This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

    A controversial, defund-the-police Boston City Councilor crashed her car into a house, injuring herself and her 7-year-old son.

    Kendra Lara, 33, was driving with a “revoked license” in an unregistered car without insurance and an expired inspection sticker and her son, Zaire, was not in a booster seat at the time of the crash, according to a police report obtained by The Post.

  15. Independence Day 2023
    Our lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.

    For some reason, as July rolls in on us, I am reminded of an anniversary unrelated to our Declaration of Independence.

    People are crowding social media to post images of the U.S. flag and offer July as America’s real Pride Month. There’s something to that, though I’d rather think of it as Liberty Month. The very word “Pride” rings wrong, for a nation whose primary cultural heritage is anchored by the two great faiths that eschew pride as an evil, if one bases a way of life on it, and obtrudes it on one’s relations to God and men. Liberty, on the other hand, is a blessing precious and rare, one to celebrate with humility and commitment, remembering its costs paid by our forebears and its benefits for our children and their children after them.

    But there’s also something to simply recalling that July is a whole month, and not just the 4th day, which we commemorate as our Independence Day. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought 1-3 July, and indeed the year 2023 is the 160th anniversary of its sanguinary passage in 1863.

    HOW CONGRESS SHOULD RESPOND TO AN INTERIM IRAN DEAL

    Background

    The Biden administration and Iran are reportedly negotiating over an informal, unwritten agreement that would entail significant U.S. concessions to the Islamic Republic – parts of which may already be underway.1

    Most significantly, America would provide Iran with billions of dollars in sanctions relief in exchange for mere pledges by Tehran to refrain from enriching uranium at weapons-grade levels.

    Under the arrangement, Iran reportedly will be permitted to continue enriching to 60 percent purity. From a technical perspective, that is 99 percent of the effort required to produce weapons-grade uranium enriched to 90 percent purity. In practice, Iran could still expand its nuclear capabilities and advance toward the nuclear threshold.2

    In addition, the arrangement would entail U.S. ransom payments to Tehran in exchange for the release of three American hostages in Iran – Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi, and Morad Tahbaz – whom the regime imprisoned on fabricated espionage charges.

    At the same time, by keeping details of the agreement secret and avoiding any acknowledgment of it, the Biden administration may be seeking to evade the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act (INARA), which requires Congress to review any nuclear-related deal with Iran.3

    The law enables Congress to pass a resolution of disapproval within 30 days of any agreement’s finalization – regardless of the form the agreement takes – that would prevent the executive branch from providing any sanctions relief.
