Reader’s Links for July 4th, 2023

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • I was horrified at the blatancy but not surprised, it has been a short walk through the institution s, to paraphrase somebody. That ghastly woman is like a Soviet cariacature of the ruthless apparatchik. She’s not even a doctor. I definitely don’t think she is 40, she looks closer to my generation and I met plenty of people like her in the 1970s.

  9. Not everyone will remember when are so-called Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault, activist, trespassed on then Premier of Alberta, Ralph Klein’s property to put up some solar panels.

    Trespasser, activist, Guilbeault said: “We are offering Mr. Klein a gift of solar panels, a gift of the future. That’s what the energy of the future should be about. It will be about solar and wind energy”.

    So here we are in 2023, solar panels are piling up and there seems to be some back and forth as to what can be done with them. The giant wind mills are falling apart, catching on fire….. what to do about them, bury them?

    How many thousands of acres of beautiful trees have been cut down to make way for these “energy of the future” unfortunate ideas?

    In 2019, Justine Trudeau promised, while campaigning, his government would plant 2 billion trees by 2030. So far they have planted 1.5 % of what they pledged. The cost of their plan is 2.78 BILLION more than they predicted.

    Now after cutting down millions of trees, and destroying the habitat of critters, planting solar panels instead, the governments around the world are now telling us we need to cloud seed and practice Solar Radiation Management. Yes, these climate clowns have the audacity to tell the “little people”, we must now introduce reflective nanoparticles into the upper atmosphere to REFLECT sunlight before it reaches the surface of the Earth.

    This total madness needs to be stopped and Political Science, Activist, Steven Guilbeault should be fired.

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Tragedy struck in the city where the Declaration of Independence was signed. A crazed gunman went on a rampage Monday night and killed five adults and injured two children.

    Philadelphia police initially said four people lost their lives but they later reported that a fifth victim has been found.

    ABC News reports that of the five dead victims, at least four are male and three of them are between the ages of 20 and 59 years old.

    The two wounded children, ages 2 and 13, are in stable condition.

    Israeli special forces took out Iran-backed Islamic Jihad terrorist strongholds in Jenin in the heaviest counterinsurgency fighting in years. A 23-year-old terrorist rammed eight people in Tel Aviv before being neutralized by an armed citizen, proving “the importance of citizens carrying weapons,” said Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. “I call on the public to carry firearms.”

    The soldiers found observation posts, tunnel shafts and explosives, Arutz Sheva reported. Several terrorist operatives were arrested, including key operatives. A defense official said “the resistance of the armed men tonight was low – they ran away when we arrived.” There were no injuries among Israeli forces.

    As reported Sunday by The Gateway Pundit, Salt Lake City, Utah is one of multiple US cities that replaced traditional July 4th fireworks shows with drone light displays this year.

    But Brandon Fugal isn’t impressed.

    The Chairman at Colliers International and Owner of Skinwalker Ranch says although he’s a “huge fan” of drone displays, America needs to be strengthening national traditions, not diluting them.

    “Replacing our traditional fireworks with drone displays is an unfortunate departure from the time honored tradition started on July 4th, 1777,” Fugal explained in a Monday afternoon phone call, “To sanitize our celebrations is a sacrilege.”

    When they don’t get their way, their first instinct is to change the rules.

    We Need a Constitution That Means What It Says

    Some U.S. senators have famously kept a pocket Constitution handy to use as a prop at political rallies; a few may have even read it. But at this point in American history it no longer matters whether they, or anyone else, can read the words of the Constitution because the words no longer mean what they say.

    Take, for instance, the Supreme Court’s ruling last week that state legislatures do not have the sole discretion to determine how federal elections will be run in those states. Instead, state courts are given veto power over the decisions of the legislature.

    The mainstream media (and of course their Democratic Party allies) celebrated the court’s decision in Moore v. Harper that rejected the so-called “independent state legislature” theory. The New York Times called the theory “dangerous.” Vox said the ruling was a “big victory for democracy.” Those who supported the independent state legislature “theory” were called extreme, fringe, radical, and worse. In other words, they were Trump supporters.

    The only problem is that if the theory is extreme, then so is the U.S. Constitution, because no matter how much the 6-3 majority insists otherwise, it isn’t a theory at all. It is the plain language of the Constitution. Check it out for yourself.

    Article 1, Section 4 of the Constitution says specifically, “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.”

  16. Michigan TV Station Director, Staffers Fired After Asking for “Balance” in Coverage of Pride Celebrations

    Pride Month” is over and a day to be proud of, the Fourth of July, is upon us! But a news director, his assistant and two staffers from WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan will spend the holiday trying to figure out where to work next.

    Over the weekend, some were fired over distributing a memo sent out asking for coverage of pride parades to be covered “balanced” and to show “both sides.” The others were fired for leaking the memo. The assistant director that was fired, Amy Fox, was “ordered” to write the memo by the new director, Stanton Tang, who was also terminated.
