More islamic terrorism in Australia today, foiled by police

Teen charged with terrorism offences after Melbourne police raids

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with terrorism offences following a raid by state and federal police at a home in Greenvale, in Melbourne’s north, thwarting what police described as “an imminent threat to the community”.

Heavily-armed officers from Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police swarmed the large two-storey home on Clare Boulevard in Greenvale on Friday afternoon.

The teen was charged on Friday afternoon with engaging in an act in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act.

Police said the alleged attack was to target a location in Australia.

They said it will be alleged the teenager was undertaking preparations for an act of terrorism, as well as possessing things that relate to the commission of a terrorism act.

[…] AFP Deputy Commissioner Mike Phelan said the bomb squad then discovered improvised explosive devices at the home.

 

Meanwhile, in another Australian city…


A smaller raid took place in Sydney, and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested, News Corp has reported.

Several explosives found in the Melbourne home were detonated in a nearby park on Friday night.

A car parked in the driveway of the home, on Clare Boulevard, was also searched, and its contents were strewn across the road.

Police will hold a news conference on the raids at 10am on Saturday.

Police were out in force in West Perth on Saturday morning keeping apart rival rallies.

Anti-Islam protesters gathered outside Colin Barnett’s offices on Harvest Terrace to take part in the national Reclaim Australia series of rallies.

A short distance away in Solidarity Square, close to Parliament House, a group of anti-racist protesters gathered to demonstrate against Reclaim Australia.

There was a call to arms over the weekend that is, in any terms, truly frightening.

It came from a known Islamist who wants to raise an army to impose Sharia law here in Australia.

His message was met by cries of “Takbir… Allahu Akbar!” by his followers at Lakemba in Western Sydney.

“Eventually, we will bounce back and we will reclaim everything that they have taken from us,” Bilal Merhi told the crowd.

Two men were arrested as part of an ongoing counterterrorism investigation into a group that officials have accused of plotting to kill a random member of the public in Sydney, police said Wednesday, one day after the nation’s prime minister warned of heightened terrorist chatter in the aftermath of a deadly siege in a Sydney cafe.

Sulayman Khalid, 20, was charged on Tuesday with possession of documents designed to facilitate a terrorist attack, while a 21-year-old was charged with breaching a control order, police said.

Australian Federal Police Deputy Commissioner Michael Phelan said there was no specific terrorist threat and the arrests were related to an ongoing counterterrorism operation that led to a series of raids in Sydney in September. One man was charged at that time with conspiring with an Islamic State leader in Syria to behead a random person in Sydney.

4. Funeral Directors Refuse Body Of Sydney Terrorist: ‘Throw Him In The Sh*thouse’

The body of the lone terrorist behind the attack on the Sydney, Man Haron Monis, is unlikely be receive a proper burial after Muslim funderal directors said his body should either be thrown in the sea or “chucked in the bloody sh*thouse”.

So far no-one has claimed the 50-year-old’s body, meaning that he would have a state funded funeral but this would be contingent on them finding a company willing to do it.

The Australian Daily Telegraph attempted to locate a Muslim firm willing to do the funeral and discovered that none were willing to be involved. Amin Sayed, funeral director at the Lebanese Muslim Association was particularly robust. He said: “We don’t care about him, we don’t know him, chuck him in the bloody sh*thouse.”

5. Man accused of plotting act of terror charged with three extra counts of financing jihad in Syria

The man arrested in pre-dawn raids across Sydney in September has been hit with three new terror-related charges.

While the original charge of planning an act of terror against Omarjan Azari, 22, still stands, prosecutors on Friday conceded the alleged act was not a beheading and was not planned for Martin Place, the scene of this week’s siege.

Azari appeared by video link from Silverwater prison after being transported from the Supermax jail in Goulburn, ahead of a planned bail application.

During Friday’s hearing he was charged with three fresh counts – two of knowingly making funds available to a terrorist organisation and one of attempting to make funds available to a terrorist organisation.

Apparently there is a Twitter campaign to post your public transit schedule so that muslims can ride with you in case of a never-happening backlash against the people who openly adhere to the ideology which causes all the terrorism in the world. I believe, not fully understanding how Twitter works, that it involves something that looks like #illridewithyou 

I wonder if these people understand that it is in more than one way, a near equivalent to #illstrapmyselftothefrontofanazitankasahumanshield

Perhaps people should try trending #stopterrorism or #assimilateormove

But these would be too rational for our culturally marxist times where the optics are currency and the truth is illegal.

By the way, there is a rumor floating around that Lindt, the company that owns that cafe, refused to do halal certification. If this is true, I think I know what to get people for Christmas.

Police Spokesman:

At 1.30pm, during rolling coverage, 2GB producer Laura Parr tweeted: “Ray Hadley says he could hear gunman giving instructions to young hostage off air. Told to call him back in 10 minutes.’’

By 1.38pm NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione confirmed the person who rang Hadley was a hostage.

It’s understood Hadley has passed details regarding the call directly to investigators.

“To clarify, Ray Hadley was contacted by the hostage, the call was taken off air and then confirmed by the Police Commissioner,” the station tweeted.

About 50 people remain inside the Lindt cafe as the siege enters its fifth hour.

Lindt stores around Australia, including the franchises in Southbank and Collins St have closed, with a message posted for customers.

“Due to emergency situations, our business in not operated today, until further notice.’’

UPDATE IV.

Sydney man Craig Stoker inadvertently confronted the gunman immediately prior to the siege:

“He was wearing a black T-shirt with white writing on it and a headband and carrying a blue bag.

“The bag bumped into me and there was something hard in it.

“I said ‘watch where you are f***ing going’.

“He turned round and said ‘do you want me to shoot you too?’ I looked into his eyes and they were crazy,” said Mr Stoker, a father of four from Eastlakes. “I was pretty freaked out.”

The bearded man was with two others who were similarly dressed.

It is not known if the other men are also inside the Lindt Café.
