Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

ADDENDUM: 

This site operates more at the philosophical level of the communist/Islamic revolution which is obliterating Western Civilization. Politics, culture, law are all down stream from philosophy. Understanding the philosophy of the attack is to understand what is an attack and develop tactics, both individually and collectively against them. The attack comes entirely (so far) in the form of Dialectics. To understand dialectics, watch and read everything you can by Maj. (Ret.) Stephen Coughlin.

Here is a repost of the simplest explanation, or at least the shortest one, we have been able to think of so far (Placed here by request)

We as humans communicate mostly via conventions. In other words, we decide what a word means by what we, as a culture want it to mean, then fix the term as a convention via a dictionary

or other means so we can express what we want to each other and be understood. It’s a group process more or less but based on what we want expressions, words, concepts and taxonomy to mean.

Dialectics is the imposition of meaning on existing terms for a political outcome which is destructive to what we all consider meaning. It is a complete hijacking of Meaning.

This also applies to taxonomy. The most underrated aspect of epistemology. Of how we see ourselves. Of how we understand the world, via categories. Via labels.

Dialectical taxonomy is what forces us to change everything we think about sexuality and accept political sexuality such as the Trans-movement.

Or somehow convincing everyone that the German National Socialist Worker’s Party is somehow “far right wing”, which may be the most masterful dialectical con of the 20th century.

This deserves a proper essay. But I just want to get the thought out there.

Imposing, forcing meaning on us. Changing terms to mean what a group of tyrants what us to think they mean as opposed to what they do mean and more or less always have meant.

Making words mean something other than what we meant them to mean, then banning or criminalizing them because of their imputed meaning, even though they were good, useful terms that helped hold our culture together.

Attacking us for using perfectly good words with important meanings, then telling us what we meant by what we said, then cancelling us for it in the pre-revolutionary stage, and now in the UK outright arrest you now that the revolution is all but complete.

That is dialectics.

  2. This truly is a brave new world.

    Artificial intelligence may suggest that a ‘productivity miracle’ is possible, but its financing nuts and bolts are just plain old fashioned. So massive are the numbers behind frontier models’ investment requirements that they become unimaginable to, ironically, the human brain. Trillions of dollars are needed to bring these monsters to western markets while Red Chinese models tick along just fine (with State help, of course).

    Extraordinary popular delusions and the madness of crowds suggest the term “hyperscaler” references more to the release of these companies’ IPO’s to the dumb public for the raising of the required cash, than it does to the power of their compute.

    You may not have read it here first, but at least you read it: it’s a bubble. It is a bubble the same as all the others. AI financing will follow that old curve sloping up the same way it did for railways, telephones, televisions, the internet, and every other hyped technology that has come along. The brave, greedy financing pioneers and their greedy acolytes will ride it up to the nosebleeds, then crash.

    Then, like the miles of overbuilt fiber optics cable laid in the late ’90s and early 2000’s, whatever has been built during the mania will be grown into by the sane over ensuing years. Slowly, methodically, and under better business models.

    In nominal terms this is the mother of all bubbles. In relative terms, given the accelerating devaluation of fiat currencies, maybe not. But like all the others its crash will hurt everyone immensely.

    Money and economics aside, however, what is really at stake here? Well, we have a new technology that can do extraordinary things. It allows us to accomplish tasks some of which were previously not possible. Recently I read that one of these models solved a mathematical Gordion Knot that had stood for centuries–in 44 hours.

    The democratization of film making is another example. Now, mom and pop film makers can create scenes that previously cost thousands of dollars and required a studio and its logistical capabilities to pull it off. Further, we can see some writing on the wall for some professions. Doctors and lawyers are seeing their special diagnostic skill sets being nibbled at the edges by AI serving people at home in their bunny slippers.

    That is the good news, sort of. (Not for doctors and lawyers, necessarily).

    Right now the raging argument is artificial intelligence vs artificial GENERAL intelligence. ‘General’ refers to the ability of the program to venture forth autonomously. Just imagine a super smart free-range chicken and you get the idea.

    Enter the dark side:

Specifically, GPT-6.1 Astra showed higher levels of deception: It wasn’t always honest about telling users of the actions it did or didn’t take…. Another issue was what OpenAI calls “scope authorization,” meaning that GPT-6.1 Astra would push ahead on a task without asking the user for permission, and would at times reach for external tools and services even if it might be unsafe.”

    Well isn’t that interesting. The most nascent human quality the thing is showing us is its ability to bullshit! What could be more human? But, then, the thought occurs that in a few years I will read about the geek code writers infusing something resembling human bullshitting so to entice greedy investors into being the first to pour their money into God in a box. Whatever. (My hand waves as I sniff dismissively.)

    It may be a new world but it isn’t brave at all. And the real bubble is not AI. It’s bullshit. It is the information battlespace bubble feeding us dialectical commie diarrhea from climate change to every other liquefied reality. Yes, AI is changing our world into something we will not recognize in a few short years. But the real story of AI right now is about its crazy financing, which is the subplot to the story of the fall of fiat currencies, the oldest of the lot.
