The jury trickles in. Christmas slaughter looking more like honour killing than like mental breakdown.

Jihad watch via The Blaze brings us some interesting facts. The father would not let the daughter wear certain things, not date till an unspecified age, not date outside the religion, and was constantly checking cell phone records. The daughters were terrified of him. As we predicted yesterday, this would likely be an honor killing.

Lots of video and pictures and information over at the Blaze. The original Jihad Watch link is here.

From the news reports I saw, the rest of the family sounded like great Americans, celebrating Christmas and greeting returning troops with enthusiastic cheers. I hope that history will show that the murder of these people will be properly avenged by Western nations waking up and passing appropriate legislation to deal with Islam and it’s inevitable consequences on free societies.

May all but the killer rest in peace.

Iranian Muslim slaughters entire family dressed as Santa in Texas.

This is horrible. Of course we will have to wait till the now-mandatory, ‘too late for outrage’ period has passed before we see somewhere on page 23 for half a column inch that he was a devout Muslim and this was an honor killing as his wife forced him out. But for the moment we know his family seemed great, was a good American family who liked all aspects of US life and supported the troops but were Iranian Muslims. Right up to the point where the estranged husband slaughtered everyone dressed as Santa, they were an excellent example of the moderate Muslim.

And frankly even if this was not an honor killing, an Islamic background and imprinted value-set would have been at least a factor in his decision to do what he did.

Here is an article from the Star-Telegram’ which says they were a Muslim family but celebrated Christmas as an American cultural practice.

Baby born to Muslim mother after affair must be adopted to stop honour killing attempts by ‘shamed’ grandfather

From The Daily Mail:

  • Unmarried mother ran away after becoming pregnant because she feared what her father would do
  • One-year-old baby girl will be adopted by Muslim family
  • Natural father wanted child to live with him and his wife

A baby born to a Muslim mother after an affair must be adopted to prevent the child becoming the victim of an honour killing, the Court of Appeal ruled today.

The baby’s mother, who is not married, was so ‘terrified’ of how her family would react to her affair with a married man and becoming pregnant that she ran away from home.

She then concealed her pregnancy by wearing loose clothes and travelling to the other side of town for her antenatal care.

As soon as the baby – known only as Q – was born the mother gave her up for adoption.

Upholding a High Court decision, three judges ruled that Q’s father could not have his daughter to live with him because of the risk the baby’s maternal grandfather would track her down. Continue Reading →

Pakistan: ‘675 women, girls’ killed for honour in first 9 months of year

 ADNKRONOS

last update: December 20, 12:15

Islamabad, 20 Dec. (AKI) – At least 675 Pakistani women and girls were murdered during the first nine months of the year in so-called honour killings, according to a news report, citing a senior official in the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
Many of the victims were gang raped before being killed, the unnamed official said. At least 71 victims of the killings committed for allegedly defaming family honour were under 18 years old, the AFP news agency reported.

At least 19 were killed by their sons, 49 by their fathers and 169 by their husbands, AFP reported. Many of the victims were accused of having affairs or marrying without permission The Commission reported 791 honour killings in 2010 and there was no discernible decrease this year, the official added.

The Afghan father accused in the deaths of almost half his clan is painting an idyllic picture of family life in Canada.

Mohammad Shafia, now 58, took the witness stand to testify in his own defence Thursday morning.

Led through his evidence by his lawyer Peter Kemp, Mr. Shafia said he was a liberal parent who didn’t care how his daughters dressed, and twice sobbed as he spoke about them.

His testimony is starkly at odds with how other witnesses have described the household. They said Mr. Shafia ran the house with an iron hand and that the girls lived like political prisoners.

Still, when he described finding a picture of 17-year-old Sahar with a boy, after the death of the girl and two sisters, he said, “My children did a lot of cruelty to me.”

He, his second wife Tooba Mohammad Yahya, and their oldest son Hamed are pleading not guilty to four counts each of first-degree murder.

Sisters Sahar, 19-year-old Zainab and 13-year old-Geeti, plus Mr. Shafia’s first wife Rona Amir Mohammad, were found June 30 2009 in a black Nissan submerged at the Kingston Mills locks outside this city.

But Mr. Shafia’s two and a half hours of examination-in-chief was riddled with inconsistencies. At one point, for instance, he said he and Ms. Yahya had been at the Kingston Mills area before, apparently meaning on other holidays; at another, he said he’d never seen the area until Kingston Police showed him the accident scene.

And despite his self-portrait as a loving and kind father whose daughters called him “daddy,” it was evident he was still furious that Sahar had a boyfriend and that she and Zainab were dressing in short skirts.

“I was not happy with this,” he said of his purported discovery, after the four died, of a photo of Sahar with a boy’s arms around her. “I didn’t expect this of my children.”

Mr. Kemp put to him some of the most damaging statements Mr. Shafia made on police wiretaps which are now exhibits at trial — notably his furious wish that “the devil s—- on their graves.”

“To me, it means the devil will go out and check with them in their graves,” Mr. Shafia said. “If they have done a good thing, or a bad thing, it will be up to God.”

He will be cross-examined later Thursday.

Nearly 3,000 so-called honour attacks were recorded by police in Britain last year, new research has revealed.

According to figures obtained by the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (Ikwro), at least 2,823 incidents of ‘honour-based’ violence took place, with the highest number recorded in London.

The charity said the statistics fail to provide the full picture of the levels of ‘honour’ violence in the UK , but are the best national estimate so far.

