Right now Canada as helpless as a duck on a frozen pond probably will not willingly join the states. But wake up one morning to the announcement that WWIII is in full swing and every Canuckelhead in the country ” buying only made in Canada” while 90% of everything else they buy comes out of China will be at the border with their belongings dripping out the back of the mini van begging Mr. Trump to take them in.

Canada is fat and juicy. The CCP has been executing its takeover operation for long enough.
PT and Putin are trying to reconcile feuds generated by their various enemies, some of whom pretend they’re our allies. They’re got to prepare together for the coming wars for the Arctic.
Canada and Russia have territorial rights over huge expanses of that treasure trove. Russia’s been analyzing the region since the Tsars. Now they’re producing equipment to meet the technical challenges.
China figures it can get what it wants when it occupies Canada officially. We’ve been set up to destroy our internal cohesion, waste ourselves till the day we wake up to find China on our border.

As a ‘far right’ (euphemism for sane) American, I would be absolutely appalled at Canada having any say in our elections or representation. We already have a crazy, destructive state of our own with about the same population and don’t need another one.
I would feel exactly that way if I was American.
Probably Alberta joining the US would give you rugged individualist-realists outside of Edmonton, and of course, oil.
The rest of Canada is California with awful weather.
Alberta would definitely be acceptable.
