Reader’s Links January 25, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

Item 2 is of major importance and justifies a LOT of what is going on around the Western world right now: Links 3, January 24, 2021

1. Montreal deploys mounted thugs to catch Jews headed to Synagogue

2. ‘Catastrophically wrong’: German court declares regional lockdown UNCONSTITUTIONAL in ‘politically explosive’ decision

A German district court has declared a strict lockdown imposed by the government of the central state of Thuringia last spring unconstitutional, as it acquitted a person accused of violating it.

A trivial case about a man violating strict German lockdown rules by celebrating a birthday with his friends has ended up in a decision the German media described as “politically explosive.” A district court in the city of Weimar did not just acquit the defendant but also stated that the authorities themselves breached Germany’s basic law.

Thuringia’s spring lockdown was a “catastrophically wrong political decision with dramatic consequences for almost all areas of people’s lives,” the court said, justifying its decision. It particularly condemned a restriction limiting private gatherings to the members of one household and one person outside of it.

It was this regulation that a local man violated by hosting a party attended by his seven friends. Yet, the judge said that the regional government itself violated the “inviolably guaranteed human dignity” secured by Article 1 of the German basic law in the first place by imposing such restrictions.

Thank you all who sent in materials for this post, and all the important materials in the Reader’s Links today. There are a LOT more riot/protest videos to post this evening. Seems some Europeans have a taste for freedom after all.

Protests in the Netherlands against liberty destroying Wuhan Flu measures move to the next stage

This post will be updated as items are viewed and added. Thank you MissPiggy and C. and M. for sending in such amazing material. Whatever one may think of these events, the question we all should ask ourselves is, how far can we allow governments to push us before we fight back?

2. Another video of riots in Amsterdam and Eindhoven:

PS Eindhoven is somehwat notorious for its soccer hooligans.who call themselves “the craziest”. I suspect the rioters are mostly from this demographic.

Thank you M., Wrath of Khan, Johnny U., ET., EB., Michelle, Maplewood, Richard, Tama, Sassy,

There have been massive protests in Denmark and Spain against whatever exactly it is that is going on across the Western world which in effect, is the obliteration of the middle class, the entrenching of civil servants as safe and superior as a class, the total removal of basic rights, even ones we were not aware of, like the right to refuse experimental medical treatments, or refuse treatments in general that the state wants us to have, the right to a public trial before incarceration, and the refusal by the state to let us have safe treatments for things because the state deems them to be prohibited for no medical reason. Which has never happened before, since homeopathy, Chinese traditional medicine and every other kind of hocus-pocus, like Chiropractic ‘treatment’ is legal and some if it is even paid for by the state.

(What happens to a dead guy if he suffocates?)

3. Amazing news for sufferers of Gout! You have the treatment for the Wuhan Flu right now in your medicine cabinet! This is indeed good news because even the head of the World Health Organization doesn’t think this new mRNA device they call a “vaccine” can prevent transmission of the disease. Which leads to the question, what actually does it do then? And if its not a vaccine by design or effect, what makes it a vaccine?

MONTREAL — A team of researchers from the Montreal Heart Institute believe they have found an effective weapon against COVID-19: colchicine, an oral tablet already known and used for other diseases.

For Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif, who led the study, this is a “major scientific discovery,” he said. Colchicine is the first “effective oral drug to treat out-of-hospital patients.”

“To be able to offer this, from Quebec, and for the planet, we are very happy,” said Tardif.

“The first drug that can help human beings….”. Good thing Trump never mentioned it or this useful product would be considered lethal and taken away as any kind of tool. As for “hoarding”, one of the excuses for not letting people use HCQ, if they can suddenly produce hundreds of thousands of ventilators, and hundreds of millions of doses of experimental and brand new mRNA devices, then scaling up HCQ or Colchicine would be about as hard as making a couple of phone calls. Here is Bell Media’s CTV video on HCQ. There is no date on this video, but it seems to be made shortly after President Trump mentioned its potential use. Interesting that this doctor/researcher mentions that HCQ was used and works against other forms of this virus. I did not know that till now.

4. Interesting example of selective enforcement that these Toronto police are not called “Violent extremists” under the new-old metric but the guy carrying a flag probably is one under the left-definition for resisting the attacking police. Post Millennial link.

There is currently some problem with the comments again. People are reporting that they leave a comment and they are not getting posted. I have no idea why this is happening now or before. Also they are not pending for moderation, which is usually the case.

It COULD be, that people have accidentally scraped some code from a copy paste which the firewall sees as not allowed. So if this happens to you, that you make a comment with a paste from somewhere and it doesn’t post, try pasting the content into a notepad or simple text editor, then scraping it back from there and onto the post. That should get rid of all the hidden code. This happens to me even for posts where I think its just text but all kinds of hidden code gets added which screw up the post.

On another subject, for those of you that think Bill Mahar is a reasonable guy with a balanced view, see him here explaining that patriotism is in fact NAZI.

Amazon Seeks to Postpone Alabama Unionization Vote

Tech company pushes for in-person union ballot in place of mail-in option allowed due to pandemic

Amazon.com Inc. is seeking to postpone a unionization vote at a warehouse in Alabama and is asking federal labor authorities to reconsider a decision to allow mail-in voting due to the pandemic.

The company Thursday filed an appeal to a decision by the National Labor Relations Board, which is allowing a mail-in process due to Covid-19 risks instead of the in-person elections that are typical in such unionization votes.

The ballots are set to be mailed to about 6,000 workers associated with its Bessemer, Ala. facility on Feb. 8. In its petition, Amazon said the board’s decision was flawed in part because it had not adequately defined an outbreak, among other objections.

