DHAKA (Reuters) – One night in February, Rajib Haider was set upon near his Dhaka home by five knife-wielding youths. His face was so lacerated that a relative who found the body wasn’t sure it was him until he called Haider’s cellphone and heard it ring inside a pocket.

Haider was a blogger, one of hundreds in Bangladesh demanding the death penalty for Islamist leaders accused of wartime atrocities, whose grisly murder swelled the crowds at student-led rallies many hailed as a “Bangladesh Spring”.

Bangladeshi muslims demand that anyone who insults the pirate mohamed be killed

BBC story here

This can be expected where the number of Muslims rise to the point where they can enforce this on their own. We have already seen attempted assassinations in Sweden and Denmark and other nations where the hated unbeliever have dared not be submissive to the violent, thuggish and profoundly superstitious masses.

Soon, this will be everywhere. Sharia law does not need an act of parliament to become a fact. It simply needs to be the standard through which things are allowed, or individuals punish those who deviate from its demands. This being the case, it already is everywhere. The issue is degree and speed of delivery of sentence.

A wave of deadly violence, looting, and arson is currently sweeping across parts of Bangladesh.  This follows the sentencing to death of Delwar Hossain Sayedee the Bangladeshi leader of the Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami party.  This followed his conviction for war crimes committed during the 1971 War of Independence which included including mass killings, rape and atrocities (1).

The website, Struggle for Hindu Resistance suggests that Hindu’s in Bangladesh have borne the brunt of the Jamaat-e-Islami violence that followed the court’s decision.  It shows a graphic picture of a Hindu child with severe flesh wounds allegedly inflicted by the Jamaat-e-Islami mob.  WARNING: The image which is prominently place on the article is very graphic and very upsetting but the article, with the image, can be seen on the Struggle for Hindu Existence website – view at your own risk HERE) (2).

An answer from Bangladeshi counter-jihad bloggers.

I posted this video and this question, “are the police in bangladesh a muslim force?” to a newly formed group of Indian and Bangladeshi human rights activists I am privileged to be in contact with.

Below the video is the answer I received.

Yes, we are fighting with some Jaamat E Islami groups who buchered our brothers and sisters in the year,1971. we support Human rights but the rights should be exercised with an eye to the rights of every citizen who want peace and tranquility in the society. Yesterday on Thursday there are several attacks on Hindu houses, set their houses on fire, looted several materials Noakhali and Chittagong Banskhali. In Banskhali 20 Hindu houses set on fire, 26 persons seriously injured due to fire. This sort of intolerance on the parts of perpetrators should be stopped and the perpetrators should be brought to book as per law of the land.

A blogger who had been critical of Bangladesh’s Islamist groups was killed in the capital late Friday, police said, a day after he attended a big rally against leaders of the country’s largest Islamic party.

Protests championed by the country’s bloggers have seen thousands of people take to the streets demanding the execution of leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami party who are under trial for war crimes. Clashes between police and Islamist protesters demanding the trials be halted have also rocked the capital.

Police found the body of Ahmed Rajib, 35 — better known by his online identity Thaba Baba — near his home in Dhaka’s Pallabi suburb, with his head hacked apart with a machete.

A Jesuit, professor at the major seminary in Dhaka, explains the difficulties of the Christians and Catholics, often plagued by extreme poverty. Conversion to Islam for marriage increasingly widespread. In the era of communication and globalization, it is urgent to focus on young people.

Dhaka (AsiaNews) – Expropriation of land, conversion to Islam, deeper religious formation: these are some of the challenges that the Church in Bangladesh faces day after day. In an interview with AsiaNews, Fr. John Chinnappan SJ, professor of philosophy and theology at Holy Spirit Major Seminary in Dhaka, speaks of the problems of the Christian community, a minority of just 0.3% compared with 90% Muslim majority. The teacher engaged in social interaction and communications, describes a small church in number, but “vibrant in faith,” which, however, must act more forcefully in the field of justice and human rights. Below the Jesuit’s interview with AsiaNews.
