It is interesting that for non-Arabic speakers the beeps can be the most meaningful part of the video. At least you know he said something that isn’t allowed on TV.

AINA:
(AINA) — Thousands of Copts attended the funeral service held today at St Mark Cathedral in Cairo for the Coptic victims killed by Muslims on April 4 and 5 in al-Khosous, Qaliubiya (AINA 4-6-2013). The service was attended by Christians from all denominations as well as Muslims.
Priests holding the service were unable to calm the Copts and at several times the service was interrupted by the wailing of the mothers of the victims, protests by angry Copts demanding retribution, and chants saying “no to the persecution and killing of Copts.” Political chants dominated the scene, demanding President Morsi to “Go Away,” and banners holding him responsible for the killing of Copts in al-Khosous were displayed.
After the funeral services ended, as coffins and attendants were leaving the cathedral, unidentified persons fired shots in front of the cathedral. It was reported that clashes took place between Copts coming out of the Cathedral and Muslims in the area, and that Muslims were on roof tops of neighboring buildings firing at them (video).
Muslim activists who were present at the funeral, such as renowned activist Alaa Abdel Fatah, and the Maspero Coptic Youth Unions, among others, tried in vain to bring the Coptic youth inside the Cathedral to avoid a confrontation with the Muslim attackers.
Fire broke out in one of the buildings inside the headquarters of the cathedral after Molotov cocktails were hurled at it. The fire was put out by the civil protection forces.
24 Copts were injured and were transported to nearby Demerdash Hospital. One of Copts, Mahrous Hanna Ibrahim, died from gun shots wounds to the head and neck after reaching the hospital.

I recall as a child, often kids would be taught character by saying to an antagonist:
“Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me”.
I suspect children in Egypt, at least the Muslim ones, are taught something quite different.
Parts of the world are starting to look like a 1970s BBC period piece on the middle ages.

Ahram Online journalist reports Coptic mourners are running towards the building where shots were heard from outside of Abassiya cathedral funeral for slain in Qalyubia sectarian clashes
Clashes broke outside the Abassiya cathedral funeral for the victims of sectarian clashes in Qalyubia, Egypt. Mourners exiting the church came upon a street where they were first pelted with stones. The mourners, in turn, shot stones back and shots were heard. A crowd is now moving towards the building where they heard the shots from. An Ahram Online reporter at the scene could not confirm if they were live rounds.
Below, a video of Christians leaving their homes after the attack. Something tells me that this area did not look like this 2 days ago. Certainly less smoke I bet.
H/T Magic Martin for the vid
Interesting to see someone holding up a crucifix in this one. Will post the actual information on this ASAP. H/T Magic Martin for the links and news on this worrying event.
Lasers, night time, yelling
Also Cairo: Fires, yelling etc.
This is indeed an interesting development. It should be known that there have been no diplomatic relations between Egypt and Iran since the Iranian regime named a major street in Tehran after the man who murdered Anwar Sadat because Sadat made a peace deal with Israel. After the MB gained political power in Egypt there has been steady progress towards normalization of relations between the two countries and Iran’s president actually made a trip to Cairo.
So its a rather delicious irony that the ultra religious sunni cultists have decided to attack the Iranian building holding the low level diplomatic mission in Egypt because they are the wrong flavour of Islam.
Gives one hope doesn’t it? Eventually the dragon does have to eat it’s own tail.
Thanks Magic Martin.

Dozens of protesters attempted to storm the residence of the Iranian chargé d’affaires in Cairo on Friday.
The protesters, mostly Salafists, threw stones at the building and daubed offensive slogans on the outer wall.
They chanted against Iran, Shias and the Muslim Brotherhood and in support of the Syrian opposition.
“Let all the Muslim Brothers hear, we will not accept relations between Egypt and Iran,” the protesters chanted. “Iranian ambassador, Egypt will not be Shia, Egypt is a Sunni country” and “Egypt and Syria are one hand.

This is quite a significant event. Lets hope they can keep the pressure up.

Protests against the Muslim Brotherhood, from which President Mohamed Morsi hails, sparked violence in a number of cities across the country on Friday.
The Brotherhood’s main headquarters in the Cairo district of Mokattam was the epicentre of events, and the area surrounding the premises saw prolonged violence between anti-Brotherhood protests and members of the Islamist group. Police repeatedly tried to disperse the crowd with teargas.

Wow I so don’t get the one below. Huge banners of a beard face. No idea who yet.
The google translation for it is: “7 surveillance video scenes of lynching and bullets and blood at the foot of the Mokattam”

At 2:20 in the video below, it would appear that a person standing in the streets is shot dead.

Meanwhile, in another part of Egypt…
Egypt protesters storm Muslim Brotherhood offices in Cairo and Alexandria
CAIRO (AP) — Egyptian protesters have ransacked an office of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party in the northern coastal city of Alexandria.
It was the second such attack on an office of the Islamist group on Friday. The first was in the Cairo neighborhood of Manial.
Both attacks happened as opponents and supporters of the Brotherhood clashed near the group’s headquarters in Cairo.
An Associated Press cameraman saw protesters attack the office in Alexandria, leaving with computers, files and other objects. The attack took place near the site where unknown assailants fought protesters demanding the resignation of President Mohammed Morsi, who is a member of the party.
Brotherhood offices came under attack across Egypt last December.
The group has characterized the assailants as ‘‘thugs’’ and ‘‘counter-revolutionaries’’ seeking to oust the democratically elected leader.
Video appears to be Cairo though
UPDATE:

Clashes between police and protesters in Port Said have left 310 people injured, 33 of whom were shot with birdshot, said Helmy al-Afny, the Health Ministry’s undersecretary in Port Said.
Dozens of protesters attacked the Port Said Security Directorate with Molotov cocktails Sunday, setting the directorate on fire and completely destroying it, after authorities transferred defendants in the ongoing football violence trial to an unknown location late Saturday.
