So many lies in that news report, and all directed at enforcing a central narrative that it actually represents a bigger truth. We live in a communist state much as Orwell described in 1984. Not predicted, he did not invent that as our future. He simply described communism as it actually was, which is why he stopped being a socialist, and wrote a book about what England would be like if it was under a system that was already established, in the foreseeable future. That is why it seems to eerily prophetic. Because it already was somewhere. He just put it somewhere else.
