It’s been there for me when I needed it. A bridge, sorta, to the secular world. Fundamentally decent people. Full Americans: hard-working, easy-going.
They’ve got themselves some trouble now. It’s not like Europe. I – and many people like me who were raised on the borders – would be there in a heartbeat if I could help.
