Islam and its demands on everyone else: Links post 2 for Oct. 8 – 2014

1. Check out the video of this woman who is crying victim cause they wouldn’t let her wear a freaking prom dress in a public pool. Literally crying.

3. 3rd Night of India-Pakistan Gunfire Leaves 4 Dead

(Weighting the importance of kinetic violence between India and Pakistan is quite difficult as it could range from banal to apocalyptic)

Troops traded heavy fire between Pakistan and Indian-controlled Kashmir, killing at least four civilians and worsening tensions between the long-time rivals, officials on both sides said Wednesday.

The fire exchanges — which Indian officials called the worst violation of a 2003 cease-fire — also wounded 18 civilians on the Indian side and another three on the Pakistani side.

4. Dutch Jew Sparks Controversy After Building Sukkah in Muslim Neighborhood

(Amazing how uncontroversial it is when muslims build all kinds of structures in non-muslim areas and any objection to them, even when they are illegal, gets shouted down as ‘islamophobia’)

Fabrice Schomberg lives in the Muslim-dominated area of Schilderswijk, which was once home to a flourishing Jewish community, and is now known as the “Sharia Triangle” among locals.

Fewer than ten Jewish residents remain in the area.

Schomberg, who claims he’s built a sukkah there for the past three years, was told by authorities that he could built it again this year, but on the condition that he dismantle it each evening to avoid inviting vandalism from his Muslim neighbors.

Thank you M., Perfectchild, Don L., and many more. Its gonna be a busy day. There will likely be a few more multi posts.

  1. #4 or just a pretext

    My RANT (Reading optional.)
    Mark my words:
By the end of POTUS’s reign, POS hopes to do as much harm to Israel and the Jewish people as any Muslim enemy in history.

Between Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood he’ll have Israel caught in a pincer maneuver. Hezbollah in the north, Hamas in the south. If he continues to incite the Palestinians in the West Bank, he’ll have the nation encircled.

He’s proven how easy it is to shut the airport down, an instant blow to the economy, a quick and dirty demonstration of Israel’s vulnerability to asphyxiation. Staggering – and we’re Israel’s Best Friend!

Europe takes its cues from the U.S. Their unfounded condemnations of Israeli domestic decisions are becoming more strident every day. Jews who build housing in millennia-old Jewish neighborhoods are called “settlers”! That is to put into question the legitimacy of the State as defined in 1948.

Europe is keen to conflate Israel with the Jewish people. The memory of pogroms and deportations hovered like clouds of greasy ash over every city this summer.

Too many Jews chime into these blanket condemnations. They’ve contributed to making “Zionism” as loathsome an “-ism” as Nazism or Fascism. And worlds worse than Communism.

They don’t realize that, if push comes to shove, they’re destined to share the fate of their co-religionists. When the time comes perhaps they’ll be elevated to kapos, like their sponsor George Soros.

    End of Rant
(I could go on but I’ll spare you. Thank-you for your kind attention.)

      • That’s for sure.

But it’s not just those who are living in Europe. A huge piece of my personal identity is there.

Perhaps those who left Montreal when it “went French” feel the same way.

        • Seeing that Quebec then decided to hand the keys to the store to Muslim immigrants was the real kicker. We might have stayed, in retrospect. There’s a big difference between people saying they want you to go to Toronto and saying they want to send you to the gas. All the next generation of my family did French immersion and has fluent French anyhow, wherever in English Canada they moved to. But if the city is going to become a sort of snowy version of Algiers it wouldn’t have felt like home anyhow. Canada generally, of course. Good for this Dutch guy sticking to his guns, but I can’t really see that it’s fair to his children, staying on in a place like that. Painful as all this uprooting is.

      • Natan Sharansky heads the Jewish Agency. It’s mission is to rescue Jews. He’s been spending lots of time in Europe lately, as you might guess. He was there during the second intifada, where I had the misfortune to be before I definitively “divorced” Europe.

        Here’s a recent article:
Post-Liberal Europe and its Jewish Problem
Strong ideological currents are turning Europe into a difficult place for Jewish survival.

        • Informative article. I had to laugh at the ‘East is East and West is West’ condescension from the French liberal intellectuals whose post-identity spinelessness is facilitating the Arabization of once-Western France.

    • Jeffrey Goldberg wrote this great article back in August. Here’s part of it:

      Europe’s Slow Surrender to Intolerance

We have learned a number of unfortunate truths about the nature of the global anti-Israel movement this summer. One is that the war in Gaza is understood by many to be a continuation of Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, and not of the 1967 Six Day War.

Which is to say, many protesters are challenging Israel’s very right to exist, not its policies in the territories it came to occupy in 1967 (or in Gaza’s case, territory it occupied in 1967 and then turned over to Palestinians in 2005). A second is that the line separating anti-Zionism — the belief that Jews have no right to an independent state in at least part of their ancestral homeland — and anti-Judaism, already reed-thin, has pretty much vanished.

    • If anything is wrong in your rant it is that you may have understated the danger Obama is to Israel, I fear what he is going to do after the November elections, both to the US and Israel.

  2. “…but on the condition that he dismantle it each evening to avoid inviting vandalism from his Muslim neighbors.”

I love the way this is reported as if this is the normal, everyday course of events, now, to be expected. Wonderful.

And nobody thinks to ask “why?”…

  3. 1/ ‘Balance religious exemptions with public safety.’ Making everyone less safe in the balance. Good thinking.

I wouldn’t want to get in the same water as her anyway whether she’s bagged up or not. Muslims are not renowned for their personal hygiene.
