An original translation of a press release by the Police Berlin:
Weapons seized in Islamist milieu
Police Announcement from October 25., 2017
Joint Release Police and Office of the Federal Attorney Berlin
In the past night, raids were undertaken at four locations in the districts of Reinickendorf and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf [Berlin – translator]. During these, weapons, part of weapons, and large numbers of ammunition were seized. This is the result of several months of joint investigations of the Office of the Federal Attorney and the Police Berlin against a 40 year old man of German citizenship, who is suspected, among others, to be a member of the Islamist milieu.
During investigations in a different matter, indications surfaced that pointed to the accused having access to arms and to weapons of war. As there was a concern that these might be perused for attacks, the Attorney General Berlin took over the investigations. The decision for arrest was made as an increased readiness for violence was noted currently. The suspicion of possession of arms was confirmed, but currently, there are no clues to concrete plans for an attack. Investigations into this are ongoing. The accused will be presented to the committing magistrate today.
