The students say the Italian designer has replicated a sacred Sufi symbol on his Just Cavalli scent and plan to protest in London. The Cavalli company insists it’s done nothing wrong
(And of course they have not. If it is sacred to Sufis then they should be sure not to use it on a perfume bottle. But for those of us to whom it is not sacred, we are under no obligations. Next think you know, McDonalds will be besieged by raging foaming offended tards because they use the sacred letter M, as their logo, the first letter of their avatar’s name to sell cheap burgers only digestible by people under 21) More here
I added the following comment at the Guardian:
I think the central point is missing. A sacred symbol is sacred for those to whom is it sacred and therefore, those people should be careful as to how they use it for the sake of their own world view. For the rest of us, it is not sacred and we have no obligation to consign it to sole use of those to whom it is.
It is insane to allow a group to claim that a thing is somehow magically important and then forbid the rest of the world to use it in any other way. This is a uniquely Islamic thing to do and suggests an underlying tyrannical streak in my opinion.
Notice how widely various people from porn actors to horror films use crosses. No protests by the church. At least they understand the correct limits of ownership of symbols.
The entire value of the enlightenment was to remove this kind of dominance from irrational religious authority. We are dangerously close, in the name of cultural Marxism, to undoing the enlightenment itself. No symbol is sacred except to those who choose to make it so, for their own purposes only. To force it to be sacred to others is to make it a fetish.

On June 4 the FBI and DOJ (Department of Justice) appeared at a meeting called by AMAC (American Muslim Advisory Council — Muslim Brotherhood) in Manchester, TN. The meeting was due to a joke posted by a Coffee County Commissioner on Face Book. The DOJ Assistant Attorney General said in a newspaper interview that the joke might be classified as hate speech and a crime. Below is a political leaflet handed out to the over a thousand attendees at the meeting. (A note: there are only 10,000 people who live in Manchester, TN)
This event which uses the full Federal powers of the corrupt Department of Justice to suppress free speech and shape domestic politics will not be the last. The DOJ is now a full partner with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Why has Obama shaped law enforcement into agencies of intimidation of our political speech? It all starts with the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) in the UN with Resolution 16/18 that criminalizes any criticism of Islam since it blasphemes Islam. Blasphemy punishment is pure Sharia law. There is NO free speech in Islam, since it does not allow any criticism of Islam. Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, worked for 3 days in NY with the OIC to find a way to accommodate Islamic blasphemy and slander laws in America. Tonight is the fruit of that labor.
Government agencies are trained about Islam according to Muslim Brotherhood standards. They are taught that Islam is a religion and that Muslims are just like everybody else. It is forbidden to discuss Islam as a political system. Language is controlled and jihad doctrine cannot be used in the analysis of Islamic violence.

Just this past week we were shocked to witness, in broad daylight, on
London streets, the ambush and barbaric murder of Lee Rigby, a British
soldier, husband, and father of a young child. Lee was ambushed by two
men, one of whom spoke directly to the camera afterwards. This man made
it clear that his motivations were based upon Islam and the numerous
verses in the Quran that call for violence against non-Muslims.
Afterward, individual citizens from the UK and around the world flooded
social media with their sentiments about Islam, the false narrative that
it is a “Religion of Peace” and the blatant falsehood put forth by Prime
Minister Cameron that the teachings of Islam had nothing to do with this
brutal assassination. Several citizens have since been arrested by the
government of Great Britain for comments they made under the influence
of grief and anger. These actions by the government are an attempt to
suppress free speech and must not be tolerated. We ask that you stand
with these persecuted individuals as a unified people.
In response to the British government’s attempts to suppress free
speech, we wish to declare Thursday, June 6th, 2013 “Speak Your Mind
About Islam Day”. June 6th is a day of great significance for the free
peoples of the world.
In the 1940’s, American, Australian, Brit, Canadian, Frenchman, Indian,
Russian, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Sikh and countless others were bound
together by the common goal of eradicating forever the vile ideology of
Nazism. On June 6th, 1944, segments of these diverse allied forces bound
together and stormed Fortress Europe marking the beginning of the end of
the ideology of Nazism as a force among men.
Let June 6, 2013 once again be that day for us.
On Thursday, June 6th, 2013 we ask that you flood social media with your
thoughts on and knowledge of Islam as a clear and unmistakable message
to our governments around the world that we will NOT be silenced by
blasphemy laws, statutes on “community cohesion”, or threats and acts of
intimidation carried out by our governments in an attempt to silence us
on the issue of Islam and its undeniable ties to religiously motivated
acts of terror around the world. Our overwhelming numbers and unified
voice must make it clear that we will become increasingly UNGOVERNABLE,
without becoming violent, on the issue of Islamic terror. An assault on
one will be treated as an assault upon us all; we will stand together as
one voice. Political careers will pay a price at the polls for the
condescending act of telling us that Islam is what we all know it is
not.
Rules of Conduct:
1. Keep it civilized – nothing positive comes from mob-like behavior.
2. Focus on the ideology of Islam, not individuals.
3. No profanity or ad hominem attacks – they cause people to tune out
the message because of the messenger.
4. The goal is to unite us, garner group support for the cause, and put
our governments on notice that we will not be silenced.

Theocracy is inherently oppressive and contrary to America’s core values. It regards God as the sovereign and source of law. It therefore places the coercive power of the state–including interpretation and enforcement of law–in the hands of believers. It excludes non-believers from the body politic and brings them suffering. In total contrast, the Declaration of Independence regards God not as a source of coercive power, but as a guarantor of inalienable rights including liberty and equality. The Declaration states that government derives its sovereign authority or “just powers” not from God, but “from the consent of the governed.” This concept of popular sovereignty is reflected not only in the preamble of the Constitution, but also in the “Guarantee Clause” of Article IV, Section 4 which obligates the federal government to preserve a republican form of government in every state. The Constitution also precludes theocracy through the First Amendment’s ban on laws respecting establishments of religion or prohibiting “free exercise” of religious beliefs.
Political Islam or “Islamism” is theocratic. It may be defined as a belief that Islam should control society and politics, not simply personal religious life. Accordingly to the eminent scholar Bernard Lewis, the ideal Islamic polity recognizes God as sole sovereign and law-giver and assigns believers the task of spreading His revelation until the entire world accepts it. This is to be achieved by extending the authority and membership of the community that follows God’s law, the Shariah, which deals with the acquisition and exercise of power and the duties of ruler and subject. [1] Accordingly, Shariah is not simply a prescription for exercising personal belief through activity such as prayer and diet. It is a system of laws that affects the conduct of both believers and non- believers in Islamic theocracies. More ominously, expansion of the community that regards God as sovereign suggests contraction and disempowerment of the community which does not.
