Police in France responded to widespread rioting throughout the country by detaining a soccer coach and his son for allegedly uttering “racist” and “Islamophobic” remarks a year ago.
Paris Saint Germain coach Christophe Galtier was held for questioning along with his son as part of a probe into alleged discrimination, the Nice prosecutor told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Friday, June 30. The move comes after an investigation launched in April, following claims he made racist and Islamophobic remarks about players when he coached Nice in the 2021/22 season.
The prosecutor said they would provide more information on the arrests of Galtier and his son – a player’s agent – via a statement later on Friday. Galtier is set to be fired by the Qatari owners of PSG after a largely underwhelming season in which PSG suffered 10 defeats in 2023, exiting the Champions League, the team’s main objective, in the last 16.
The allegations first surfaced in the French media in April. The reports alleged that ex-Nice sporting director Julien Fournier had written an email at the end of the 2021/22 season in which he claimed Galtier had made discriminatory remarks at several members of the Nice squad.

The violent protests also spread to French-speaking areas in Switzerland and Belgium, according to The Telegraph.
Rioters in Belgium have torched cars and used fireworks as weapons against law enforcement officers who are trying to quell the violence, the Express reported.

In France, a storm is brewing (again), and French President Emmanuel Macron appears to have figured it all out – it’s social media and video games that are to blame for the ongoing riots in France!
This came following five nights of rioting initially triggered by the fatal police shooting of a Muslim teenager, Nahel M.
Macron’s comments are hardly original, yet they warrant scrutiny from a free speech perspective.
One cannot help but raise an eyebrow as President Macron pleads with social media giants to erase the “most sensitive” content pertaining to the rioting.
With a wave of his hand, he decrees, “platforms and networks are playing a major role in the events of recent days.”
His words, veiled under a guise of concern, echo a familiar tune that has been played on the world stage before.
“We’ve seen them; Snapchat, TikTok and several others, serve as places where violent gatherings have been organized, but there’s also a form of mimicry of the violence which for some young people leads them to lose touch with reality.
“You get the impression that for some of them they are experiencing on the street the video games that have intoxicated them,” he added.
It’s fascinating that social media platforms and video games are often the easiest targets when those in power look for a scapegoat.
It’s like a well-rehearsed performance: when there’s unrest, point fingers at technology.

The worst of the violence seems to have subsided, but the destruction has been considerable: As of yesterday 600 or more vehicles have been torched and nearly 500 buildings damaged, 74 of which are likewise set on fire, among them the Bibliothèque de l’Alcazar in Marseille. There have been at least 20 attacks on police barracks, and even one on the home of L’Hay-les-Roses mayor Vincent Jeanbrun. Rioters crashed a car onto his terrace and attacked his fleeing family with fireworks, putting his wife in hospital. There have been around 2,000 arrests, and as of yesterday perhaps 500 police injuries. Probably the intensity of the violence has been greater than in 2005, but there is hope at least that it will be of shorter duration, with less damage overall.
The right-thinking European press, in its deep originality, has blamed the unrest on racism and a “rhetoric of exclusion,” which we are asked to believe has “become completely normal in France”:

45000 police and security were deployed in France Sunday night as rioting seemed to abate in the sixth night. Local patriot militias also roamed the streets in Lyon and elsewhere. A 24-year-old fire fighter died. A right-wing TV host raised over €1 M for the officer involved in the shooting of 17-year-old Nahel M.
157 arrests were made Sunday night, down from 719 arrests Saturday night, 994 Friday night and 1311 Thursday night. 24-year-old firefighter Dorian Damelincourt died in Saint-Denis trying to fight a fire of several vehicles in an underground car park. A total of 352 fires were recorded: 297 vehicles were burned and 34 buildings set on fire. Three police officers were reported injured.
After five nights of riots, the Ministry of the Interior recorded about 5,000 vehicles burned, nearly 1,000 buildings damaged, 250 attacks on police stations, and more than 700 police officers injured. About 3,200 have been arrested since Tuesday during the riots.
The General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGNP) denied reports that the police officer involved in the fatal shooting of Nahel M. June 27 had threatened to “shoot him in the head” as claimed by Nahel’s accomplice Fouad and mainstream media intent on fueling the violence. Instead, the officers had instructed Nahel to turn off the engine and put his hands behind his head, Valeurs Actuelles reports.
The third occupant of the car has surrendered to the police after fleeing to Marseille and is now being questioned as a witness.

The Minister of Justice warned against “instrumentalization” of the donation – while shamefully charging his own officer who almost got run over by the young man with “voluntary killing”.
In St. Etienne, a 79-year-old Priest, Father Francis Palle, was attacked by two young men and robbed of his wallet and cell phone Thursday, and had to be hospitalized with bruises. The Diocese denied a connection to the riots or his priesthood, since he was not wearing his frock at the time of the attack.
Across France, citizens gathered outside town halls Monday at 1 pm to protest the riots and the attack on the family of the mayor of Paris suburb L’Haÿ-les-Roses.
In Lyon, patriots patrolled the streets chanting, “Blue, white, red: France belongs to the French!”
Police tried to dispel the militia march with tear gas.
Rioters were seen chanting, “One, two, three, long live Algeria!” at SWAT unit RAID in Lyon.

