But won’t this mean that they will have to force women to take their gloves off in front of strangers?

According to a September 27 Masrawy report, because the face (and eyes) of a woman is deemed a great temptation for Muslim men — worthy of covering no less than a woman’s vagina, at least according to one Egyptian cleric — the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, recently called for replacing the personal photos of female university students that appear on their ID cards with their fingerprints, as that “would be best.”
Saudi Grand Mufti: No to female portraits |
Arab newspapers quoted the Grand Mufti in an interview with Saudi female students at Taibah University in Medina. Among other things, he also warned students about the “vocabulary” they use when jesting and against watching “racy” movies.
He also stressed that “Muslim women have a great impact on the community” citing a number of Quranic verses and hadiths.
The report does not mention which hadiths, though it is well known that several hadiths attributed to Islamic prophet Muhammad do stress that females have an impact society — but mostly in negative ways, including by likening women to dogs and donkeys. In the words of Aisha, one of Muhammad’s wives:
I wasn’t going to post this story cause in a way, I don’t care. But it is highly annoying that IKEA plays the sanctimony card in Canada rubbing our noses in tolerance and diversity and then they collapse like one of their own desks whenever a totalitarian misogynistic racist bastard like the KSA ask for changes in their logo and catalogue.
But on the other hand, I take great pleasure in imagining those desert barbarians in the KSA trying to put together one of those IKEA chests of drawers or an office chair. Maybe we should try and force them to buy all their furniture there.

Well I dunno guys but I was watching that live feed and at one point I thought I saw a guy trying to turn the camera off and then this happened. So maybe we have this whole thing figured wrong…

Welcome to sharia, a system the left seem to be embracing by their deafening lack of opposition to it.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Saudi Arabia on Friday began expelling over a thousand Nigerian women on religious pilgrimage to the country because they had arrived without male guardians, the first time it sent back such a large group in enforcement of strict rules governing women.
The government ministry that oversees the Hajj pilgrimage said the 1,100 women had violated a longstanding law by travelling without an immediate male relative, adding that females of all nationalities under the age of 45 must have a male guardian during the Hajj pilgrimage.
“This is a rule that is generally applied to women who have applied for a visa to enter the kingdom,” the Hajj ministry said in a statement.
In Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to travel without a male guardian, such as a father, brother, uncle or husband, or at the very least permission from such a relative. In the past, authorities had allowed women over 45 to perform the annual pilgrimage without the guardians as long as they were in groups with male tour operators and pilgrimage officials.

More than …More than 1,000 Nigerian women pilgrims remained stranded at a Saudi airport for a fifth straight day Thursday after being denied entry into the kingdom because they were not accompanied by men, an airport official confirmed.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said the women have been denied entry because “they are not accompanied by a mahram (the statutory male companion),” adding that talks were continuing between Saudi and Nigerian officials.
The official said that the Nigerian consulate in Jeddah had offered to ensure the women’s return after the annual hajj pilgrimage, but Saudi immigration officials were “sticking to their position.”
The kingdom has yet to release a formal statement regarding the case.
The women had begun arriving at Jeddah airport on Sunday, a report by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, which oversees Nigerian participation in the pilgrimage, said.

Mohabat News — A court in Saudi Arabia sentenced a local man to four months in prison and ordered he be lashed 70 times after he was caught hugging a girl near the Grand Mosque in Makkah, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Members of the Gulf kingdom’s feared religious police were on a routine patrol near the Grand Mosque, the world’s largest Islamic site, when they saw the 52-year-old man hugging the girl, 24, Kabar Arabic language daily said.
If this story is as advertised, it is the second time I am aware of that Interpol has been used to enforce sharia law, and both times by the Saudis. Interpol arrested one man who was accused of using social media network, ‘Twitter’ to type something which was antithetical to Islamic supremacy. This of course is a crime to Muslims and to Islam as a system which demands utter primacy among all people and systems.
Interpol arrested this man for the Saudis in Malaysia even though his ‘crime’ was not one typically thought of as jurisdictional for a Western type law enforcement agency.

