Mahdi Hashi, the British-Somali man who disappeared from east Africa shortly after being stripped of his British citizenship, appeared yesterday in a New York federal court alongside two Swedish men. All three appear to have been rendered by the United States from Djibouti, and have now been charged with terrorism offences.

Hashi, 23, is accused of ‘providing material support’ to Somali militant group al Shabaab. A statement released by the FBI revealed that Hashi has been in the US penal system since November 12. Neither his family nor his UK legal team were informed.

The US claims that between 2008 and 2012 Hashi carried out weapons and explosive training with al Shabaab and was ‘deployed in combat operations to support al Shabaab’s military action in Somalia.’ It adds that he allegedly participated in ‘an elite al Shabaab suicide bomber program’.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A Pakistani-born man wanted to avenge the deaths of U.S. drone attacks in Afghanistan by blowing up a New York City landmark but lacked the money and materials to carry out the plan, a federal prosecutor said Tuesday.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Gilbert said at a bail hearing that Raees Alam Qazi, 20, researched bomb-making techniques on Internet sites affiliated with al Qaeda, including one using Christmas tree lights, and the FBI recorded phone calls and conversations linking Qazi to a purported “lone wolf” plot.

“He fully intended to do this, and thankfully he didn’t have enough money,” Gilbert said. Referring to casualties in U.S. drone attacks, she added: “He wants to avenge those deaths and kill people.”

In a diplomatic shift, President Obama said today his administration now formally recognizes the newly-formed, leading coalition of Syrian rebels who are fighting to topple Syria’s embattled President Bashar Assad.

“We’ve made a decision that the Syrian Opposition Coalition is now inclusive enough, is reflective and representative enough of the Syrian population that we consider them the legitimate representative of the Syrian people in opposition to the Assad regime,” Obama said.

Well ,now that they have killed all the Christians then I guess the remainder is inclusive. Other than those who support the current regime of course.

Here is a link to the infamous clip of muslim anti Asaad fighters letting or making a child behead a prisoner. Here is a link to a Christian village wiped out, the Christians “slaughtered like animals”. So I guess these guys weren’t included. The rest of the article can be read here.

Muslim Brotherhood Propoganda Event in New York Explodes into Violence and Protest (VIDEO)

Essam El-Erian is the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s top foreign propaganda figure and with the Muslim Brotherhood hard at work seizing power and torturing protesters, he had his work cut out for him when he arrived at the Al-Noor Islamic School in Brooklyn, New York.

The Al-Noor School is on the NYPD’s list as “Schools of Concern” which made it a natural fit for El-Arian. Esaam El-Arian delivered the usual fairy tales about the new modern and human-rights oriented Egyptian Constitution, written by men who think that Christians and women are an inferior breed. And then things began to get interesting.

12/7/2012: U.S. Government Advisory Body Concerned by Draft Egyptian ConstitutionPDFPrintE-mail

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 7, 2012 | By USCIRF

The Egyptian Constituent Assembly on November 30 approved a draft constitution that includes problematic provisions limiting freedom of religion or belief for all Egyptians.

“The constitution was drafted without a balanced representation of all the Egyptian constituencies; as a result the religious freedom provisions of the draft constitution are deeply flawed.  If approved by referendum, the draft would enshrine into law one group’s view of religion that could severely limit religious freedom for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.  The draft also would  undermine the goals of the January 25, 2011 revolution, which many saw as the first step toward a new day for rights and liberties in Egypt after decades of dictatorship,” said USCIRF Chair Katrina Lantos Swett. “The draft text favors an interpretation of one conservative school of Sunni Islam above all others and fails to provide for full conscience protections, for Muslims, non-Muslims, and dissidents. Furthermore, religious communities not considered among the ‘divine’ would be deprived of their religious freedoms.”

Hasty passage of the draft constitution concluded a contentious process. The major Islamic institution in Egypt, Al-Azhar, the Constitutional Court, as well as many liberal, Christian, minority and dissenting representatives abandoned the process, voicing concerns that the process was flawed, the representation not balanced, and the draft not reflective of the principles of freedom.  The document is scheduled for a popular referendum on December 15.

“The Egyptian people have a unique opportunity to lay the foundations for a prosperous and stable society that builds upon the talents of all their citizens, regardless of faith or belief,” continued Lantos Swett.  “Unfortunately, this draft suffers from many procedural and substantive deficiencies, and if it were to become law would set the stage for more – not fewer – religious freedom violations and sow the seeds of discord among the Egyptian people, as well as future uncertainty, instability, and insecurity.”

For Egypt to achieve lasting stability, it must fully respect the rule of law and comply with international human rights standards including freedom of religion or belief.  USCIRF recommended in 2012 that the U.S. government designate Egypt a “country of particular concern” (CPC) because of the particularly severe violations of religious freedom perpetrated or tolerated by the government, such as discrimination, intolerance and violence committed against religious minorities and disfavored Muslims.
