Comic on the return of Mohamed
I have no idea who did this or where they are. It was sent to me out of the blue, and frankly, I do not post stuff merely because it offends Islamic sensabilities. Ok now and again yes I do if Muslims have just killed a lot of people in the name of Islam, or if they have done something to curtail freedom of speech in a Western liberal democracy.
But this passed my test which is specifically, ‘does it make me laugh out loud at least a couple of times.’
I hope you enjoy. Part II will be posted tomorrow and III on Friday. And good news. There is something to offend everyone in todays instalments. Except Sam Raimi as this artist made Mohamed look a lot like the cover of the book in his movie, The Evil Dead, one of my favourite films.
Canada starts it’s own Tea Party movement
Here is Ottawa’s own Fred Litwin of Free Thinking Films, the man who brought in Bruce Bawer, Sam Solomon and Bat Ye’or now speaking at Ottawa’s first Tea party.
Czech president tells UN to stay out of economics
Vaclav Klaus has been, and remains one of my favourite politicians of all time….
From Reuters:

* Klaus opposes calls for increased UN role in economics
* Says more regulation is wrong way out of crisis
UNITED NATIONS, Sept 25 (Reuters) – Czech President Vaclav Klaus on Saturday criticized U.N. calls for increased “global governance” of the world’s economy, saying the world body should leave that role to national governments.
The solution to dealing with the global economic crisis, Klaus told the U.N. General Assembly, did not lie in “creating new governmental and supranational agencies, or in aiming at global governance of the world economy.”
“On the contrary, this is the time for international organizations, including the United Nations, to reduce their expenditures, make their administrations thinner, and leave the solutions to the governments of member states,” he said.
Klaus appeared to be responding to the address of the Swiss president of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, who said on Thursday at the opening of the annual gathering of world leaders in New York that it was time for the United Nations to “comprehensively fulfill its global governance role.”
Deiss suggested the world body should get more involved in economic and financial issues and not leave them solely in the hands of forums like the Group of 20 club of key developed and developing nations.
Klaus, a free-market economist who oversaw a wave of privatization in the 1990s after communism collapsed in his homeland, also said the world was “moving in the wrong direction” in combating the economic crisis. Continue Reading →
Found: genes that make kids smart
SCIENTISTS have identified more than 200 genes potentially associated with academic performance in schoolchildren. The Australian.com
Those schoolchildren possessing the “right” combinations achieved significantly better results in numeracy, literacy and science.
The finding emerged from a study of more than 4000 British children to pinpoint the genes and genetic combinations that influence reasoning skills and general intelligence.
One of its main conclusions is that intelligence is controlled by a network of thousands of genes with each making just a small contribution to overall intelligence, rather than the handful of powerful genes that scientists once predicted.
The researchers believe their work could eventually lead to genetic tests to predict babies’ academic potential. Continue Reading →
A brief study on Identical Twins
Here is a fascinating one minute video that shows perhaps more clearly than anything else I have seen, the power of genetics as well as the effect of the environment on twins.
Notice how the manner of speaking and posture is pretty much identical, yet the content …
Obama & transparency
I am posting this not because of the ‘birther’ issue, but because the information in this video is factual. I remember each event as it took place. Whether or not Obama was born in the USA, he did indeed seal his records.
Not to mention yet another excellent example of MSNBC’s pravda like deception in reporting.
Daily laugh
Now this is funny. I have a few questions of my own I would have asked such as, ‘are you aware of the rules against taking bribes? What about taking the office furniture home?
‘That’s not a Lay-sah. This, is a lay-sah.’

Bull jumps out of the ring, attacks crowd.
I have been to a bull fight in South America and as a result I have mixed feelings about this. I really found the ritual slaughter of a bull difficult to watch. It most certainly is not a fight. It is a ceremonial butchery.
The music I am told, is from an old British game show called, ‘Bullseye’ and hence the joke. If you want to see the drama of this clip turn the sound off the first time you watch, then watch again with it on for the ‘joke’.
In any case, thats 2,453,236 for the monkeys, and 1 for the bull.
Chinese general warns govt. China must have US style democracy to survive
A Chinese General has warned his political masters that China will see a Soviet style collapse if it does not adopt US style democracy. Very interesting indeed.
Here is the link to the Stratfor analysis. I believe you have to be a member to see the video, but it’s worth a click to find out.