In late July Saudi media reported that a Saudi woman named Maryam (28) had illegally both embraced Christianity and fled the country. Her family have charged two men — a Lebanese and a Saudi national — with complicity in her conversion and escape. The men will face court on 15 September. Whilst a woman claiming to be Maryam told an Arabic TV channel that she was converted through a dream and has found peace in Christianity, Saudi media maintain it is all either fraud or coercion. The woman’s family has suggested she is a victim of human traffickers. Interpol is reportedly coordinating with the Saudi Embassy in Stockholm and Swedish authorities to find and return the ‘girl’ before her ‘kidnappers’ can move her to another country. Please pray.
Since late July Saudi media have been buzzing with reports that a 28-year-old Saudi woman has embraced Christianity and fled the country, staying initially in a church in Lebanon before moving on to Sweden. According to the Saudi Gazette, the woman, Maryam, appeared on an Arabic TV channel saying she was tired of performing prayers and fasting during Ramadan — rituals that never brought her any benefit. She also criticised Saudi Arabia’s Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. She claimed to have been converted through a dream and said that though she was raised to hate Judaism and Christianity she has come to love those religions since finding peace in Christianity.
McMekka Burgers?
No, Mecca is still off limits to non-Muslims. The Saudis, care takers of Islam, can never come up with an original idea of their own. It’s both a rip off from Mcdonalds as well as tarnishing its image, the famous ”Golden Arches” are now going to be associated with Islamic supremacism / religious apartheid.

NOTE: We should place these arches at border crossings, denying Saudis entrance until they take theirs down for non-Muslims.
As Islam’s most sacred city, non-Muslims are not allowed to enter Makkah. The arch will indicate where the Haram area starts and where it ends, so that non-Muslims do not go beyond it. Currently the boundaries are indicated by billboards, flags and edifices that fade over time due to erosion and other climatic factors.

Tundra was reminded of the Mickey D, ‘Golden Arches’ by the Saudi gesture. But to me, it looked like something quite different.
Thank you Tundra Tabloids for making this giant golden rack Halal

(MENAFN – Arab News) A number of religious scholars and academics have stressed the need for the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Call and Guidance to beef up monitoring of places of worship. It followed the recent report of a Riyadh mosque serving as a facade for manufacturing explosives.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that it discovered explosive substances and devices at a lean-to of a quiet mosque in Riyadh. Mosques normally use attached rooms to accommodate workers or for library service.
The scholars also demanded deterrent punishments to those who exploit the spiritual atmosphere in mosques to promote chaos in the country, Al-Madinah daily reported on Monday.
According to Stratfor, both Saudi Arabia and Qatar are urging their nationals to leave Lebanon due to threats of kidnappings of Suni Muslims presumably by Syrian regime loyalists. I’m not 100% clear on the rationale yet but it is interesting that both nations have issued this warning to all their citizens within hours of each other.

The objection is one of more than 160 sent by the Saudis to ICANN, the body in charge of web addresses, over its plan to allow hundreds of new “top-level domains” to supplement .com, .co.uk and other existing suffixes.
“Many other Christians use the term ‘Catholic’ to refer more broadly to the whole Christian Church regardless of denominational affiliation,” the Saudi Communication and Information Technology Commission said in its complaint.
Anyone want to make odds on whether this project is actually done? It seems logistically impossible. After all, who is going to allow their wives or daughters to move to a city where they cannot be accessed at the whimsical demands of their male owners? Not to mention that there will be constant jobs in a city that no women there are trained to do.
This has to be a Saudi fiction to appease some conditions the US has put on them for diplomatic relations. Like the claim they will let women drive etc.

Saudi Arabia is planning to build a new city exclusively for women as it bids to combine strict Sharia law and career minded females, pursuing work.
It is thought the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon) has been asked to bring the country up to date with the rest of the modern world with the controversial city, which is now being designed with construction to begin next year.
It is hoped it will allow women’s desire to work without defying the country’s Islamic laws.

The municipality in the Eastern city of Hafuf is expected to attract 500 million riyals (£84m) in investments and it will create around 5,000 jobs in the textiles, pharmaceuticals and food processing industries.
There will be women-run firms and production lines for women.
Although Saudi Sharia law does not prohibit women to work figures show that only 15 per cent of women are represented in the workforce.
