Another truly excellent video from Counter-spell: Counter-revolutionary ethics

This site has repeatedly stated that allegiance to people in uniform is only prudent when they are acting on the principles of a republic. In simpler terms, fealty to the police is a good idea when the police are enforcers of the law and protectors of your safety and your property.

When the police are agents of the state doing the exact opposite of these things, then they are state thugs and should be feared and treated as the enemy of the people. Because they are.

The same exact reasoning needs to be applied to all the institutions of state. When they serve the purpose for which they were created, then they are venerable. But when they are captured and serve the purpose of the enemy of Western Civilization, individualism and individual rights, and the right to property, then they must be disobeyed. They are no longer the institutions for which we were all willing to make small sacrifices for.

Counter-spell tends to overconfidence perhaps. Much like Stephen Coughlin’s thinking, which runs along similar lines. This site likely does as well, and for that I apologize. But this video should be stopped and thought about whenever you hear a sentence that doesn’t click right away. Stop it, think about it, and continue.

  1. You have described the path that leads to true patriotism.

    Thinking about yesterday’s Remembrance Day or Veterans Day (11 November): One can see those who superficially wave the flag, wear the flag colors/designs and push the idea that they are great supporters of the “idea” of being patriotic, yet have little understanding about the reasons why military veterans deserve to be honored (“When they serve the purpose for which they were created, then they are venerable.”)

      I have an additional layer to add on Remembrance day which will likely annoy a lot of people. But I agree with your analysis 100%.

      We are currently at war.
      Remembering the dead and victims of the war is a luxury for the winner.
      When you are at war, all efforts should be directed at winning it and defeating the enemy.
      It used to drive me crazy when I saw people pile teddy bears and other plush toys and symbols of grief on a spot where a Muslim had done a mass casualty attack against infidel civilians. It was a complete abdication of reality.
      First, you identify the enemy.
      Then you fight them to win.
      Then you create new rituals of grief that actually remind the descendants of the victims who the enemy was, and why you could them.

      I have complaints about Stephen Harper. But one thing he got right was creating a memorial to all who died as victims of communism. Trudeau managed to move the site to somewhere no one ever notices, and did a few other things that are really quite astonishing concerning negation of the meaning of the site and insulting those who contributed to it.

      Perhaps I will write that up today.

      But at least that memorial detailed who the enemy was.

        Well, sorta…

        There’s nothing like crouching in a bomb shelter and hearing explosions over your head. Holding a gas mask, having an asthma/panic attack. Elderly people have heart attacks, strokes, a neighbor breaks a leg running to the safe-room.

        Your nephew-daughter-boyfriend-cousin has his/her legs blown off. You have to smile when they show how well they’re walking with the new prosthesis.

        You notice the guy across from you on the bus has his face covered by a mask. Disfigured. Maybe between surgeries. You get used to seeing that. It’s what intifada comes to mean.

        When they’re moving bodies to permanent graves, there are caravans of coffins. In certain cultures mourning customs are intense: you’ll hear high-pitched wailing that’ll haunt you forever.

  2. All good, but not friendly to the rank-and-file.

    Drop the AI delivery and writing. Let a person speak in plain language in a way that does not require Joe to hold his dictionary so close. Break up the vid so it’s not so dense. Give examples such as: You want to stop illegal migrant hordes at the border? Shoot a couple. Watch them stop. You want to stop Red Chinese drug flooding in America? Hang the importers and dealers from the lamp posts for all to see. There’s your “due process” and the cauterization of the lawfare that undermines truly civil society.

    Sure, go Medieval but not necessarily in the tone of your writing. Get with it. Communicate. Better to be understood than to sound smart.
