BREAKING; Tim Burton of IAW radio and candidate for Liberty GB, send to Wandsworth Prison for 12 weeks

This just happened.

Tim Burton, a very well educated man on Islam and its effects on the West, has just been sentenced to 12 weeks at Wandsworth Prison in the UK and led straight from court to jail.

This officially makes disparaging Islam to a Muslim as a serious criminal offence in the UK.

Tim and I would share a 2 hour monthly radio spot with Key Fritzy on the last Tuesday of every month at this Blogtalk radio program.

More info as available. Also will update with specifics of the charge.

As stated here before, the communications between Mr. Burton and the man who charged him showed questionable judgement, but in no way shape or form constituted what a liberal democracy could call a crime. Certainly not one deserving of prison.

Here is a link to one of the shows Tim, Kel & I did some time ago. If you dig around in the link above, you can find others.

  1. the independent – Right-wing radio host Tim Burton jailed for ‘vile Islamophobic’ trolling of anti-racism campaigner

‘It was pre-meditated, it was determined, it was deeply unpleasant, and it was part of a campaign by you and your associates to tar all Muslims as Islamists’

A right-wing radio host who trolled an anti-hate crime campaigner with “Islamophobic” tweets and emails has been jailed for 12 weeks.

Timothy Burton, 64, branded Islam a “backwards, misogynistic, seventh-century” ideology in a series of emails to Tell Mama founder Fiyaz Mughal OBE between 4 April and 26 April 2016.

Burton also sent Mr Mughal links to far-right blogs containing “vile slurs” against Muslims including a petition called “renounce, reform, or get the hell out of my country”.

The radio presenter for the anti-immigration group Liberty GB was convicted of one count of religiously aggravated harassment in March following a week-long trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Burton, who says he has resigned from the group following his conviction, had denied the charge and claimed he was exercising his right to free speech.

He said he insulted Mr Mughal after reading articles suggesting Tell Mama had exaggerated figures about anti-Muslim incidents.

Mr Mughal said in a statement: “The defendant’s actions have led to endless nights of anxiety and fear and a sense of being targeted to my core.”

Judge Alex Gordon said Burton had been on a campaign to tar all Muslims as violent extremists as he jailed him for 12 weeks at Inner London Crown Court on Friday.

He said: “The defendant was found guilty by jury following a trial in March of religiously aggravated harassment.

“He sent a series of grossly offensive emails to Tell Mama with the obvious intention that they would be, as they were, received by Mr Mughal.

“Not only were these emails offensive, they provided links to deeply offensive material involving a petition called ‘renounce, reform, of get the hell out of my country’.

“He also linked to articles with vile slurs to Mr Mughal.

“He was broadcasting the harassment to the world.”

The judge said the emails “continued after the defendant was asked to stop sending them, and after it was threatened that he would be reported to the police”.

He continued: “It was obvious that these emails were designed, carefully designed to harass Mr Mughal by causing him distress.

“Your extreme antipathy towards Muslims is what led you to harass Mr Mughal.

“You are seemingly incapable of distinguishing between Muslims and violent Islamists. Your offending behaviour was obviously motivated by a religious hostility and aggravated the harassment.

“You were at the time, [though you have] apparently now resigned, a member of a group Liberty GB which promotes antipathy based on religious adherence.

“It was pre-meditated, it was determined, it was deeply unpleasant, and it was part of a campaign by you and your associates to tar all Muslims as Islamists.”

Judge Gordon accepted that Burton had “expressed some limited remorse”.

Burton was previously cleared of racially aggravated harassment in 2014 after calling Mr Mughal a “mendacious grievance-mongering taqqiya artist” and a “Muslim scumbag” on Twitter.

He told him Liberty GB members “raised a glass in your honour, and toasted you with a bacon sandwich” in an email referencing the second anniversary of his acquittal on 26 April 2016.

Jurors were told the obscure theological term “taqqiya” provides persecuted Shia Muslims with an option to deny their faith “if their life is at stake”.