As chaos and disorder surge through the streets of France, Nationalist politician Marine Le Pen has issued a stirring national address, imploring her compatriots to reject the rising tide of anarchy and violence.
“For several days, a state of endemic disorder, violence, and destruction has been established in the country, the images and echoes of which are chillingly brutal,” Le Pen began her address. She painted a sobering picture of a nation in turmoil, referencing attacks on people and property, assaults on police officers and firefighters, the ransacking of town halls, school fires, and the looting of shops.
Le Pen held no punches in her criticisms of what she termed “politicized politicians or unions,” whom she accused of morally exonerating the criminal acts spiraling the country into chaos. In a pointed message, she stated that these actors “will carry an indelible responsibility before the nation and history,” even as they fall victim to the violence they have fostered.

As head of the first opposition force, I intend to stick to our line of conduct of not doing anything that could prevent or hinder the action of the legitimate authorities responsible for public order. I give my full support to all the security forces deployed to put an end to these riots,” she added.
“I call for the cessation of violence,” implored Le Pen, calling for spontaneous intervention by courageous and civic-minded parents or the legitimate force of law and justice if necessary. She argued that the immediate solution to the destructive rage engulfing the country is a return to republican order through sectoral curfews, and if the situation worsens, the declaration of a state of emergency.
In a final plea, Le Pen requested President Macron to convene a meeting with all parties represented in the National Assembly to discuss the grave situation and the initiatives needed to safeguard freedom and public security.

‘Intifada in heart of France’ comes from antisemitic areas
The roots of the ongoing riots in France are in areas where antisemitism, among other hatreds, are rampant, French-Israeli lawmaker Meyer Habib warned on Saturday…

Communist virus research is fine, not Jewish doctors helping autistic children.
In May 2023, the Biden administration restarted a National Institutes of Health grant to an organization that had been conducting bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology believed by many to be the source of the recent pandemic.
The Trump administration had originally halted the funding over concerns that it had contributed to experiments that were considered to represent ‘gain of function’ and had the potential to be weaponized by the Chinese military. To add insult to injury, taxpayers may have also paid twice for the grants.
But the Biden administration has restarted the bat virus grant with the EcoHealth Alliance despite concerns raised by prominent researchers and journalists.
The United States has spent tens of millions of dollars funding research in China so that even beyond the military and espionage elements, we are backing our own biggest rivals.
In June 2023, the Biden administration reversed another Trump research mandate, this time cutting off scientific cooperation with Israeli institutions of higher learning on territory that it deems should be turned over to the PLO, Islamic Jihad, Hamas and other ‘Palestinian’ groups.
The United States obviously isn’t obligated to conduct any kind of cooperative research with foreign countries, and yet choosing China over Israel is highly revealing of the real agenda.
The Biden administration has refused to ban funding for research in the People’s Republic of China, but has chosen to ban it, no matter how benevolent, in parts of the Jewish State. Democrat administrations are willing to fund dangerous viral research in China, but not explore ways to teach autistic children to cope with the challenges of their environment in Israel.
Gain of function research that creates deadly viruses in one of the world’s most ruthless nations was fine, but bonding hip implants to bones in one of our closest allies is beyond the pale.
Even the Department of Defense has funded research in Hong Kong which is under the control of Communist China. The CDC and NIH have funded research at Chinese universities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Najiing with no interest in the legitimacy of the Communist regime’s control over these territories or the legitimacy of the regime. But when it comes to Israel, Democrat administrations scruple over who has the right to the land that the university is on.

Police arrest Israeli who laid death threat on Netanyahu brother’s grave
A person suspected of placing a threat against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the grave of his brother, Yoni, was arrested on Saturday night, according to police and the Shin Bet.
The arrest was made as part of a joint investigation by the Cyber Unit of Lahav 433 and the Shin Bet. Congress Launches Probe Into Scandal-Plagued Biden Iran Envoy
The House Foreign Affairs Committee on Friday launched a formal investigation into U.S.-Iran Envoy Robert Malley following reports that the senior Biden administration official had his security clearance revoked for mishandling classified information.
“The Department’s failure to inform Congress of this matter demonstrates at best a lack of candor, and at worst represents deliberate and potentially unlawful misinformation,” Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas), the committee’s chairman, wrote in a letter to the State Department, a copy of which was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
McCaul and other Republican leaders suspect the Biden administration attempted to hide information about Malley’s alleged mishandling of classified information. Malley has been on an extended leave of absence from the State Department, but it remains unclear if this is due to his current inability to access classified information.
After news of his security clearance issue became public on Thursday, the State Department officially put Malley on unpaid leave.
The revelations come as the Biden administration engages in secret diplomacy with Iran. Syrian anti-aircraft battery hit after missile explodes over Israel
Israeli fighter jets struck an anti-aircraft battery in Syrian territory on Saturday night after a Syrian anti-aircraft missile exploded in Israeli airspace, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
The missile exploded over southern Israel, with shrapnel found in the Bedouin town of Rahat. The IDF said that there were no casualties, and no special instructions were issued following the incident. No sirens were activated. Residents of the south and center reported hearing the explosion.
“It fell right next to the children’s bedroom, we were very lucky,” a Rahat resident was quoted as saying by Kan News.
Simultaneously with the missile’s detonation shortly after midnight, Syrian media reported air defenses had responded to an Israeli aerial attack in the Homs area in the western part of the country.
The Israeli attack came from northeast of Beirut, and caused material damage, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported.
Rahat is some 257 miles from Homs and around 142 miles from the Syrian border. Reports indicated that the Syrian missile was a Russian-made S-200 long-range surface-to-air missile.
