accomplish till then. People would do well to know his real history. Even muslims often tell their children that Vlad Tepes was a great enemy of Islam. Something which is a very high honour indeed given the nature of it.

I also don’t know any goth chicks well enough to get those photos but maybe after they see this cool award they will send some in to me (hint hint)

7. Who are your must reads in the Jihadosphere?

I am typing these out in the order they occur to me, not in the order of importance or quality.

Fjordman.

Gates of Vienna.

Maj. Stephen Coughlin.

Blazing Cat Fur.

Point De Bascule.

Jihad Watch.

Tundra Tabloids

The EDL sites

Pat Condell

and in 20 minutes I will kick myself for all the people who I speak to and read every week and have forgotten about just at the moment like Front Page and many more. But thankfully the list is growing.

I nominate Point De Bascule.

PDB, Like Blazing Cat Fur, does a ton of original research. Focusing entirely on the jihad on Canada, PDB has files on so many of the nasty characters that inhabit mosques in here, what their backgrounds are, and what their actual connections and activities are. Which typically are at 180 degree odds with what they claim their values are publicly, and PDB busts them. They are what the FBI should be, except they dont get paid and if the government could stop them they probably would. The site is typically bilingual. Again, they do not get paid for this. So they do all that work as volunteers in two languages. Some security personnel in Canada occasionally turn to them to find out details and backgrounds of some of these characters. Just wait a few days and check their site for a brilliant example of exactly what I am talking about. Point De Bascule means ‘The Tipping Point’ and I suspect they may feel Canada is much closer to that then most of us would be comfortable knowing.

My 7 questions for them:

1. Which cities in Canada would you say are the most compromised and penetrated by the Muslim Brotherhood and sharia seeking groups?

2. Can you describe how you got into this and why?

3. Where does Canada stack up in terms of degree of penetration by Islamic orgs. for the purpose of transforming Canada into a more Islamic state as compared to the USA and various European states such as France?

4. What would be your advice to average Canadians to help change the course we are on with respect to Islamification of Canada?

5. How does Quebec differ from English Canada on these issues?

6. To what degree does the legacy media in Canada collude with each other and the government (as it is in England) to cover up Islamic actions in Canada and Quebec?

7. Do we have the same kinds of problems as England and France such as pedophile rape gangs and major areas becoming sharia enforced no-go zones?

You have heard of Spanish Fly?

Well this isn’t that. Parts of Spain have launched a few unusual initiatives to get people to pick up after their dogs. This is a video of one of them.

H/T Fjordman

This one starts the same but moves on to the ‘mail it back to them’ strategy. Thank god it won’t work via email. At least yet.

Riot police clash with protesters in Paris as 300,000 take to the streets to demonstrate against gay marriage

I think its time they stopped calling it, “Gay Paris”

I will not say my personal opinion of this issue at this time. But I don’t think that 300,000 people marching at one time in one city should go unreported.

Paris riot police fought back crowds who pushed their way onto Paris’ landmark Champs-Elysees avenue today as part of a huge protest against a draft law allowing same-sex couples to marry and adopt children.

Up to 300,000 people – conservative activists, children, retirees, priests – converged on the capital in a last-ditch bid to stop the bill, many bussed in from the French provinces.

The lower house of France’s parliament approved the ‘marriage for everyone’ bill last month with a large majority, and it’s facing a vote in the Senate next month.

Both houses are dominated by French President Francois Hollande’s Socialist Party and its allies.

Sustained protests led by opposition conservatives in this traditionally Catholic country have eroded support for the draft law in recent months, and organizers hope Sunday’s march will weigh on the Senate debate.
