“At least thirty school girls were poisoned in southeastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan today, the local officials said.
The incident took place in a girl’s school located in Jaghoori district and the health condition of the students has been reported as satisfactory.
Provincial governor Abdul Karim Matin confirmed the incident took place around 12 pm local time on Tuesday in Shahyar Sultan school located in Almito village.
He said the school girls were immediately shifted to the hospital and the majority of them have returned to their homes as receiving treatments.
The main reason behind the poisoning of the school girls has not been ascertained so far but governor Matin said an investigation is underway in this regard.
This is not the first time the school students have been poisoned in the restive provinces, including Ghazni province.
Over 80 students were poisoned in a school located in the central city of Ghazni late in the month of May.
Meanwhile, several unknown armed men destroyed a school located in Jaghoori district of Ghazni province by detonating explosives near the school compound around two weeks ago.”

“Anti-Muslim crimes in the British capital have increased fivefold since the London Bridge terror attack, Mayor Sadiq Khan said on Wednesday, warning that police would take a “zero-tolerance approach”.
“Provisional statistics for 6 June show a 40 percent increase in racist incidents, compared to the daily average this year, and a fivefold increase in the number of Islamophobic incidents,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.
It said 54 racist incidents were recorded on Tuesday, compared to a daily average of 38 so far in 2017.
Twenty of them were anti-Muslim incidents, well above the 2017 daily average of 3.5.
“This is the highest daily level of Islamophobic incidents in 2017 to date,” the statement said, adding it was higher than levels reached after the November 2015 attacks in Paris, in which 130 people were killed.
On his Facebook page, Khan called on Londoners “to pull together, and send a clear message around the world that our city will never be divided by these hideous individuals who seek to harm us and destroy our way of life”.
He also warned that “just as the police will do everything possible to root out extremism from our city, so we will take a zero-tolerance approach to hate crime”.
London’s Metropolitan Police said it had made 25 arrests for hate crime offences since Saturday, when eight people were killed by three militants in the city centre.
Officers had also been in touch with places of worship “to encourage them to report hate crimes and to reassure those who congregate there that the police will take these crimes seriously”, said Dave Stringer, head of the force’s community engagement unit.
He said police were seeing year-on-year increases in all areas of hate crime, in part due to a greater willingness of victims to come forward despite overall such crimes being under-reported.
“However, we also know world events can also contribute to a rise in hate crime,” Stringer said.
In Saturday evening’s attack, the assailants mowed down people on London Bridge before going on a stabbing spree in nearby Borough Market wearing fake suicide vests.
The three attackers, Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba, were then killed by police some eight minutes after arriving on the scene.
The Islamic State group later claimed responsibility for the attack, just weeks after an IS militant killed 22 people at a pop concert in the northern city of Manchester.”