Taiwan reports large incursion by China’s air force

Al-Jazeera:

Taipei says Chinese combat aircraft, including nuclear-capable H-6K bombers and four J-16 fighter jets, entered its airspace.

Nuclear-capable Chinese bombers and fighter jets entered the southwestern corner of Taiwan’s air defence identification zone on Saturday and Taiwan’s air force deployed missiles to “monitor” the large-scale incursion.

Taiwan’s air force warned away the Chinese aircraft, the defence ministry said.

Trudeau, his travel bans, his hypocrisy, and why Chinese can come to Canada

1. Trudeau tweet from yesterday

2. Rebel Media busts Trudeau for taking a tropical vacation during the holidays

Where, oh where was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the Christmastime/New Year’s period?

Guy Annable of the Ottawa-based Capital Voice has a hunch. Guy thinks the PM may have flown south to a Caribbean destination, perhaps the Turks and Caicos Islands. Guy bases his hypothesis on diligently tracking flights out of Ottawa during this period, including federal government-owned jets. As well, he notes that in early January, an arriving government jet from the Caribbean landing in Ottawa was met by a five car motorcade. And really, how many people receive that kind of reception?

For what it’s worth, we reached out to the Prime Minister’s Office with a very simple question: did Justin Trudeau leave the country during the holiday period? Alas, we’re still waiting for the PMO to respond.

3. Schumer: Impeachment trial of former President Trump will begin Feb. 8

(This looks much like the first impeachment miniseries the Democrats did, but in summer reruns.)

The House of Representatives rushed through the impeachment on 14 January, voting without evidence, testimony, argument, or deliberation to impeach Trump on the single count of incitement to insurrection.

As quoted by CBS News, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said at the time, without evidence:  “We know that the president of the United State incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion, against our common country.”  No evidence has since been introduced of insurrection or rebellion, armed or otherwise.  (See the impeachment resolution here.)

Impeachment is a political act, however, rather than an act constrained by the tenets of law and evidence.  The law may indicate that the miscreants who entered the U.S. Capitol were guilty of the crimes they’re actually being charged with by Justice Department prosecutors, mostly some version of violent or unlawful entry, disorderly conduct, and/or interfering with government business.

4. Biden Rescinds Trump Order Banning Chinese Communist Involvement In US Power Grid

(I cannot possibly imagine what could go wrong with letting the CHICOMS develop and access the US power grid and I’m absolutely positive none of you can either)

The executive order, which executes key tenets of President Biden’s climate change agenda, was released on the former Veep’s first day in office.

Section 7 of the massive order, which includes the revocation of the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline, also revokes several climate and energy-focused executive orders penned by the Trump administration.

Subpoint C notes that “Executive Order 13920 of May 1, 2020 (Securing the United States Bulk-Power System), is hereby suspended for 90 days.”

The Trump-era order sought to ban, replace, and set new criteria on bulk-power system (BPS) electric equipment coming from a foreign country or national that poses a national security threat.

“Foreign adversaries are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in the United States bulk-power system, which provides the electricity that supports our national defense, vital emergency services, critical infrastructure, economy, and way of life. The bulk-power system is a target of those seeking to commit malicious acts against the United States and its people, including malicious cyber activities, because a successful attack on our bulk-power system would present significant risks to our economy, human health and safety, and would render the United States less capable of acting in defense of itself and its allies,” the introduction to the executive order read.

5. Sweden: Child Rapes Drove Overall Rape Increase in 2020

Total reported rapes in Sweden increased last year, and the change was driven by a surge in the number of sex attacks against children, according to National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå) statistics.

According to Brå, the number of reported rapes in which women were victims remained largely the same as in 2019, but the number of child rapes in which the victim was under 18 increased by 16 per cent.

A total of 3,950 rapes against children were reported in 2020, with investigator Linn Brandelius telling Swedish broadcaster SVT: “When rape against children increases, there are usually large cases that are behind the change, where it may be the same victim and the same perpetrator, but crime has been going on for a long time.”

However, Brandelius admitted that “this year we have not uncovered a big case, so we do not know what the increase is due to.”

(Wait till you see what the Swedish government has been doing to its own people with immigration stats! That story to come)

As Biden Became President, Medical Journal Quietly Retracted Study That Claimed Hydroxychloroquine Is Ineffective

***The National File used a reasonably new tweet, January 18th, as the basis of this, but the tweet leads to an article from The Guardian which is over 7 months old! So while the story is true, and the important aspects of it, that HCQ was falsely demonized, the idea that its being vindicated with Biden’s assumption to the throne is misrepresented here.***

How many did the Democrat Party and the enemy propaganda media kill to get President Trump out of their way.

From The National File:

Their retraction-admission validates what President Trump stated in the very beginning of the pandemic January 21, 2021

A leading medical journal has issued a retraction of their endorsement for a study that concluded the anti-viral drug hydroxychloroquine was ineffective against the COVID-19 virus. This retraction appears to validate the claims then-President Trump made about the medication being a frontline drug in the battle in the pandemic.
The Lancet, a respected online medical journal, issued an apology to its readers in an edition last year after the retraction. “We deeply apologize to you, the editors, and the journal readership for any embarrassment or inconvenience that this may have caused,” the publishers of The Lancet said.

Compared to the significantly more expensive medications being used to treat the virus, hydroxychloroquine – a drug widely used to treat malaria – is relatively inexpensive and universally available. Hydroxychloroquine ranges in price from $0.30 to $6.63 per dose depending on location.
