Map of the NetherlandsLet us consider the case of the Netherlands. Islamic practices there gain more and more public acceptance. There is talk of making Islamic holidays public holidays because Holland is a “Judeo-Christian-Islamic” society, whatever that is. There are plans for a Muslim-only hospital, and former Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner stated that the Dutch should give Muslims more freedoms to behave according to their traditions: “For me it is clear: if two-thirds of the Dutch population should want to introduce the Sharia tomorrow, then the possibility should exist,” according to him. “It would be a disgrace to say: ‘That is not allowed!’“

The idea is by no means far-fetched. Unofficial sharia courts have been operating for years in major European cities and gradually gain official acceptance. In September 2008 it was made known that British authorities will formally accept rulings of sharia courts on certain matters. This means that Britain has not just culturally but also legally surrendered to its new Muslim masters. The political elites will put up no resistance whatsoever to continued Islamization.

Britain is one of the worst countries in the Western world, which says a lot given how bad many others are, but it belongs to a growing group of nations where the authorities have more or less surrendered to Islamic rule, openly promote Islamic “culture”, and harass those who resist. One could add Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, and probably France to the list, which keeps growing. Norway, Spain, Austria, Germany and others are not far behind.

The Netherlands, which for centuries was a haven for those seeking more freedom of thought, is becoming an increasingly totalitarian society as a direct result of mass immigration in general and Muslim immigration in particular. This is the reason why the insightful Hans Janssen, Professor of Modern Islamic Ideology at Utrecht University, stated that a peaceful society that wishes to remain existent “will have to find a way to defend itself through non-peaceful means from people who are not peaceful.” According to Jansen, Muslim fundamentalists frequently make threats, but Dutch media remain silent about them.

Leftists and Islam team up to make Holland a totalitarian state

Recently in a televised session of the Dutch parliament the plug was pulled on state TV to prevent Geert wilders, leader of the peoples freedom party in the Netherlands from giving his say about the years government policies.

The fact that leftist bureaucrats use their positions at government orgs. like TV stations to create real power for themselves and therby take it away from elected representatives and therefore the people is a much more serious thing than this may appear on the surface. One has to wonder how often this happens here in Canada. I suspect its so much the norm at the CBC that the plug doesnt have to get pulled. A thing the left doesn’t like never makes it to air or is so badly mangled as to make any opposing voice seem fanatical or insane.

Perhaps some Dutch speaking reader of this blog would be kind enough to translate as much of this speech as did make TV for us so we know what at least prompted Dutch State TV to cause a mysterious technical problem that was solved the second Geert Wilders was finished speaking?

Here is the text from Dutch blog, Klein Verzet (little resistance) out of Holland

Geert Wilders on BBC’s hard talk video

It might be fun to guess before you watch how the BBC will interview Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician who dared to suggest that Islam may not be miscible with the values of Holland. Will they interview him in such a manner that offers a fair and decent chance for Geert to express his views in defense of liberal values? worth watching for sure.

Dutch remove painting from gallery as breasts offend Muslims

Is this what we can expect from what was the most liberal and tolerant nation on earth in the near future? Radio-Netherlands reports that an image with a womans mammary glands showing was offensive to Muslims (of course like who else could it be) so it was removed. Quoting from the article

“A major museum in The Hague recently removed from its walls photographs considered highly insulting to Muslims, claiming that a museum has a public function. A few weeks ago, a painting of bare-breasted women was removed from the main public area of the town hall of Huizen.”

Very disappointing from the Dutch. An experiment of real liberalism destroyed by political correctness and the simple misunderstanding of where tolerance ends and raw stupidity begins.

The Guardian: Stop being cowards about Islam

Johann Hari: We need to stop being such cowards about Islam

Thursday, 14 August 2008

This is a column condemning cowardice – including my own. It begins with the story of a novel you cannot read. The Jewel of Medina was written by a journalist called Sherry Jones. It recounts the life of Aisha, a girl who was married off at the age of six to a 50-year-old man called Mohamed ibn Abdallah. On her wedding day, Aisha was playing on a see-saw outside her home. Inside, she was being betrothed. The first she knew of it was when she was banned from playing out in the street with the other children. When she was nine, she was taken to live with her husband, now 53. He had sex with her. When she was 14, she was accused of adultery with a man closer to her own age. Not long after, Mohamed decreed that his wives must cover their faces and bodies, even though no other women in Arabia did.

You cannot read this story today – except in the Koran and the Hadith. The man Mohamed ibn Abdallah became known to Muslims as “the Prophet Mohamed”, so our ability to explore this story is stunted. The Jewel of Medina was bought by Random House and primed to be a best-seller – before a University of Texas teacher saw proofs and declared it “a national security issue”. Random House had visions of a re-run of the Rushdie or the Danish cartoons affairs. Sherry Jones’s publisher has pulped the book. It’s gone.

An article about Geert Wilders of Holland. His views and ideals.

From Dianna West

Posted by: Diana West Thursday, July 03, 2008 4:26 AM

This Fourth of July, light a firecracker for Geert Wilders–a true son of liberty.

From today’s column:

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands — Having run the polite-but-grim gauntlet of Dutch government security to gain access to Geert Wilders, I finally understood what the 24-hour security requirements of the man’s continued existence really mean: To make the survival of Western-style liberty in the Netherlands his political cause, this Dutch parliamentarian has to live under high-tech lock and key.

This stunning paradox, with no end in sight, illustrates how far political freedom in the West has already eroded. Think of it: For writing about the repressive ideology of Islam, for arguing against the inequities of Sharia (Islamic law), for making a video (“Fitna”) to warn about Islamic jihad, Wilders lives in his own non-Islamic country under a specifically Islamic death threat.

If it is politically incorrect to notice this, it is also indisputably true. True, too, is that, sans state security, this death threat could conceivably be carried out anytime, anywhere — from the picturesque streets outside the Dutch parliament, to the house Wilders hasn’t slept in since 2004. That, of course, was when, on an Amsterdam street, a Muslim assassin plunged a knife into Theo van Gogh’s corpse, thus attaching the Islamic manifesto threatening both Wilders and his then-parliamentary colleague, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, with death.

Video: Geert Wilders speaks to Danish Parliament

This is a great video of Geert Wilders, the maker of the short movie about Islam in Europe called ‘Fitna’ which is here on this blog and is a must see, speaks to the Danish Parliament about Islam in Europe. He pulls no punches and I’m going to guess the Danish Parliament is somewhat receptive to him as this speech comes less than a week after the Danish Embassy was attacked in Pakistan…