Turkey Throws Support Behind Qatar in Rift Among Arab Nations
ISTANBUL — Turkey signaled support for Qatar on Wednesday after the tiny Gulf country was isolated by several of its neighbors in a major rift among Arab nations.
Meeting in a special night session of Parliament, Turkish lawmakers rushed through new laws that will allow the Turkish Army to conduct joint military exercises with Qatar and members of the Turkish gendarmerie to train their Qatari counterparts.
The new legislation also allows Turkey to send more troops to Qatar, where it has an army base and about 150 soldiers.
The moves followed a speech by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey in which he criticized the countries that acted against Qatar, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt and Yemen.
On Monday, those nations cut diplomatic ties with Qatar and closed their airspace to Qatari planes; Saudi Arabia, Qatar’s only land neighbor, also closed its border to Qatari traffic. Qatar, which imports a large majority of its food, was thrown into crisis.
“I want to clearly say that we disapprove of the sanctions on Qatar,” Mr. Erdogan said in a speech on Tuesday evening, according to the Anadolu Agency, the state-owned news service.
Qatar has angered its neighbors by supporting certain Islamist political movements in the region. Qatari news outlets like Al Jazeera have criticized many of the country’s neighbors. And Qatar is seen in the region as being sympathetic to Saudi Arabia’s nemesis, Iran.
Turkey had initially tried to position itself as an honest broker in the dispute among the Arab states. Mr. Erdogan had a round of phone conversations on Monday with the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Kuwait, whose emir also tried to act as a peacemaker.
“They’re all our Sunni brothers and our friends,” Ilnur Cevik, a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Erdogan, said of the Arab states on Tuesday afternoon, in a show of neutrality.
But with the new laws, Turkey showed that it was “transitioning from neutral mediator to the role of firmly supporting the side of Qatar,” said Galip Dalay, the research director at Al Sharq Forum, a Turkish research organization.
Mr. Erdogan also met in Ankara on Wednesday with Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of Iran, another sign that Turkey was no longer staying on the sidelines.
“Turkey does not want to be forced into this crisis, and having to take one side against another,” Mr. Dalay said. “On the other hand, Turkey is very concerned that if Qatar succumbs to pressure, inevitably Qatar will re-evaluate its relationship with Turkey.”
Turkey is already relatively isolated in the region and is frightened of losing its staunchest regional ally. The Qatari emir was the first foreign leader to telephone Mr. Erdogan during a failed coup in Ankara last year, on a night when Turkey’s other allies were slow to offer support.
Qatar and Turkey also share the same vision for the Middle East, said Ozgur Unluhisarcikli, the Ankara director for the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
“The countries allied with Saudi Arabia want to see Qatar capitulate,” Mr. Unluhisarcikli said. “But Turkey doesn’t want to see this, or see Qatar change its strategy in the Middle East, because broadly speaking, the two countries have the same approach to groups in Egypt, Syria and Palestine” like the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.
Both Qatar and Turkey welcomed many Muslim Brotherhood members who fled Egypt after the 2013 ouster of Mohamed Morsi, a Muslim Brotherhood leader who had been elected president of Egypt the year before.
“If Qatar gives in to this pressure” from its Arab neighbors, Mr. Dalay said, “that will mean that Turkey’s role in the region will be further constrained.”

Feds drop bombshell: Up to 100 girls may have had their genitals cut in Michigan
A federal prosecutor dropped a bombshell in court Wednesday, telling a federal judge that the government estimates that as many as 100 girls may have had their genitals cut at the hands of a local doctor and her cohorts.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sara Woodward disclosed the information while trying to convince a judge to keep a doctor and his wife locked up in the historic case. It involves allegations that two Minnesota girls had their genitals cut at a Livonia clinic in February as part of a religious rite of passage and were told to keep what happened a secret.
“Due to the secretive nature of this procedure, we are unlikely to ever know how many children were cut by Dr. (Jumana) Nagarwala,” Woodward said, referring to the lead defendant in the case, later adding, “The Minnesota victims were not the first victims.”

Establishment media have been hammering Donald Trump for criticizing the London Mayor Sadiq Khan, for declaring in a video statement after the latest terror attack in London that there will be an “increased police presence … over the course of the next few days,” and for insisting that there’s “no reason to be alarmed.”
Trump responded to the mayor’s statement Sunday, tweeting, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’”
And you would think, by how this tweet influenced the cycle, that it was the real crime and the seven dead in the U.K. were merely a subhead.
The mayor’s spokesperson immediately issued a response to Trump’s tweet, saying that the mayor “has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet.” The mayor’s office also claimed the president “deliberately” took Khan’s statements out of context. The statement kicked off a media campaign to support the out-of-context assertion from Khan, a media darling of sorts.

The nationalist party used Twitter to speak out against the Woodstock festival, which will take place in August in western Poland, not far from the German border. It referred to a statement made earlier by organizer Jerzy Owsiak, who said the event was open to migrants living in Germany.
“Do you really want to have an event in Poland with the participation of Muslim immigrants?” Law and Justice wrote, asking those who agreed to share the message.
Rafal Pankowski, the head of Never Again, an anti-racism group that has been involved with the festival for two decades, said he was shocked at the language.