Mr Mughal said far-right extremists use the term to “blacken all Muslims”.

He told the trial: “Within far-right circles they say don’t trust Muslims because ‘taqqiya’ means they will lie – one to spread Islam, two to take over the state by insidious means, and three to promote Sharia.”

Judge Gordon jailed Burton for 12 weeks and imposed a restraining order barring him from contacting Fiyaz Mughal, Faith Matters, Tell Mama, or any employee of those groups.

He added: “A breach of that order is quite rightly taken by the courts as an extremely important matter and may well result in a custodial sentence.”

    • He shouldn’t have contacted nor maintained a conversation with these people such as Tell Mama. It’s what they want, thus don’t fall into the trap.
One must be very careful today when talking about Islam to avoid legal problems. Mr. Burton needs instruction in this subject matter.
He’s 61-years old. Very hard to suddenly end up in a major penitentiary surrounded by your worst enemy. I hope someone keeps an eye on him for his safety.

    • I think he was unwise but this case provided a perfect opportunity for the ‘victim psyche’ of Islam to flex its muscles and put the infidel in his place.
He has been made an example of in much the same way as others have in the past.

Anyone who believes what muslims say about Islam is foolish in the extreme. The air is thick with taqiyya and anyone who points this out is now a ‘far right extremist’. Taqiyya is an integral part of Islamic Jihad.

  2. This is totally inane, outrageous, and a total slap to the brilliant history of human rights in the United Kingdom!!! Holy COW!!!! What has happened to you???? The man said nothing BUT the truth. Since when is speaking the truth a crime????

    • Since when is speaking the truth a crime????

Great question, Jersey Girl. An answer?

… Ever since “speaking the truth” became an indefensible and unutterably offensive challenge to the supremely fragile and untenable precepts of what passes for modern, and all-too-irrational, Leftist (supposed) “philosophy”.

As (what should have been, Classical) Liberal Western civilization that so energetically diverges from its empirical and once-scientific Greco-Roman heritage—it becomes even further divorced from priceless rationalist roots.

Therefore, it only becomes all the more expectable that judicial outcomes of such ill-founded legal systems will continue to describe increasingly less explicable or coherent story-lines for all that surrounds us.

I hope that this helps. At the risk of unintended condescension, you are amidst a storm of chaotic insanity that only the harshest military actions can counteract. I sincerely realize how repulsive or unattractive this notion may be to you. All the same, such military oppression only serves to predict the very worst sort of corrective and BADLY NEEDED measures that have had any hopes of success.

Again, yes condescendingly, it’s just that bad.

Please do not hesitate with regard to asking others per confirming my own observations.

      Warmest regards,

      • Britain goes through periodic bouts of dictatorship sometimes from the Crown and sometimes from the Commons. So far they have always ended up edging closer and closer to freedom, the question now is where will they end up after this bout of dictatorship?

        • The difference between this iteration of the cycle and previous ones is that Britain is being inundated with people from societies having no historical ties to, or familiarity with democracy, freedom and individual rights. The very natuure of the population is being changed through mass immigration. This difference is significant and may well blight any chance of a future societal rebound toward freedom.

  3. A possible death sentence for a bunch of words? What kind of justice systems that?

  5. Well, better get him some money & whatever he needs so he can buy some protection & make it out alive. This judge is
cruel knowing Tim has had heart problems. Judge specifically
mentioned Liberty GB too .. Looks like Tim was symbolic
of the ‘extreme right wing’ . And was sentenced accordingly.
This is horrible. Britain is down the tubes. no comin’ back.

    • Britain is down the tubes. no comin’ back.

Britain can be saved but probably not for a long time.

  6. It was like back it the deep communist era during the sentencing. As if other opinions were not allowed and only the ‘approved’ ones were… Tim dared to share a petition link!!!
Tim’s case sets a dangerous precedent and needs to be appealed otherwise they might as well lock us all up and let Mughals run the place…
