  1. OT-Turkish woman sentenced to jail for funding Pakistan terror outfit

WASHINGTON: A Turkish woman was sentenced to five years in jail by a US court on charges of sending money to a terrorist outfit in Pakistan for attacks against American military personnel.

40-year-old Oytun Ayse Mihalik, a lawful permanent resident of the US residing in California, had pleaded guilty last August to one count of providing material support to terrorists.

When she pleaded guilty, Mihalik specifically admitted that she provided money to an individual in Pakistan with the intention that the money would be used to prepare for and carry out attacks against US military personnel and other persons overseas, the US Justice Department said today.

Using the alias Cindy Palmer, Mihalik sent a total of USD 2,050 in three wire transfers to the person in Pakistan over the course of three weeks at the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011.

“International terrorists require a steady pipeline of money to maintain and support their operations,” said US Attorney Andre Birotte.

“The defendant in this case knowingly and deliberately made wire transfers to fund terrorist operations overseas, where contributions like these could have a significant and devastating impact on American interests,” he said.

Mihalik has been in federal custody since she was arrested on August 27, 2011, as she was preparing to board a flight to her native Turkey with a one-way ticket.

As part of this case, Mihalik agreed that the US can take away her immigration status and that she will be removed from the US to Turkey after serving her prison sentence.

After her arrest, she told the FBI that she believed the person in Pakistan was a member of the Taliban and al Qaeda, and she knew he was using the money for mujahadin operations against American military forces in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.

  2. Basically the French have no balls due to their adherence to Political Correctness (i.e. Marxism) they try to please everyone which we can all see is a path to doom. Their country is being invaded by Muslim moochers, who the lunatic liberals say are refugees or seeking political asylum , however all they do is demand more free goods, housing, cash, special privileges, and accommodations. As a ‘reward’ for the compassion of the French government they absolutely refuse to assimilate in any manner, learn good French, get an education for themselves or their children, commit a high degree of violent crimes, insult the host country, and in the long run turn France into a tribal third world hell.

  3. OT- Turkish woman …part 2

[…]From the perspective of her defense lawyers, Mihalik deserves a significant downward departure from federal sentencing guidelines. They say that except for a brief, “tumultuous period,” she has led “an extremely law-abiding life” and was “not singularly motivated” to aid terrorists through “a passionate radical ideology,” according to court records. They describe her as nonviolent, well-educated and a onetime horseback-riding devotee. Her pro-al-Qaeda moves resulted from “a confused and conflicted mental state” caused by her troubled marriage, her brother’s pilgrimage to Pakistan, her 69-year-old mother’s chronic cough and a miscarriage. They also claim their client was “easy prey” for al-Qaeda operatives’ “dramatic and emotional use” of the Koran to manipulate her mindset.

Ms. Mihalik never attended any terrorist-training camp,” Van Nuys-based criminal defense lawyer Alan Eisner told the judge last year. “Ms. Mihalik was never privy to any specific terrorism plot. Ms. Mihalik never offered any plan or advice for any terrorist attack.”

FBI agents and federal prosecutors hold a more sinister view of the defendant, who has been residing legally in the U.S. because of a marriage to an American. After returning from a 2010 trip to Turkey, she voiced anti-American sentiments to her husband, who was so frightened he secretly contacted Homeland Security officials. He reported that she told him, “If I have to kill people for Allah, I will,” and that she called taking a citizenship oath to the U.S. “a blasphemy.”

[…]When Mihalik eventually emerges from her prison stint, she’ll be deported back to Turkey. According to her plea deal, she will be allowed to return to the U.S. under one condition: She obtains written permission from high-ranking, national-security officials.

  4. I’m sick and tired of people trying to get ‘groups’ onto terrorist lists. They are merely trying to list sub-groups. The list will become far too long.
Just put the ‘religion of Islam’ on the list as a terrorist group. This would be simple, truthful, and in the long run, far more effective!

  5. Bob you are right but we can’t do that until we remove the politically correct leaders of the west.