“Right now the government talks about migrants in only one way: They are a threat to the security, they are dangerous, they are terrorists; we will not take anyone because we are looking after the safely of Poles,” Ostaszewska-Zuk said.”

Police have arrested two people on suspicion of racial hatred after a video appeared online showing a man burning a copy of the Koran.
The video, which MailOnline has chosen not to publish, shows a tattooed man standing in a kitchen complaining about being unable to start a fire.
Speaking into the camera, he says: ‘I’ve been trying to get my poxy fire started for half-hour wondering what s**t I can get it going with.’
Holding a paperback copy of the Koran up to the camera, he adds: ‘And then I found this.’
Two videos were posted on Facebook and YouTube on Tuesday and are still available today on various pages.
The second shows the man standing outside tearing pages from the holy book and throwing them on a bonfire.
He says to the camera: ‘And it worked, all I’ve got left is the poxy, sh***y cover and look, that’s on the fire as well.’
West Mercia Police have confirmed they have arrested two people in connection with the video.
Detectives said a 45-year-old man from Worcestershire was arrested on suspicion of posting videos or images likely to cause racial hatred and a 45-year-old woman from Evesham has also been arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.
Superintendent Kevin Purcell said: ‘This was a concerning incident and we will be carrying out a thorough investigation. It is being investigated as a hate crime.
‘We have been in contact with our local Muslim community via Councillor Jabba Riaz, deputy Mayor for Worcester who, as always, acts as a critical friend in support of what we do.
‘If anyone has any concerns about social media posts that potentially incite hate, I would urge them not to share the posts but to report the incident to the police and social media company at the earliest opportunity.’
Copies of the Koran are treated with high regard by Muslims and any move to desecrate or destroy the holy book is seen as an insult.
It comes as a Press Association investigation found Facebook and Twitter had failed to take down a number of misleading videos posted by nationalist group Britain First.
Since April 19 the group has posted at least 10 videos containing scenes substantially different to those described in comments by the group.
These videos have been shared almost 7,000 times altogether. Videos posted by the group often target minority groups, and analysis found they consistently posted false claims about the circumstances being shown, including untrue claims that Muslims and migrants had attacked women and police.
The footage is either posted directly to Facebook and Twitter, or embedded in one of the party’s websites, which are laden with adverts, and then linked to by their social media accounts.
Their verified Facebook page has over 1.8 million likes, which is more than the Conservative, Labour and the Lib Dem parties have combined.
Their Twitter following, however, is far smaller: their unverified @BritainFirstHQ account has just short of 13,000 followers, though leader Paul Golding has 28,000 followers and his deputy Jayda Fransen has 29,000.
Despite social networks announcing high profile measures to tackle ‘fake news’ in recent months, the content remained on both platforms days after it was alerted to them by PA.
Twitter said it does not comment on individual accounts for ‘privacy and security reasons’.
Facebook said it is investigating the posts and that it understands ‘that misleading information can be harmful to our community and we want to do our part to address it’.
MailOnline has contacted Facebook for further comment regarding the Koran burning footage.

JEDDAH: A joint statement by the governments of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt have listed 59 individuals and 12 Qatari-affiliated entities on a combined list of what they described as “terrorist supporters.”
The joint statement said that the list was written as a result of “Qatar’s actions in contravention of its commitments include supporting and harboring elements and organizations that threaten the National security of other states.”
It added that Doha repeatedly ignored “calls for the fulfillment of its obligations under the Riyadh Agreement of 2013 and its associated Implementation Mechanisms, and in addition the Comprehensive Agreement of 2014”
The statement said that the majority of entities sanctioned are “linked to Qatar and are a manifestation of a Qatari government policy of duplicity. One that calls for combating terrorism, whilst simultaneously overseeing the financing, supporting and harboring a vast array of terrorist groups and terrorist financing networks”.
