Aaron Weiss speaks to the Dutchess County legislature on the ‘Safe Act’ gun control bill
It is fairly rare that an email gets me out of bed to work on a video right away. It means, well, getting out of bed, firing up machines and timing, subtitling and editing a video. But when I saw this three minute speech to a county legislature I simply had to do it. There may be another one equally good but that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Last week, Missouri Democrats introduced a bill that would ban semi-automatic rifles and give law-abiding gun owners 90 days to turn in their firearms to law enforcement or become felons. This week, a GOP state representative has turned the tables to make a point.
Rep. Mike Leara (R-St. Louis) introduced legislation Monday that would make “any member of the general assembly who proposes legislation that further restricts an individual’s right to bear arms” guilty of a class D felony.
The entire bill, HB 633, can be read on the Missouri House of Representatives website.

‘I Just Put Three Rounds in His A**’: Dramatic 911 Call Captures Oklahoma Man Shooting Home Intruder After Police Couldn’t Arrive Fast Enough

A dramatic 911 call recorded a Oklahoma man’s confrontation with an intruder who broke into his Ponca City home early Thursday morning. The homeowner ended up shooting the intruder several times when police didn’t arrive in time.
The roughly five minute 911 call begins frantically enough: “You better get these (expletive) here or they will die,” the man told a 911 dispatcher.
The homeowner stayed on the line with 911 as he waited for the police to arrive. However, the police didn’t arrive before the intruder found his way into the house.
“They’re beating on my front door right now,” he said.
“Okay, we’ve got them on the way,” the dispatcher replied.
“They better hurry up, because I will blow these (expletive) away.”
A short time later, the home intruder managed to gain entry into the home. It was at this point that the homeowner fired several shots at the suspect.
“I just put three rounds in his ass,” he informed the dispatcher.
Elderly man kills intruder in Oak Cliff home

An elderly man shot and killed a would-be burglar inside his Oak Cliff home.
Police say the homeowner saw Deyfon Pipkins, 33, trying to climb into the window and fired his weapon at least once at the intruder.
The homeowner is legally protected by the Castle Doctrine, which allows a person to defend his or her home against an intruder.
“It means they don’t actually have to retreat once someone comes in their home,” Sergeant Calvin Johnson, Dallas Police Department, said. “You have the option of using deadly force if you believe your life is in danger.”

CARO (CBS Detroit) A 9-year-old boy’s birthday cupcakes sparked a school controversy that just keeps growing, with scores of people lining up against a school principal who found the cupcake’s topping “inappropriate.”
The boy was chided, and so were his parents, for cupcakes featuring little green Army men on the top.
Schall Elementary School principal Susan Wright called the parents at home and said the cupcakes were insensitive in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting. School staff pulled off the Army men before they were served.

An American town is set to pass a law requiring every household to keep a gun.
The city council of Nelson, Georgia unanimously approved the proposal at a meeting this week.
While lawmakers in Washington may soon restrict owning a firearm, this town would make it a crime not to.

Here is an interesting article and video on gun control from the Blaze
It is getting harder and harder to tell the difference between paranoid nuttery and calm rational analysis by experts today. Not by the speaker but by the content. More and more people from solid backgrounds and what could be said to be the most rational and classically conservative of thinkers are beginning to say things that in the 1980s would have been grounds for forced psychiatric observation. Could Obama and his administration really be attempting to undermine the US constitution and individual liberties? Just because he said that the constitution was an outdated document and promised to fundamentally change America? I mean those were juts hollow campaign slogans like New World Order and so on, right? I mean that is what STRATFOR said.
