Thanks to our reader erisian23 we now know that “flower Swallow” means a child in North Korea who flits from opportunity to eat, one to the next like a bird.

Kotjebi or kotchebi (???) is a Korean term denoting North Korean homeless children. The term literally means “fluttering swallows”, given because of the kotjebi’s constant search for food and shelter.[1] The kotjebi are not officially recognized in North Korea, with any mention of the term being prohibited in state publications and documents

    I have been wondering what it is like in NK.

    I noticed SK President proposed a reunification under their terms. This is a first.

    If he secedes it should be considered the largest humanitarian effort in decades.
    Economically it would be very bad for SK.

  2. Many years ago the sick demented dictator of N Korea made a statement that “he could care less if millions of his peasants starve to death as long as he can feed his military”.

  3. Has anyone ever seen the official YouTube channel of the North Korean dictatorship? I don’t know if it’s called SongunBlog or something like that, but it’s quite something rich to explore… In addition to videos demonizing the West, it’s got pieces depicting how wonderful life is in that workers’ “paradise”; and, among those of the latter kind, I once watched one featuring an aquatic park in Pyongyang which would be nowhere to be seen if you tried to find it on GoogleMaps. One more funny thing about it was the children shown on it, having fun on water sleds and porking out on ice cream.

    Imams like that are making the fatal mistake of believing that the West will continue on it’s suicidal, goody two-shoes path forever. They don’t understand how quickly we can change. They think that we are so bound by our Christian/liberal/democratic/law abiding beliefs, that we will never revert to savagery. Imams like that are profoundly ignorant men, who don’t know about stuff like the history if WWII, the American Civil War, or much of anything else. They don’t know how unspeakably brutal a democracy can become the minute the voters become afraid for their families and for their own lives, and the politicians begin to sense that hawkish statements are going to get votes. Asymetrical warfare is all very fine and dandy, but it stops working when the strong half throws away the rule-book. Our leaders need to frighten the Ummah into throwing guys like that out of their Mosques before things get out of control and the backlash momentum becomes unstoppable. How about a nice Quran-inspired, Imam-approved, ten-year truce? I know, I know…but it would be better than this.

    A few years ago i didn’t know my Dutch history well enough: but after i started casually studying my own history and the history of western Europe a trend started to develop, that for the last thousand years the local farming/burger population has been in a major revolt almost every decade including into the 20th century.

    There are peasant wars and revolts throughout the Middle Ages when most people assume the nobility where in complete control and it wasn’t uncommon for a mob of angry people to take up pitchforks and hunt down a noblemen who was to loose with woman.

    Those people where poor and desperate but it does show that you don’t just fuck with white people, that even the poor are more independent then the richest Muslim sultan.

    There is also the matter of a democracy: it runs on popular sentiment, if this sentiment is peace and prosperity or fear and anger, a democracy does everything bigger and better.

    A democracy is the worst kind of ”real” enemy you can have. A dictator will back down really easy because he is only interested in power, a demoracy is the will of the people and controlled by the people and it does not run out until all fear, anger and ideals have been put down, the democracy is a system of ideals that offers freedom and prosperity and when someone treatens these ideals it is very likely the people will not stop until they have there freedom back.

    What the Muslims don’t understand that if we are forced, pushed, put in a tight spot we won’t just defeat you, we: the democratic people will enact our fears in such a ruthless and efficient way that the history of the Middle East will STOP! on the day that we are finished.

    We should also think about expanding our population, technical universities and industrial base.