The data, taken from from 39 out of 52 UK forces, was released following a freedom of information request by Ikwro.

In total, eight police forces recorded more than 100 so called honour-related attacks in 2010.

The Metropolitan Police saw 495 incidents, with 378 reported in the West Midlands, 350 in West Yorkshire, 227 in Lancashire and 189 in Greater Manchester.

Cleveland recorded 153, while Suffolk and Bedfordshire saw 118 and 117 respectively, according to the figures.

Between the 12 forces able to provide figures from 2009, there was an overall 47 per cent rise in honour attack incidents. Continue Reading →

Slain girl desperate to leave home.

The more Islam a place has, the less free, the more dangerous, and generally more barbaric any location will be. The evidence for this is so absolutely overwhelming that sometimes the act of blogging it seems preposterously insulting to the intelligence. Nonetheless, political correctness has caused so many really decent and good people to selectively edit their own perception in order to fit the narratives of multiculturalism (an oxymoron if ever there was one) and notions of criticism of culture or religiously inspired behaviors as somehow ‘racist’, that it is necessary to continue to post this material. Add this story to the one below on Dagestan and it is not that hard to extrapolate.

More Islam = more horror. That is what Islam insists on. Because when your religion teaches that the only sure way to a paradisiacal after life is death while fighting against ‘un-believers’ then when can you ever really stop fighting? at what stage? Eventually you have to fight people of other sects or those you can accuse of not being sufficiently devout or impure of thought.

honour killing victim Ont.

KINGSTON, Ont. — Sahar Shafia reported a suicide attempt to her Montreal teachers just weeks before she was found dead at the Kingston locks in June 2009, a Kingston courtroom heard Wednesday.Vice principal Josee Fortin said Sahar told her: “I wanted to die. I had enough. I wanted to die.”

The girl also told Fortin that her mother, Tooba, responded to the suicide attempt by saying, “Let her do what she wants. Let her die.”

Court heard about a number of problems the Shafia children were having at Antoine-de Saint-Exupery school in the spring 2009.

Fortin said Sahar told her about being physically disciplined by her older brother, Hamed, and being alienated by her family in the home.

She was also unhappy about having to wear the hijab, a veil that would cover her hair in the Muslim tradition.

That same month, Sahar’s sister, Geeti, 13, told her teachers she wanted to be removed from the Shafia home and put into foster care. Continue Reading →

Belgium: Pakistani family stand trial for ‘honour killing’

16 November 2011

BRUSSELS — A Pakistani family of four go on trial Thursday in connection with the “honour killing” of a 20-year-old woman who defied them by living with a Belgian and refusing an arranged marriage.Sadia Sheikh, a Belgian law student of Pakistani origin, was shot dead by three bullets fired by her older brother Mudusar on October 22, 2007, when visiting her family who had pledged to patch up their quarrel.

Her parents and sister are accused of aiding and abetting the killing.

She had left the family home to study after her shopkeeper parents tried to arrange a marriage with a cousin living in Pakistan she had never met.

Before moving in with a Belgian man her age named Jean, she spent some time in a centre for victims of domestic violence where she drew up a will as she felt threatened.

She nonetheless agreed to visit the family in hopes of making peace.

Her parents and sister have denied involvement in the murder, saying Mudusar, now aged 27, killed his sister in a fit of anger. Continue Reading →

Jordan: Man cuts sister throat to cleanse family honour

ANSAMED:

(ANSAmed) – AMMAN, NOVEMBER 16 – A man from the southern city of Tafilah killed his sister in public by slitting her throat for being involved in a romantic relation, police sources said on Wednesday.

The 18 year old man attacked his sister in the main bus station of the town, before being arrested, said the sources.

Eye witnesses said medics arrived when the girl was making her last breath as investigation continued to determine other culprits in the brutal attack.

The killer told police he wanted to kill his sister to cleanse the family honour after the victim admitted involvement with a man who wanted to marry her, said the police sources.

The death brings number of women killed in the name of honour to nearly 15 since the start of the year, say officials.

The government promised to adopt an iron fist policy with such cases following campaigns from human rights groups.

But activists say strict social habits make it difficult to eradicate such phenomena.

Killers are often handed a sentence between six months to one year for the murder, say activists.

Man accused of killing daughters cursed them as ‘treacherous,’ court hears

YAHOO.COM

Nov 14 2011

KINGSTON, Ont. – A Montreal man charged with killing his three daughters cursed them as “treacherous” for having boyfriends and said even if they came back to life 100 times he would “do the same again,” court heard Monday.

“Even if, God forbid, they hoist us onto the gallows … we accept it wholeheartedly,” Mohammad Shafia is heard telling his wife and son on a police intercept one day before the three were arrested.

Shafia, 58, his wife Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 41, and their son, Hamed, 20, have each pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder.

Three teenage Shafia sisters, Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13, along with Rona Amir Mohammad, 50, Shafia’s other wife in a polygamous marriage, were found dead inside a car submerged in the Rideau Canal in Kingston, Ont., on June 30, 2009.

Several intercepts, made from listening devices placed in the family’s minivan, home and on Hamed’s cellphone in the days leading up to their July 22, 2009, arrests were played in court Monday. Shafia largely dominates the conversations, lamenting the fact that his daughters were dating, and rants about family honour.

Court has heard that much of the family turmoil surrounded Zainab and her boyfriend, whom she married for one day, and relatives have testified that Shafia wanted to kill her. Yahya is heard on one intercept saying she knew Zainab was “already done,” but she wishes the “two others” weren’t. Continue Reading →
