Since Kenasaw Georgia passed their law saying you must own a gun there have been no murders and very few robberies.
I love the way the lefty CNN presenter is framing the story as if it’s insane. They have a simliar law in Switzerland. I lived in the US for some of the nineties, and as soon as I was able to, I learned how to use/store firearms properly, and bought them as soon as I could. I feel less safe now living in London without firearms than I did in the US with them back then.
Certainly I have the best gun i can afford (i chewed a pop-tart into a triangle,) but the law smells unconstitutional. A right is something we can do if we want: I don’t have to enlist in a militia, run a newspaper, join a church, vote or refuse to allow my car to be searched; i have a right to be silent, solitary, hell-bound and trampled by authorities if that’s what i want. I should also be free to be unarmed.
Anyhow i keep and bear a big stick with nails innit. Bill o’Rights just says “arms.”
Storm Saxon’s Gall Bladder the people who wrote the Constitution passed a law in the late 1780s requiring all men and boys over 16 to own a musket, five charges of powder and balls, and a bayonet or tomahawk.
However they didn’t put a penalty on the law so you don’t face any punishment if you break it.
