1. Few gains testify to weak air campaign against Islamic State

BAGHDAD (AP) — After two months, the US-led aerial campaign in Iraq has hardly dented the core of the Islamic State group’s territory. The extremist fighters have melted into urban areas when needed to elude the threat, and they have even succeeded in taking new territory from an Iraqi army that still buckles in the face of militants.

In neighboring Syria, days of airstrikes have been unable to stop extremists on the verge of capturing a strategic town on the Turkish border.

This latter view is advanced, remarkably enough, by a theologian Martin Rhonheimer from a university endorsed by the Pope. He is a professor at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome and wrote an essay on this particular distinction in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

You do not hear many official Muslim voices condemning Islamic State, says Rhonheimer. And when it finally happens, it is usually only to condemn the bestiality because it harms Islam’s reputation. The Islamic State is no heresy, but “a recurring pattern in the history of violent expansion. The model is Muhammad himself.”

    It is this incredible stupidity, this incredible sentimentality, this incredible self-loathing politically correct insanity that will give rise to a plague that could very well sweep North America and Europe killing hundreds and hundreds of millions of souls.

    There are times, when I look at the events unfolding in the Middle East, the economic meltdowns of entire banking systems and entire economies, the attempt by the USA to manitain its hold on their foundational currency the dollar, the wars exploding across the Slavic regions and this amongst other actions like the purposeful placing of plague carriers in uninfected regions, an action that is inexplicable and completely unnecessary……..its at times like these that I am almost certain there is a group of persons who are orchestrating a complete reduction in world population and a complete realignment of the world’s governance, power and financial structure.

    • I think the situation is a mix of both your and Perfect Child’s scenarios, it is partially caused by socialist who cloak themselves in the environmentalist movement so they can weaken the west and allow the Marxists to take over. This has led to the election of many semi competent individuals to high office and they are over whelmed by current events. This has led to the mess of Congress allowing Obama to open the southern border to anyone that wants to sneak across and appointing what are clear fools to positions where they are allowing the modern plague free to kill a very large percentage of the worlds population. The plague will not only kill hundreds of millions in the West but also many more hundreds of millions in the third world nations.

  3. New suspected Ebola patient in Dallas area

    Frisco officials say patient exhibiting Ebola-like symptoms claims to have had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan

    This just in from Dana Baird, Frisco’s director of communications and media relations:

    At 12:32 p.m. today, October 8, Frisco dispatch received a call from Care Now, 301 Main Street, regarding a patient exhibiting signs and symptoms of Ebola. The patient claims to have had contact with the Dallas ‘patient zero’. Frisco firefighter-paramedics are in the process of transporting the patient. They are also in the process of examining clinical staff and other facility patrons. That number other people impacted is unknown. No other information is confirmed, available at this time.

    A news conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. TODAY.

    It should be noted: This is not a confirmed case of Ebola. It is not known if this person did indeed have contact with Duncan, who died this morning at Presbyterian Hospital. And health officials have yet to say anything concerning the Frisco call.

  4. Pentagon: 100 US Marines heading to Liberia

    WASHINGTON —
    The Pentagon says 100 Marines will go to Liberia on Thursday with helicopters and other transportation to help the military get to locations around the country and help with the Ebola fight.

    The Pentagon press secretary, Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby, says the Marines are part of a special air-ground task force out of Spain.

    He says this probably will be a temporary assignment, and the Marines will remain until soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, arrive.

    The soldiers will get to Liberia later this month.

    The Marines will bring four MV-22 Ospreys and two KC-130 refueling aircraft to help get troops and supplies to remote locations. They are part of the up to 4,000 U.S. troops authorized to deploy to Africa in the Ebola fight.
