“The international community should implement strict procedures to stop the funding and arming of terrorist organisations, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi told French Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian during a meeting in Cairo on Thursday.
In a press release by the president’s office, spokesman Alaa Youssef stressed the importance of continued coordination and talks between the two sides over different regional and international conflicts that share mutual interest in order to face the ongoing challenges, including the dangers of terrorism, which have implications affecting the whole world.
El-Sisi also said Egypt appreciated the French minister’s major contribution in boosting Egyptian-French relations in the past, particularly in the military field when he was defence minister.
According to the Egyptian release, Le Drian said he hoped for the bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France by strengthened and that France appreciates its strong relations with Egypt.
The meeting, which was also attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, also included discussions related to Libya, where both the Egyptian and French sides agreed on continued cooperation to push forward with efforts to support the political path of the Libyan factions.

Swiss MP: failed asylum seekers are avoiding deportation (thelocal, Jun 8, 2017)

“Migrants who are refused asylum are not always deported and could prove a threat to society, according to an MP who wants the Swiss government to address the issue in a report.
On Thursday the Swiss upper house of parliament backed a motion by Liberal-Radical Damian Müller in which he asked the Swiss government to examine the problem, reported news agencies.
According to the text of Müller’s motion, some migrants are refused asylum but then manage to avoid being deported, including some who are criminal offenders or may have jihadist sympathies and therefore pose a terror threat.
The Swiss government should find ways to improve current deportation rates and ensure that potentially dangerous people whose deportation is delayed are sufficiently monitored, he said.
The report should also examine whether the costs for this should be borne by the federal government rather than the cantons.
Addressing the issue, justice minister Simonetta Sommaruga said there was no “recipe” for combatting terrorism and that just because someone is refused asylum doesn’t mean they are a terrorist.
But the Council of States supported Müller’s request.
It will be addressed by the Federal Council as part of a report on police measures related to the fight against terror.”

Dutch won’t prosecute Geert Wilders over anti-Islam speech in Austria (thelocal, Jun 8, 2017)
https://www.thelocal.at/20170608/dutch-wont-prosecute-geert-wilders-over-anti-islam-speech-in-austria
“Dutch prosecutors have rejected an Austrian request to prosecute MP Geert Wilders over alleged inflammatory remarks about Islam during a visit to Vienna two years ago, officials said Wednesday.
The decision comes after Austria requested judicial assistance from the Dutch following a March 2015 speech by Wilders at a gathering of Austria’s far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ).
“Insulting a religion or a religious community in the Netherlands, as opposed to Austria, is not punishable by law,” the public prosecutor’s office said, adding that incendiary words would have to target a specific group within that religion.
“Dutch prosecutors therefore turned down Austria’s request,” the prosecutors said…”
