The massacre at a kosher supermarket in Paris on Friday reinforced a fear, expressed openly and with distressing frequency by many in France’s half-million-strong Jewish community, that Islamist violence is compelling large numbers of Jews to flee. Already, several thousand have left over the past few years. But it is not merely the physical safety of France’s Jews that is imperiled by anti-Semitic violence, the country’s prime minister, Manuel Valls, argues, but the very idea of the French Republic itself. In an interview conducted before the Charlie Hebdo and kosher supermarket massacres, Valls told me that if French Jews were to flee in large numbers, the soul of the French Republic would be at risk.
“The choice was made by the French Revolution in 1789 to recognize Jews as full citizens,” Valls told me. “To understand what the idea of the republic is about, you have to understand the central role played by the emancipation of the Jews. It is a founding principle.”
Valls, a Socialist who is the son of Spanish immigrants, describes the threat of a Jewish exodus from France this way: “If 100,000 French people of Spanish origin were to leave, I would never say that France is not France anymore. But if 100,000 Jews leave, France will no longer be France. The French Republic will be judged a failure.”

Police in Germany have detained two men suspected of an arson attack early Sunday against a newspaper that republished the cartoons of French weekly Charlie Hebdo. The newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost said on its website the overnight arson attack destroyed several files in its archive, but didn’t injure anyone.

By calling an act of war, “Pointless Slaughter” The Telegraph is in fact attempting to remove the justification to fight back. This is no less than a modern, much more psychologically sophisticated version of a Tokyo Rose but from within our own borders.
Her observations as so patently poor in this article that she actually has to use identity politics to rationalize it. Sadly she is Jewish, which will only add to the already quite sufficient irrational antisemitism in Western nations already. There is no denying that the use of identity politics is a form of avoiding reason and stepping around it, and not an argument in itself. This is a central aspect of reason itself.
Also notice that she had to make up her own definition of war in order to make the French attacks not a war, and even by her own definition, entirely synthetic and proprietary, she is wrong. They are gaining territory, not just in the thousands of ‘No-Go’ zones in Europe and North America, but in the less tangible territory of our own rights in our own lands, a much more important and global territory they are obviously wining by the admission of our own media moguls.

Really. So that’s what we have to do now, decide on an acceptable level of terrorism, one that terrorists and the terrorized can agree on. It’s harder every day to understand how such people believe that covering and carrying water for the jihad is going to end well for them.
Of course her sentence structure is as convoluted as her logic.
I’m not too sure what century this woman lives in but, for my entire adult life the “enemy” has been one of a gorilla fashion. They don’t wear uniforms, they hide among civilian populations and uniformly violate the Geneva conventions. That is the current nature of warfare.
And yes, we are very much at war with an enemy of this type, at least some of us are. The problem is that we are losing.
I don’t know what community this woman lives in but it sure ain’t Luton or East London or Dearborn MI or Malmo.

#1 By letting the enemies of civilization create mini states inside France the Republic is a failure and will remain one until after the enemy is removed from their territory.
Clever commentators argue that France should negotiate with its Muslim population: a two-state solution, side-by-side, with liberty and respect for all.
Don’t forget Paris as a shared capitol.
That will work as well as the two state solution has worked for Israel, the left never looks at the results of their policies before they try them again.

Saudi billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal told me we will not see $100-a-barrel oil again. The plunge in oil prices has been one of the biggest stories of the year. And while cheap gasoline is good for consumers, the negative impact of a 50% decline in oil has been wide and deep, especially for major oil producers such as Saudi Arabia and Russia. Even oil-producing Texas has felt a hit. The astute investor and prince of the Saudi royal family spoke to me exclusively last week as prices spiraled below $50 a barrel. He also predicted the move would dampen what has been one of the big U.S. growth stories: the shale revolution. In fact, in the last two weeks, several major rig operators said they had received early cancellation notices for rig contracts. Companies apparently would rather pay to cancel rig agreements than keep drilling at these prices. His royal highness, who has been critical of Saudi Arabia’s policies that have allowed prices to fall, called the theory of a plan to hurt Russian President Putin with cheap oil “baloney” and said the sharp sell-off has put the Saudis “in bed” with the Russians.
