  1. While Robinson is absolutely right in all that he says, it isn’t enough to just note the “Streisand effect“—as in particularly how Sunderland police actions only increased the conspicuousness of their oppressive behavior.

    Of great importance would have been him mentioning how ongoing political curtailment of Internet rights is a key government strategy towards stifling citizen journalism and independent reporting.

    Robinson’s ultimate success, along with that for all of us, hinges upon spotlighting the need for an open Internet and, equally vital, drawing attention to those who seek to deprive the public of these tools. Carry on.

  2. I have always admired the Brits, in WWII they fought alone for so long with their top leadership knowing that their fight for freedom was going to mean they had to give up their Empire. Now they have descended into a police state where the ordinary people have no rights.
