Christmas Concert Gone Awry…

A second grade class in Indiana is having a tolerant Christmas, inclusive to all. Interestingly enough, they were to sing “Allah is God” when it came to the Islamic portion of the concert, while “I’m not sure if there was a boy or not” was used to reference the questionability of the existence of Christ.

A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted second graders to sing a song declaring, “Allah is God.” The phrase was removed just before the performance after a national conservative group launched a protest.

The principal of Lantern Road Elementary School in Fishers, IN, said they were trying to teach inclusiveness through their holiday production. It included references to Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. However, no other deity, other than Allah, was referenced in the show.

“It went off…without a hitch,” Danielle Thompson told the Indianapolis Star. “Several families thought it was a nice program.”

But others did not – especially David Hogan. His daughter came home with a copy of the lyrics just days before the production. Hogan, a Christian, told the American Family Association, a conservative advocacy group, that he was deeply concerned to learn that his daughter had been singing, “Allah is God.”

Here’s what the children were assigned to sing:

“Allah is God, we recall at dawn,
Praying ‘til night during Ramadan
At this joyful time we pray happiness for you,
Allah be with you all your life through.”

But when it came time to perform the “Christian” part of Christmas, children were assigned to say:

“I didn’t know there was a little boy at the manger. What child is this?
I’m not sure if there was a little boy or not.
Then why did you paint one on your nativity window?
I just thought if there was a little boy, I’d like to know exactly what he (sic) say.

Micah Clark, executive director of the Indiana AFA, launched an Internet protest once he heard about the allegations. “What surprised me here is that we’ve had a secular scrubbing of Christmas for so long and the school apparently didn’t see the problem with kids singing to Allah,” he told FOX News Radio. “You won’t even mention Jesus and you’re going to force my child to sing about Allah?

In email correspondence the school initially defended the reference as a way to be inclusive of all religions. However, once complaints starting rolling in, school leaders decided to eliminate the Allah reference.

That drew the ire of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. “It’s unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings,” Shariq Siddiqui told the Indianapolis Star. “Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions.”

But Clark said having children bow and pray is problematic for non-Muslim families. “(This show) affirmed Islam and negated Christianity. I wouldn’t have had a problem if it had been equal to all faiths.”

At least one Christian family approved of the Allah reference. “I’m a Christian and I was in no way offended by the program at Lantern Road,” said Judy Grasso to The Star.

Ontario PC Party: PC Stands for Politically Correct?

Conservative Chris Reid sent out a call for help today, when a moderator of the Ontario Progressive Conservative facebook group decided to publicly tell him that he needed to change his profile picture or he would be banned from the group.

Yes, for some reason Ryan Rantz has decided that he needs to police the profile pictures of the 740 members of the facebook group, less someone find something “offensive.”

To quote Chris Reid’s call for help:

Alright this is getting ridiculous. I just received a public reply from Ryan Rantz, the moderator of the Ontario PC and CPC supporter facebook group pages, demanding I change my profile picture within 1 day, or I will be banned from the groups.

“ok chris i’m going to be as polite as possible but your profile picture has to go if you want to continue participating in the conservative facebook groups and think common sence should indicate my reasons . its simply not approiate and some users may find it threatening or offensive . i’m giving you 1 warning and 1 day to replace it with something else .” http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2204951796&topic=17641

I’m asking everyone if they could support me in avoiding being banned by replacing your picture for a day with a gun, and posting on the Ontario PC Party facebook group page how ridiculous this is to try to censor people’s profile pictures, especially when a gun is a constitutional right and a completely lawful object.

No doubt you will all find this quite incredibly absurd.chrisreidprofilepic

For some reason Ryan Rantz thinks that common “sence” alone should indicate his reasons for requiring Chris Reid change his profile picture. Common sense? Is it guns you have a problem with Ryan, or is it gays? Or is it gays with guns?

It should be kept in mind that Chris Reid was actually a candidate for the Conservative Party for the 2008 federal elections. He resigned his candidacy because of comments made on his blog about the castrated effeminate state of Canadian culture, and how a certain brutal and infamous crime on a Grey Hound bus could have been averted if Canadians were allowed to carry hand-guns.

The quote below Mr. Reid’s profile picture is an important one. It is a quote from the Canadian Bill of Rights, created by Conservative Prime Minister John Deifenbaker in 1960. Since then, Trudeau’s Liberal party has come up with a watered down version that has been the subject of some turmoil, as it enshrines no property rights, and has empowered the Human Rights Commissions that we all know and love to hate.

So what right does Ryan Rantz have to tell Chris Reid he needs to change his profile picture, in order to remain a member of a Facebook group for a political party he was once a candidate for? Unfortunately, every right. But that doesn’t make it just.

Scientific dissent over man-made global warming

UN Blowback: More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims

Study: Half of warming due to Sun! –Sea Levels Fail to Rise? – Warming Fears in ‘Dustbin of History’

Link to Full Printable PDF Report POZNAN, Poland – The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The U.S. Senate report is the latest evidence of the growing groundswell of scientific opposition rising to challenge the UN and Gore. Scientific meetings are now being dominated by a growing number of skeptical scientists. The prestigious International Geological Congress, dubbed the geologists’ equivalent of the Olympic Games, was held in Norway in August 2008 and prominently featured the voices and views of scientists skeptical of man-made global warming fears. A hint of what the upcoming report contains:

“I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” – Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

“Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical.” – Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology and formerly of NASA who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.”

The Ultimate Feminization

If anybody out there hasn’t read Mark Steyn‘s book America Alone, go do so now. For those of you who have, or anybody else worried about the ability of the Canadian male to procreate, be afraid. Be very, very afraid. While these findings are outside of Montreal, Quebec, don’t think that it’s an isolated incident. Canada, the U.S.A., Europe, this sort of thing could happen to any advanced nation, and probably already has.

Trouble in Copenhagen

Copenhagen has become a search zone. The police are out in droves to search anyone they suspect might have a weapon, city-wide. Why? It might have something to do with the rash of shootings. Or it might have to do with the recent incident where about 100 “immigrant youths” took to the streets and within about 5 minutes started smashing cars and businesses, causing the mayor to call on the government for help. What was the government’s answer? Fifty extra police officers… Good luck.

Who can blame the lady mayor Ritt Bjerregaard for asking for a little bit of help though? I mean, if my city was hoping to host some international events I’d probably want to do something about the Islamic extremist group threatening to poison the city’s water supply too.

I hope those extra 50 police had some good training.
