tory_continues_1″>Egyptian police have arrested three al-Qaeda militants planning a suicide attack on a Western embassy, the country’s interior minister says.
Mohammed Ibrahim did not specify which embassy had been targeted, but said a quantity of chemicals had been found.
Mr Ibrahim gave the names of three men and said they were planning attacks in both Cairo and Alexandria.
The plot was said to be in its final stages, he said.
A lawyer for the three men told al-Ahram website they denied all the accusations and he condemned the case as “fabricated”.
At a news conference, the minister gave details of the discovery of 10kg (22lbs) of ammonium nitrate – which can be used in improvised explosives – a computer with files containing information on bomb-making and a flash memory with instructions on how to build rockets.

Tear gas fired as Egyptian Islamists target security HQ

Egyptian security forces fired tear gas to disperse a small group of hardline Islamist protesters who were attempting to scale the walls of the state security headquarters in a Cairo suburb late Thursday night.
Around 2,000 protesters from several Salafi Islamist groups had staged a protest earlier on Thursday night outside the security headquarters against what they said was a return to the force’s pre-revolution methods.
After security forces fired tear gas, the remaining protesters, some of whom had also attempted to break into a nearby police officers’ club, left the area.
The protest points to lingering suspicion harbored by the hardliners about security agencies used against them by ousted President Hosni Mubarak, and which, they say, Islamist President Mohamed Mursi has been unable to reform.
More Egyptian Muslims attack a church and Christians due to the rumour of one muslim girl converting to Christianity and marrying the person of her choice.
The google translation is a little rough on this video but it appears to be saying that officials for some mysterious reason were unable to stop these muslims from attacking a church as a classic islamic response to rumours that a girl converted to Christianity and married a Christian.
Nothing at all savage or primitive about this whatsoever.

Street battles in Cairo leave dozens injured after Islamist protest
Clashes broke out between Islamist protesters and unknown opponents near Cairo’s High Court on Friday, leaving dozens injured.
Thousands of Islamist protesters were holding a rally before the High Court in downtown Cairo to demand the “purge of Egypt’s judiciary” when clashes erupted.
It is still unclear how the clashes started. The Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party’s website accused members of ‘Black Bloc,’ a term used to describe masked men wearing black, of inciting the clashes.
The website also said they used live ammunition, teargas and birdshot against Islamist protesters. Some Islamist demonstrators on the field confirmed the story to Ahram Online.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Sultan, the head of the Egyptian Ambulance Organisation (affiliated to the health ministry), said four have been injured by birdshot.
Sultan later said that the injury toll reached 95 while no deaths have been reported so far.
One of the Muslim Brotherhood’s buses parked in the nearby Abdel-Moneim Riyadh was torched.

Mansoura University clashes between members of the Free Islamic Movement and other students left 12 injured Tuesday, four of whom reported being shot. The rest suffered bruises and abrasions. A bus belonging to FIM was also damaged in the fights.
In response, the university’s President Sayyed Abd el-Khaleq announced the campus will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday with the exception of students taking exams, reported state-run Al-Ahram newspaper.
According to reports, students, who were also FIM members, were bused to the campus, wearing T-shirts that read “Neither Brotherhood nor Salafis, we are young people who love religion.”
Video claims to be muslims raping a Coptic girl in broad daylight
I am hoping that this is not what it claims to be. Even for me, it is hard to fathom a cult that would chant ‘god is great’ and similar things while gang raping a girl.
Next time someone tries to tell you that allah is just the Arabic word for god, ask them when was the last time they heard a Catholic rape gang screaming “Jesus is our lord and saviour” while gang raping a girl for the holy ghost.

CTV Report on muslim on Christian attacks in Egypt
At least it isn’t as morally ambivalent as usual. Most Canadian news reports on this issue make it pretty difficult to figure out the victim from the attacker.
