Agree with her thesis or not, the fact that police, who in many countries like Canada and Germany, have a government monopoly on the use of force, have now run roughshod over their constitutions and taken on ultimate powers to determine people’s movements, purchases and even what we have to say about all this is undeniable.
Behold, the “Safety Nazis”! They’re the ones who killed Halloween – which used to be my favorite day before they killed it because some kids are too dumb to work a firecracker – and they’re waiting in the wings to kill anything else that looks even remotely enjoyable in the name of almighty “safety”. Think of the lives that would be saved if they banned driving or sports for example, or outlawed going to restaurants and bars to fight obesity and male violence…
Where do these people get off categorizing the act of bringing home the bacon as “non-essential”. What, do they think providing for your family is a hobby, perhaps…? An amusing pastime…? And don’t you hate hearing the term “lockdown” used repeatedly? I thought they only had those in prisons…
As for this virus now that our healthcare systems are no longer being overwhelmed and the death-toll is dropping precipitously they should open things up again and let the system deal with the pandemic with testing and hydroxychloroquine and quick trips to the hospital for the target groups. We’re all going to catch the thing eventually so let her rip…
Its not just in Canada and Germany that the police are running roughshod over people, violating their God Given Rights and ignoring the Constitution and lesser laws, it is in all nations. The fact that the police in Canada and Germany have a monopoly oni the use of force makes their actions more widespread and universal then in the US where a very large percentage of the population are heavily armed the police are for the most part either supporting the rights of the people or are being less open about their contempt for the people, the rights of the people and the rule of law.
